Great! Can customize!
I feed squirrels and birds in my used. The squirrels were getting into my potted plants and tearing them up. I didn't want to hurt them or send them away permanently just keep them out of the potted plants. I found this little treasure. It is great. Throw in a coupl batteries, record what ever you want and presto! Plant security. I of course dressed mine up as a viking. Im not sure if that increased its effectiveness, but, it was fun and looks pretty tough! .. Well to a squirrel anyways. I glued sticks on so i could put in my plants. I tested its sensitivity and i is surprisingly good. You could easily put a plastic bag over this for garden security. Not overly sensitive either, so that viking yell doesn't go off 50x before 7am. I mean we all love the immigrant song but maybe not like that. I Didn't want to annoy my neighbors. It has 2 levels loud and louder. But it isn't over kill for my use. All that with the fact you can customize the front with a sharpie or eyeliner pencil and get some crazy fun faces! Im digging it! Don't know what you might need it for but I think it's awesome. Sound is clear and it works!

It does the job!
It does the job! I purchased two. I use these for my entryways to my garage and my front door, for my teenage children to make sure that they lock the door and take their shoes off. I wish there was a volume option on here. But for the most part you can just speak really softly and quietly so that it’s not blaring loudly. It repeats too soon in my opinion, and I have to put a piece of tape so that it only gets the entrance to the door and not the surrounding area. For example , my entryway to my front door area has a lot of high traffic going up and down the stairs and into the downstairs office and dining room so it goes off constantly but if you put a little piece of white tape on the side it will not go off! Just as a little hack. If there was a feature to swivel the motion detected area then it would just catch the front door and I wouldn’t have to put the tape. Overall I’m satisfied!

Easy to use and effective
I don't know I didn't think of looking for a product like this a year ago. I have several little dogs and I don't which one of them or it might be more than one who refuses to stop soiling and peeing in a corner of my living room (thank god it's a high end vinyl floor so now warping or damage) and it has been driving me crazy. Nothing works to deter them, none of the sprays, chastizing, NOTHING except belly bands but that still doesn't stop the pooping, and now they have been tagging the Christmas tree skirt! Well, I had a motion sensor activated Christmas Radio and placed it near the area and I noticed it scared them off and I thoght, I bet Amazon has some motion activated alarms, and I found these. Imagine how shocked they are to hear Mommy's voice yelling at them by NAME to "Get OUT OF THERE" as they go snooping in the Tree area. I can finally take down the dog gates I had to errect around the tree. In fact, I had to link several gates and gate off half of the living room, it's was ridiculous. It's annoying a bit to hear these things go off all every time someone walks by as they really do have a large range, but I am hopeful that these are finally going to train their little walnut sized brains to stay out of those areas. Dogs learn by repetition and this is a painless way to train train them. I just wish I could plug them into the wall and not have to use batteries but they are still worth it. The range on these is so good, that they would even chase them out of a room completely if you want to keep a pet out of a room and forget to close the door.

Perfect Hawk-Bot!
This works great as a high-tech psychological warfare system for my vegetable garden. I recorded a red-tail hawk screech that gets louder if the intruder doesn't flee right away. It scares away groundhogs, squirrels, chipmunks and birds! A ziploc sandwich bag keeps it dry, and placing it in a shaded spot keeps it from getting too hot. Level 1: "Oh, is there a hawk nearby? Maybe I'll just grab one more bean..." Level 2: "Okay, he sounds closer." Level 3: "ABORT MISSION! HE’S DIVING!"

So many uses 1. Cookie jar alarm. 2. Annoyance device
I bought this device because I am a jerk. I usually stash some cash in a toolbox. It is always gone when I get home. With this device I can leave a " You are welcome" message or a scary scream. I have also placed this device in the cookie jar, and in a cupboard. I haven't tried what I bought it for. Leaving short sound recordings around the house, like the sound of my front door squeak and place it on the ceiling so that it is triggered after the victim has turned their back to the door and started walking up the stairs.. In the short time that I have had this it has functioned flawlessly. The play back speaker is louder than I expected. I also downloaded the BigSound Effects app. Now I can record cartoon soffffunds and play them back in random pfflaces. Like inside my locked mailbox. I could use a different animal sound every day.. I think I will start with a big cat purring..

Not realistic
Don't think this will fool a person into believe a mean dog is behind that door. It's fun - but i could only get growling to sound sort of realistic. No way does barking sound real - way too cheap of a speaker.

If you want to record a lot you will need something else
Not long enough recording for me. Very little time
