Great Purchase!
I purchased this in purple in February 2024. Delivery was quick. It has held up beautifully for 2 years since and counting. The whole top of the unit opens at the lid so it's extremely easy to keep clean inside. No plastic ever touches the water. There is a stainless steel lining instead which is a great healthy choice. It's reliable, has decent boil time. It gets heavily used and has been used at least twice a day every day for the past two years. Great purchase!!!

Have had it for more than 3 years! Just one thing to keep in mind.
I’ve had the kettle for more than 3 years and going strong lol! I had another Secura kettle prior to this and sold it when I moved. So it’s safe to say kettles from this brand have been with me for more than 6 years and I drink hot beverage every day. Just imagine how stable they are. The reason I chose the kettle was for its stainless steel interior and the durability. Water comes out fast and hot as expected. Good value for the price. Portable and cute looking. One thing to keep in mind is to pour the water slowly so it doesn’t spill over to the side. When I’m in a rush and need to get all water out fast, I open the lid so the water can come out (hot vapor alert). Other than that nothing out of surprise. I hope this kettle continues to work for many years to come.

Not so much on the color BUT Awesome performance and energy-efficient
Update: I love this thing so much that I wanted to provide an update. I use this at least twice a day, and more if I want boiling water for any cooking use at all. If I want to make pasta, boil potatoes, whatever, I put my kettle on and it is so much faster than waiting for a pot to boil, but I also put a little water in the pan on the stove and get it boiling, too, so that when I pour in my kettle's worth of hot water, I'm well ahead of the process. I've also had no problem with "rusting" or staining at all, my cord isn't heating up, and my only regret with this kettle is that I didn't get one sooner. Also, re the raisin color: it's still ugly, but I have found amusement in coming up with descriptions of the color, and the laughing offsets the ugly factor. There's always a silver lining. So, I got the Dark Purple because I was being cheap. It's my own choice, and I did not rate the color. This isn't dark purple. it's "raisin", and that means a weird browny/purple thing, and not my fav. But it was $10 less, and it's not horrid, and I didn't love the other "bright" colors either, and "midnight black" was as much of a risk as "dark purple". I use this as a preface to my review because, if you care about the color that much and raisin isn't your favorite shade, try another color. But that said... OMG! I already love this thing! it's easy to fill, it is SOOOOOOOO much faster than stovetop kettle (I had Le Creuset Zen model), and the stainless is so easy. I did a couple of test runs, and it is 2.5 minutes faster than stovetop for 2 cups of water (stovetop set at high). I also made soft-boiled eggs with the extra water. I put my room temp eggs in a pan, poured the boiling water over, and let sit for 8 minutes, no additional heat, and I got soft-boiled just the way I like them. I know 2.5 minutes savings' per day isn't going to save the world, but in a month, that's 75 minutes energy savings, and in a year, that's 900 minutes energy savings. Plus, I don't have to heat extra water for a soft-boiled egg. I'd highly recommend this kettle. I just have found no negatives (other than the not awesome raisin color, but that was my own choice, and some people may actually like the color). Also, I keep reading about rusting... stainless steel is called stainless because it's the least corrosive of all the metals, and with cookware and utensils it's great because it just doesn't normally rust. The inside of this kettle is 18/10 (that's the ratio of chromium to nickel and it's better than 18/8. Water can leave stains if there's a high rust content in your area. Also, hard water leaves its own kind of gunk. White vinegar rinse will help, and I always leave the top up and I don't leave water standing in mine because I hate the idea of stale water. So hope that helps anyone concerned about rust.

The PERFECT electric kettle!!!
Love my water kettle so much! For years I heated water in microwave for each cup of tea...so very inconvenient but seemed easier than using the quality tea kettle I own on stove top for each cup of tea. If u want boiling water for any reason, only a few xtra seconds and u have it! I have started using it to boil water for use in cooking as it is lightning fast. I heat the water in this amazing kettle, and then pour it into my cooking pan on stove top. With my new electric kettle, it is so easy to fill w water enough for several cups, and use it to heat water to perfect temp for each cup of tea. It does not get warm on the outside, anywhere, the toggle on/off switch is so easy to toggle on and the water gets heated to perfect temp in a snap...so much faster than my old kettle, which is NOT electric. This electric kettle is gorgeous for my kitchen counter and does not take up a burner on my stove. It is so lightweight in terms of use and I love that it separates from its heating element and is therefore cordless when I go to pour hot water into my tea cup. It is all stainless steel internally, so my heated water is not exposed to fumes from any plastic parts, including the spout, also stainless steel. The gorgeous light weight plastic is only on the exterior of kettle, which makes it very easy to lift and light weight. It is a clever and PERFECT design and reasonably priced for a very quality kettle, which truly does make my days easier. Thank you so much! I would buy another if needed and highly recommend! I drink tea all day long and this kettle makes the prep experience so much more pleasant. I used to dread the tea making process and now look forward to it as much as drinking tea. My only complaint is I would’ve preferred a white color, and tho u offer a pretty white one, it was unavailable at time of my order. Thank you very much for my awesome electric kettle!

A Big Dud! High hopes dashed. The search continues
UPDATE: Bummed I missed the return window by one day - the kettle is now relegated to "doesn't work as it should" - it rarely shuts off by itself after only a couple of weeks, and just keeps boiling endlessly until you manually switch if of or remove it from the base. Plus, it now randomly emits a high-pitched squealing when first turned on, with no rhyme or reason. A definitely waste of money and I will be purchasing a replacement brand/model stat! My search for a reliable and durable kettle continues. I had high hopes for this model, with specific British Strix Control to address issues I've repeatedly had with other models failing quickly with auto-shut off and the kettle-to-base connection failing. This kettle has been in use for less than a week and already the auto shut off is hit and miss. Often boiling on end and requires manual shut off. Color me not impressed and so far its not living up to the reported exceptional lifespan touted.

Worth Every Penny!
I had been searching for a new stove top tea kettle when I ran across this and it sounded too good not to try. I really love this little electric kettle! The water heats up so quickly and the auto shut off works great. No more waiting for the kettle to whistle. I can turn it on and feed the dog, and the water's hot by the time I'm done. Amazing! I only have two complaints: 1. I don't think the water gets hot enough. Don't get me wrong, it's boiling when I pour it into my cup. I'm a tea drinker and I like it strong. But by the time my tea has brewed in my cup, I end up having to reheat in the microwave a bit because the water has cooled so quickly that the tea is weak. My only thought is that it doesn't boil long enough. Once it comes to a boil, it immediately shuts off, so I'm wondering if it needs to boil a bit longer to make the water stay hot in my cup longer. This is by no means a scientific study! 2. I wish they had engraved the Max Fill line on both sides of the interior of the kettle. My faucet's on/off lever is on the right side. So to be able to turn off the water, I have to hold the pot in my left hand to fill. Unfortunately, the max fill line is printed on the other side of the pot, so I can't see it to know when to stop. If you're looking for a kettle that will save you time and money, this is the ticket! And the orange color is so bright and cheerful, and looks just like the picture on my monitor. My two complaints have somewhat easy work arounds, so all in all, I really do love my kettle!

Despite neg first impressions, kettle is perfect
Ultimately, we're totally pleased with the Secura 1.8 Quart Stainless Steel Electric Water Kettle Double Wall Cool Touch Exterior (Orange). It performs beautifully and has earned a spot on the countertop. This kettle does two things: it brings water to a boil, then turns itself off. As such, it will not keep water warm. You can not time it to turn on at a given time, nor will it stay on to keep your water at a given temp for a given time period. It boils the water. It turns off. That is all. You cannot forget and leave it turned on. You cannot boil it dry. You cannot damage a surface by setting it down after boiling water in it. That said, a few erroneous or uninformed perceptions initially turned me off of it: * Missing rubber pads? I took it out of the box and it appeared to be missing 2 of the 3 rubber pads on the bottom of the base to keep it from sliding around on the countertop. The User Instructions booklet is kind of vague, but only having 1 of the 3 pads is actually an intentional safety feature. The single pad prevents it from easily slipping off the counter *while* letting it pivot on the countertop without easily tipping over if it gets bumped. Although annoying if you have OCD, it actually works well. * It's big. Definitely bigger than I was wanting or expecting. As I was taking it out, I was thinking this is going to take up more space that I thought. I wish it were a bit more compact but it's performance and other safety characteristics make it worth it, without question. * And finally, the outside is plastic and feels kind of cheap. Again, when taking it out of the box for the first time, it doesn't *feel* like a quality product. However, the use of plastic on the outside contributes the unit being very usable and pourable when full of scalding hot water. All steel construction would probably have made it too heavy to pour safely. A few things I really like about it: * All of the outside stays cool (or slightly warm). When you pick it up off the base, right after boiling water, the bottom of the kettle is cool to the touch. You could set it down on any surface without damaging that surface. * Even full of water, it feels easy and accurate to pour. * There's very little electronics to tinker with or break. There is one, big, obvious switch that lights up when you press it on. That's it. * And all of this leads me to getting one for my older inlaws who have some specific mobility issues that make this kettle very easy for them to use safely.

Love the kettle and the customer service is amazing
I was looking for a kettle that had no plastic inside and when I found this one in dark purple (my favourite colour) I knew I didn’t need to look further. I ordered it and it came in a day. The inside is all metal as described and the plastic purple on the outside is both beautiful and keeps the outside of the kettle from getting too hot and accidentally burning yourself. I filled the kettle but when it reached a boil, it didn’t shut off and kept shaking for a minute. I wasn’t sure if it was defective or not and whether I should return it or exchange it so I contacted the company. They responded within 2 hours and informed me that my kettle was defective and offered multiple return options. Their customer service was top notch and had a resolution in less than a day. I did my exchange and now have my new kettle that works perfectly and makes very little noise. I’m so happy with it but I’m even happier knowing that if anything goes wrong the manufacturer will be helpful and timely in their responses.

Fantastic for use with well water
Love this kettle! Not just because it's my favourite colour but that it is so easy to clean calcium & limescale out of it. We are on a well & this well does have a fairly high level of minerals & calcium. Great for drinking but terrible for kettles! The wide opening is a big plus even my husband's hand can get in there & wipe out the interior. It's fast to boil & I love the fact that the interior is self contained so that if I choose to use a chemical descaler product there is no chance of the chemical leaking into an area & wrecking the kettle.... yes that has happened to me. This kettle is very loud compared to my previous 1500watt kettles but I contacted the company to see if mine was defective in some way. Had a response very quickly & apparently it is because of this particular design, my kettle tested in the normal range of decibels. It's not super loud just louder than we were used too. A very minor issue considering how great this kettle is in everything else. I only gave this kettle 4☆ because of a safety issue I have noticed. Now that we are aware of it we are careful. Beware of burning potential. When the kettle boils steam escapes up through the button on the handle & all up through the lid. I've been steam burned before, it is the nastiest type of burn you can get. It happens very fast & it continues burning through your skin layers longer than you might think. Please be careful when it boils! Once it is turned off the steam dissipates quickly.
