My dogs love the rawhide twists like this with chicken jerky on them, but they tend to swallow the rawhide sometimes leading to constipation. Now that I have found these edible versions, made of all chicken, I feel better about the safety. My dogs prefer these over the rawhides because they are a bit softer and the dogs are so small. Poodles this small tend to not be able to chew the same things larger dogs enjoy, so it's a rare day they enjoy a chew this much.

The Hartz Oinkies Real Meaty Chews Tender Twists with Real Chicken Breast have become one of my dog's favorite treats. The twists are made with real chicken breast and provide a tasty chew that keeps my dog occupied while satisfying the urge to chew. I appreciate that these treats are individually sized and easy to grab when rewarding good behavior or simply giving my dog a special snack. The texture is firm enough to last longer than many soft treats, but not so hard that my dog struggles to enjoy them. The large 72-count package offers excellent value, especially for multi-dog households or pet owners who like to keep treats on hand. The treats stay fresh in the resealable package and have quickly become a staple in our pantry.

My bernedoodle loves these. He’s a medium size (20 pound) dog and can eat them within a few minutes. He can handle them easily without choking but they aren’t long lasting. Still, a nice treat with some meat in them that he enjoys. He hasn’t had any stomach issues with these and likes both the beef and chicken equally. He gets excited for these and gets one a few times per week. For daily treats we prefer to give him something nutritious like freeze dried beef liver. The first ingredient is chicken. They have pig skin, wheat and rice flour in them. If your dog has a sensitive stomach I wouldn’t give too many bc they do have glycerin and sorbitol which can lead to diarrhea for sensitive dogs. The wheat and rice flour are “okay” in moderation. They do have some nutrients like B vitamins, iron and copper and provide some fiber. The rice flour is less nutritious but gluten free. I wish they didn’t have guar and xantham gum bc it offers no nutrition and can decrease nutrient absorption. These are just “fillers.” Overall, in moderation, these treats are okay and the price is good. There’s nothing really bad for dogs in these but if your dog has a sensitive stomach, these “might” not be the best choice. I also wouldn’t give these to any dog multiple times per day bc they lack any real nutrition and can cause stomach aches. But just like we eat a cookie or other treat that isn’t good for us once in a while, they also enjoy something different and tasty too.

My Lovie is a 4 pound morkie. She is so picky about treats and you know with a dog this size their teeth are not always able to choose certain things. My dog absolutely loves these. They are soft enough for her to chew maybe too soft lol just kidding. She loves them. They’re her favorite treat. I love how fast they come for the price too it’s just an amazing treat

My dog is incredibly selective about chew treats, which makes finding products she'll actually eat a challenge. After nine years of trying different brands, these Oinkies Tender Twists remain one of only two chew treats that she consistently loves. For reference, she is an 8-pound Shih Tzu/Toy Poodle mix with both a sensitive stomach and very strong opinions about what she will and won't eat. Most chews end up being ignored after a few tries, but these have stayed a favorite year after year. She gets excited every time she sees one and happily works on it for quite a while. They're one of the few treats that reliably hold her attention and keep her occupied. Just as importantly, they've never upset her stomach. Since she's sensitive to many foods and treats, that's a major plus for me. I've repurchased these countless times over the years because they consistently deliver exactly what I want in a chew: my dog loves them, they last a reasonable amount of time, and they don't cause digestive issues. That's a combination that's surprisingly hard to find.
