Phenomenal laptop!!
I really needed an upgrade and this laptop has instantly boosted my productivity. Iris Xe really isn't for gaming but you can run some light games. Overall, as a student it's all I need. One thing which bothers me though is the screen is really awkward to clean...

No Regrets
Wanted a screen size bigger than the usual 13/13.5”. Preferred to avoid Intel Optane because of associated disk imaging difficulties. Also did not want an OLED screen after spending £200 replacing the screen on my 3 year old LG OLED TV which had the likes of the Sky News ticker strip burnt in. “Burnt in” is a misnomer, insofar as it is the degradation of the pixels that produce the effect, and more importantly it is not just caused by leaving the same image on the screen for a long period as suggested by Curry’s. It is a cumulative or additive process, and thus displaying the likes of a taskbar repeatedly may potentially be a problem for OLED screens in time ahead. I eventually chose the LG Gram 16”. First impressions were an attractive laptop, very light in weight. Build is good. There is a little flex on the keyboard but certainly not noticed in normal use. There is quite a bit of flex in the screen/top cover, but again, only noticed when specifically looking for it by pushing at a corner. The keyboard is pleasant to use, the backlit keys being a good size, well spaced, and slightly concave. A numbers pad is also included. Key action is silent, smooth with a positive feel. The power key incorporates a fingerprint sensor that seems to work very well. Finally the touchpad is enormous and works well, although I personally prefer to use my Bluetooth mouse. Unlike some of the competition, the laptop is provided with plenty of ports, HDMI, 2 x usb C, 3.5mm audio, 2 x USB 3.2, micro card reader. The 16:10 IPS screen is excellent, the colours being bright and accurate, the 2560 x 1600 resolution providing a sharp image. The screen surface is shiny and has attracted quite a bit of criticism but so far I have not found it to be a problem, but could be if used outside on a sunny day. The screen bezel is minimal but still big enough to enable a webcam to be located in the usual place. The webcam is 720p and does it’s job, just! But ok in good lighting. Audio again does its job, main problem being the lack of bass. However I tend to use Bluetooth headphones, or my Denton Bluetooth speaker if listening to music. The laptop audio is fine for watching YouTube videos, or video chats. Storage is a 1TB SSD. I immediately shrunk that to under 200GB, and created a second disk for data in the unallocated space. I keep Macrium Reflect images of my C drive to enable a quick restore in case of disasters, hence my C drive is limited to OS and programs. Data on the D drive is backed up separately. As well as Windows, the software also includes the mandatory 365 trial, and also a McAfee trial. Can understand bundling the 365 trial with Windows, but no excuse for McAfee. However all easily removed, I use Kaspersky. In addition, like Dell and many others, LG have included some of their own software. Have not tried all but don’t see the value of most, but again those not wanted can be readily removed. The device is built around an 11th gen i7, and 16GB memory. Quite satisfied with performance, and laptop runs very quietly, battery life is excellent. Maybe don’t stress it, probably my heaviest load is Vegas Movie Studio. Whilst performance is fine for me, reviews suggest that if a games pc is wanted, it would be best to choose one that has an independent video adapter. My laptop arrived with Windows 10, and after all seemed to be running well for a couple of weeks, I upgraded to Windows11. In summary, no regrets, and would recommend. To protect, I purchased the Rainyear 15.6” case, excellent fit, good value for money.

Keyboard failed before 2 years
If you need thin and light with a big screen this fits the bill but keyboard keys start missing hits. Returned one shortly after purchase and next one failed before 2 years and after warrantee. Poor
