Munchkin Baby Feeder, 2 Pack, Coral/Purple

These really helped our son (and mom) when he started transitioning to solids. It really gave me peace of mind because he had a lower chance of choking. He absolutely loved eating bananas through these mesh baby feeders. The only downside is that they are difficult to clean.

These Munchkin baby feeders have been really helpful for introducing fresh fruits and other soft foods safely. They’re easy to hold, and the size is perfect for little hands learning to self-feed. The mesh design lets baby get the flavor and small bits of food without the risk of choking, which gives a lot of peace of mind. They’ve worked great for things like strawberries, bananas, and other soft fruits. The coral and purple colors are also cute and easy to spot in the diaper bag or sink. Cleaning is pretty straightforward — just rinse and wash, and they hold up well with regular use. I have really enjoyed using this product for my 6 month old. We use it several times a week. We are doing a combo approach of both purees and BLW. She has not yet mastered the pincer grasp, so this feeder is perfect for the meantime. She is still able to enjoy certain fruits and vegetables independently that she wouldn't be able to if we had offered them to her cut up small. Her favorite foods in the feeder are strawberries and clementines. We have not had any issues with pieces of the mesh coming off/being in her food. As far as being able to clean, I've found these quite easy to clean. As other reviewers have recommended, as soon as my daughter is done eating, I empty the feeder and have it soak in warm water until I am able to wash it. I did find that it is very difficult to clean it after used for banana, so I do not recommend using banana with this product. My one complaint about this product, which I didn't see many people mention, is that it was VERY difficult for me to open the first couple times I use it. I actually had to use pliers to open it the first time! I couldn't believe it! I don't know if it was just a fluke or if this happens to everyone. I was worried that it would end up being a wasteful purchase because I found it so difficult to use. But don't give up! After just a couple uses it became much easier for me to open, and still remains firmly closed when my daughter uses it. I guess it had to loosen a little somehow.

We bought these Munchkin Baby Feeders when we started solids to help reduce the risk of choking while introducing new foods. We began using them around six months old, adding strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and soft veggies. The mesh made it easy for our baby to safely taste and digest tiny pieces, and the handle fit perfectly in his little hands, helping him practice fine motor and early feeding skills. I also liked that the feeder locks securely and tightly—there’s no way for baby to pop it open. The only downside is that the mesh can be a bit difficult to clean and can stain from certain fruits, but honestly, that’s worth the peace of mind knowing he’s safe while trying new foods. It was also great during teething. We’d pop in cold fruit or chilled items, and he loved gnawing on it for relief and comfort. For the price and the added peace of mind, I would definitely recommend these to other parents introducing solids.

Phenomenal, our girl has outgrown them now, but we did use them for many months. Banana is a great one in here. Our girl wasn’t a big fan of purées so we would freeze strips and put them in here and she would slowly use these as a popsicle as the purées melted. Was a super great teething tool. Just make sure to give it a pretty good rinse off when your baby’s finished. If we left food in there accidentally, it was quite the scrub down to clean. But if we didn’t forget food in it, it was pretty easy to just rinse off and put in the dishwasher.

Really helpful for being able to hand solids to a baby that is learning how to eat but isn't quite ready for chewing. My one complaint is that the mesh isn't the easiest to clean. I feel like the seam inside never reallllllllly gets totally clean no matter how much I clean it. My baby used it with ease and the product has held up well, but it would be awesome if the mesh came out. I also had a few instances where I was trying to stuff frozen fruit in and they just wouldn't fit...I could have just cut them. Most things fit without problem, honestly. My son loves these. I put his favorite fruits in them. An it doesn't make a huge mess.
