What is the length of the band that goes around the chest? I want the Large for my husband who is rather bulky.

Total measurement between Velcro tabs 42". To measure have your husband stand with arm at 90Â° angel. Measure 3" above his hand. The best thing about this stabilizer is you can put it on and take it off without assistance. Excellent appliance that promotes fast healing.

I'm a 5'9" woman with a 44DD chest. Would a large be big enough for me?

I measured my husbands arm and around his chest and it was 54" . I would suggest measuring around your body as the picture shows and go by that. My husbands was not overly large for him and I believe he had the large one. God Bless
