Can it be used to sit on to just warm your bum? Looked through the description for a warning or a possible weight limit, but didn't see anything.

I've been using mine everyday and I microwave it several times a day. I'm putting it to the test and it's holding up quite well. I would recommend this product to anyone. Also I think it should be fine if you sit on it I don't think that would be an issue it's pretty durable.

Are there other heating options?

Hello there, I assume you want to heat it in an oven. We do not suggest that you heat it in the oven cause an oven heats the pad from the outside to the inside, the surface of the pad will be hot but the inside might still be room temperature. In that case, the heating pad will lose the heat very soon failing to hold the temperature. But when you heat it in the microwave, It generates heat from inside to the outside slowly and holds the heat for a very long time.

How long do you have to heat this up in the microwave?

Heat for two minutes up to maximum three minutes per instructions. i usually heat for two and a half minutes.

Is this item scented or unscented?

Unscented. I sprinkle a little scented oil on it like lavender or verbena to give it some scent other than hot fabric.
