The plot and characters are good but I found all the grammatical errors and inconsistencies distracting. I’d suggest getting a professional editor to review it!

Prequel
This was my first DCI Lambert read. When looking at Matt Brolly's booklist I saw that this was a prequel so decided to read it first. I will definitely be reading at least the next one in the series

It was a good read but not as good as the crime series of his that I've read. Still had me guessing a little bit but the ending was flat.

A good read
A very good read that felt like a short story as I got through it so quickly. Just kept wanting to go back to it each time I put it down. I like Lambert and will be reading more in the series.

Brilliant Prequel to the series
I am biased as these series of books are written by my brilliant cousin Matt Brolly.I have thoroughly enjoyed the series of the DCI Lambert series.I love the fact the chapters are short and concise. The books are very well written and once you start reading personally I can't wait to turn the page to find out what will happen.The characters littered through the book are well thought out and a great representation of very like characters within the Police Force.I highly recommend this series of books, you won't regret buying them.

Very good thriller
Fast pace and interlaced with personal aspects which brought the characters to life. Ideal read on holiday as it’s easy to pick up and put down without forgetting the storyline.
