Office Chair Gas Lift Cylinder Replacement, Hydraulic Pneumatic Shock Piston Heavy Duty (330 LBS), Highest END Class 4, (Chrome)

I always felt my office chair was too low for my desk, but put up with it since I only spent some time in the office. Given the COVID-19 lockdown and working from home, I felt it was time to upgrade to a new chair. As I was researching, I came across some information regarding the gas cylinder. There was nothing wrong with my cylinder and it worked fine, it just was not high enough for my oversized desk. I did some research and rather spend $300 on a new chair, I thought I would give the cylinder a try for $20. The description is exactly correct and while I struggled a little removing the existing cylinder (check out YouTube on how to), the replacement was simple. Best of all, I just gained what feels like an additional 4" in height!! I liked this so much, I ended up buying another one for a different office chair. VERY pleased with the outcome. Best of all, I was expecting the product to arrive on 4/22 and it came on 4/18 - four days early! Overall, very pleased with the product and seller.

Works exactly as described. Used a hammer top pop out the old base, used a pipe wrench to spin the post loose from the seat. From start to finish, less than 5 minute project

UPDATE ONE MONTH LATER! After one month and 11 days, just 11 days after the return window, it broke. It claims 350 pound weight capacity well that is major bs. This is my first review. And the reason you want to buy a good one in the first place because as I hd said it is very hard to get the old one out!! it seems to work fine so far. time will tell and if it breaks I will update this review. no instructions were included and my hubby had to really struggle to get the old defective cylinere out of the chair and didnt' know if he was doing it right for sure but he luckily guest right and got the new one in and it is fine so far.

The gas lift cylinder solved my problem with my office chair. Easy to do if you have U-tube because there were none like no instructions in the container with the cylinder. Again u-tube can solve the problem. Cylinder works great and you don't need a new chair just replace the cylinder. john

Had a chair with no base, a nice $500 chair and so this was awesome! I bought this, the base and the wheels for under $100 and it all looks and works great. I’m a big guy too and it holds me fine. No real install or setup, just place it in the hole of the base and set the chair in top of it. Simple, no screws, boom

It is defiantly as stated, chrome, long and holds a lot, but that's what I wanted !. The hard part was getting the old one out of the chair base.....I put a pipe wrench on the shaft of the old one and was able to remove it from the chair, then took the base with lift attached to it out to the garage and set in my bench vise ( nice big Wilton ) and with a 3lbs. sledge hammer and 8" long chunk of wood I was able too smack it with a couple of good blows and POP !!! there she goes hitting to floor like a bullet.....keep your feet clear mates !!, The pipe wrench left deep gouges in the old shaft so if you are planning on reusing the existing gas lift you are trying to remove.... you might want to rethink the method in which it was removed by Me ? , so the old one went it the garbage, I installed the New Office Factor Chair gas Lift and all is Golden !!

It is the same size as the one that came with my chair ( thr one on the left is the one I'm reviewing) so I was immediately upset but now that I have installed it I am pleased with the results. I wanted more height even though I'm short. I don't like how short thr gas lifts that come its the chair are. Neightwr does my daughter. We both like to put our feet up anyhow and do not like brushing them off the floor. So maybe I'll get her one too. So yes it was easy to install took a few minutes cause thr top part of my chair is heavy and the wheel part was rolling away.

The part was easy to install, removing the old part was the most difficult. I used wd 40, a hair dryer, and a Mallett to remove the old part. A few rounds of spraying, warming, and banging it over a utility blanket. Previously my lift didn't go high enough for but this one raised my chair high enough for me to sit comfortably using a standing desk converter. I also like that the height increase/decrease smoothly in small increments. Definitely perfect for someone 5'6 to over 6ft tall.
