WEN Metal Shear, Swivel Head, Variable Speed, 18-Gauge, 4-Amp (3650)

Fantastic tool for my needs! I recently built two raised garden beds and needed an efficient way to cut wire fencing—this tool made the job incredibly easy. It saved me time and effort, and the results were clean and precise. Highly recommend!

Bought this to fix a mistake (bought to long) with some ridged galvanized roofing sheet metal. I figured for the price of this. It was cheaper than returning the metal and wasting diesel fuel. I decided to test this thing out against some of the comments of negativity. I drew a straight line on the metal with a marker. It DOES cut straight!! However if YOU the operator can't push straight. You're not going to get a straight cut. It will cut over a single ridge. This is where the swivel head comes in handy. Just rotate it 45 degs so you can push down and forward while cutting the ridge. However it will not cut thru a double ridge. Which I kinda knew it wouldn't. So I carried a grinder w/ a cut off wheel. I had 10ft of over lapped at the double ridge sheet metal to cut. Took me about 5-10 minutes. Most of that was moving the ladder and switching out the shear for a grinder. These electric shears are well worth it vs some aviator shears. If you have some detailed cuts to make. Test it out on some scrap metal 1st. So you know how hard you have to push and how much tension to apply to the trigger.

These are perfect for a small to medium project. If you are putting a roof on a shed, perfect. If you are using these commercially you better invest in something better. These work fine, but are frustrating if you are trying to go over the humps in most roofing metals. You really have to work it! The jaws dont open wide enough to catch the beginning of the hump so you have to work it up and down and push to get it to start over it. Other than cutting the bumps, these work like a hot knife in butter. Lengthwise cuts parallel to the bumps are smooth and simple. It was easy enough to use that my 14 year old handled it on the lengthwise cuts. It doesn't require much muscle. The motor does seem stout enough to work for a good while like a higher quality tool would. For the price it was perfect for our no-budget small shed roof project. We probably wont use the tool again after this projrct. We are reusing metal from an old roof so each piece has to be cut to length. I would find another option if I was doing a larger project or needed to do a ton of cuts.

Took it out of the package and put it to work. It cuts perfectly. I was cutting corrugated metal roof panels. It cut through with ease. Perfect clean cuts.

This is an excellent tool. I bought it to cut steel roofing, which has ridges and is fairly thick. Needed something to follow my guideline as well as handle the ridges ok. After reading other reviews I decided to try it. Very nice results. This tool was significantly cheaper than the same version sold by Harbor Freight. And it shipped quickly and efficiently and was in my hands the next day. Since I live in small town west Florida, that’s unusual. I pulled it out of the box, read the brief directions and put it to work. 45 minutes and 8 nice straight cuts later, I came inside to cool off, drink some cold water and share my experience. I’m about to put metal siding on my shop. This will be perfect.

Good quality . Functions well .

Cuts flat metal like a "hot knife through butter." Cutting raised/ridged metal sheets is another matter. At times, I put the electric shears down and had to finish the cut with hand shears to get around the bends in the metal.

Great unit- we were quoted an enormous amount by contractors to chop up a hot water and drop it thru a narrow attic access stairwell. Used this to cut off the outer skin and removed the foam to make the whole water heater slim enough to fit down the narrow opening. Save a LOT for only the small cost of this gadget. Very Happy. It has awesome power and light weight - tremendous buy!

Comme premier projet, j'ai découpé une tôle de piscine de 50 pi en quatre longueurs pour doubler un bac de jardinage. Le travail est précis et rapide, ne laissant pas de bord coupant ni de barbes dangereuses à manipuler. Il crée un ruban en spirale de 1/4 po qui devient une perte, mais à part cet inconvénient, il coupe tout ce que je peux couper avec de bonnes cisailles, mais tellement plus rapidement, en éliminant presque tout danger de se couper. La première impression est excellente.

I bought this for a project and I think I'm in love. This is a very nice quality set of metal shears. It makes nice clean cuts and saves a ton of time plus my forearm. You need these, I promise. The only downfall is it has a cord but I can't justify hundreds of dollars extra for a tool that'll get used occasionally

Used to cut corrugated roofing tin. Somewhat tough to get up and down corrugations but would work great for flat tin.
