- Carrington Farms Organic Grass-Fed Ghee & Coconut Oil Blend, 12 oz

Love this product and its mix of coconut and ghee

We love this product... We use it in most all of our cooking... If you know about ghee you know that it's butter without the fat and coconut oil this type of coconut oil is good for you... I've been buying this product for years I usually buy from Carrington but they were out as it seems of the coconut oil and ghee so there were other sellers I chose one other one before I went with best global products unfortunately it was never delivered even though it said it was I sent a message to the company and they never responded so I contacted Amazon and their customer service is always so great great I wanted a replacement at first but seeing as this company did not respond I just wanted my money back which was given to me as an Amazon gift card which is fine but best global products I ordered on the day I was supposed to receive my other ghee... The expected delivery was supposed to be the 16th to the 18th.... But it was happily delivered today on the 14th so I was very happy about that if Carrington is out in the future I will definitely buy from this company again until all you out there who are curious about this product you need to try it out it's worth the money

Highly recommend

[Update below] I haven't a basis of comparison, haven't purchased a blend like this before, but I hoped for a pronounced buttery taste. I could just barely detect a butter flavor. I wanted to use it in place of butter on oatmeal and grits, in particular. Didn't work for me, when I added enough to be able to taste they were too oily. I like ghee, it's lighter and more flavorful- I think the proportion of ghee in this must be relatively small.Update: I added a star because I found I DO like it in dishes for which a little oil is customary, like pork-fried rice and stir-frys (and unlike porridge, rice and veggies don't absorb this blend, so you CAN taste the ghee, and a little goes a long way). I'm on a new low-fat vegetarian diet (experimenting) and made a version with brown rice, Soy TVP chunks (Barry Farms, so good) and a few peas. I didn't actually fry it, I added a tiny amount of this on the plate (not even a teaspoonful). I sprinkled with chives and a little onion salt, and it was very close to our family recipe, a favorite. So I've revised my opinion- I'm sure there will be other good uses too- (on popcorn?). I also like the packaging, it doesn't leak, and the fact that no refrigeration is required is nice for camping.

Great stuff, does not burn. Coconut taste is not transferred to food.

So I've now become health conscious and this is one of my replacements for butter and some spreads, this stuff is great too and I love the fact that it's grass-fed, that's like going back to the basics, oh wait, that is back to the basics.

I've been looking for a butter spread that my body can tolerate without bloating - since this one contains no lactose or casein, I thought I might try it. I read a lot of the reviews before purchasing. Many reviewers said that it will stay solid at room temp and doesn't need to be refrigerated. Maybe that is so if you live in the northern US, but I live in the deep south and in the late spring and summer months, coconut oil stays in a liquid state. So, this did arrive as a liquid and after leaving it on my kitchen counter, it was still a liquid - with the a/c on in my house set at 74 degrees. So, into the fridge it went to solidify. Second, many reviewers said it had no or a very mild coconut flavor. LIES!!!!!!!!! It has a very strong coconut taste, just like extra virgin coconut oil does. The taste of the ghee does not hide it. So, no spreading this on my toast or baked potato or any other savory food. It will only work for me in something sweet since I don't like coconut-y toast or potatoes or green beans, etc. Due to the strong coconut taste, I will not be purchasing again.

As a longtime keto follower, I add 2 tbsps to my hot beverage every morning to get my metabolism geared up. I use a frother to mix it into the hot beverage so theres no overwhelming oily feel to the drink & this product adds no taste to the beverage (but its also hot chai tea so you decide). I fell full well into the evening! havent tried it for cooking but I definitely find this product very useful!
