I have complex/oily skin so I was looking for something lighter. This is perfect for those hot, humid days.

Good for senstive skin!

(Ingredients list is at the bottom of this review.) It is my understanding that in Korean skincare, what is referred to as a "lotion" is usually what Americans might call an emulsion. In fact, I just noticed that it is referred to as an emulsion on the back of the box. An emulsion usually comes after toner and serums, but before moisturizers (lotions or creams). I believe that is the case with this product, and that is how I use it. I am really enjoying this SCINIC The Simple Daily Lotion. It is an excellent emulsion (or layering lotion), which provides a much-needed extra layer of soothing hydration and moisture for my dry, sensitive skin. I imagine that oily or combination skin types could use this product on its own as a main moisturizer under the right circumstances, but I think they might also enjoy it layered, because it soaks into the skin very quickly and easily. It doesn't leave a heavy layer on the skin. I like to layer it on before my more emollient moisturizing cream. This emulsion gives a nice, hydrated, healthy, dewy appearance to the skin. It layers well with other products, and it does not pill. It soaks in very easily, so it does not become too thick to layer, even with SCINIC's suggested 3-layer approach, which I find to work fairly well for my needs. I really love multiple layers of skincare (toner, serums, emulsion, moisturizer) in my routine, because it provides my skin with maximum hydration and moisture. Plus, I can simultaneously take advantage of lots of beneficial ingredients for my skin. To me, this emulsion is sort of a mix between a milky toner and a lightweight lotion. It is a thickened, yet very lightweight, fluid, lotion-like texture, which absorbs into the skin very quickly. It is smooth, cooling, and soothing to apply. The scent is very light and creamy. It's barely noticeable. Still, it provides a really nice sensorial experience. The packaging is nice, and makes it easy to dispense the product. A little goes a long way with this emulsion, so one 8.79 fl oz bottle will last quite a long time. At $33 for nearly 9 ounces, that is great value for money. This formulation seems like it would be great for any skin type, because it is such a simple, versatile product. I did not experience any irritation, reactions, or sensivities while using this emulsion, so I think it would be great for sensitive skin. It adds an extra layer of hydration and moisture, so dry skin would likely do well with this. Oily and combination skin could possibly use this alone or layered with another moisturizer, depending on the circumstances, and desired results. Overall, this is just the type of product that I was looking to add to my skincare routine, and I'm so happy that I gave this emulsion a try. I would recommend this emulsion to all skin types, and anyone looking to add an extra boost of soothing hydration, moisture, and antioxidants to their skincare routine. If I were going to change anything about this formulation, it would be this: I really like the formula, but it could add a little something extra for those with dry skin. I wish it didn't sink into the skin quite as thoroughly as it does. I wish it had a little more body to it, where it would leave a bit more of a layer of moisture on the surface of the skin, especially for the nighttime skincare routine. Because it does soak in fairly thoroughly; Though, layering helps. But I'm sure many people would be really happy with this level of moisture. If SCINIC were to make a slightly thicker, more emollient version of this emulsion specifically for those with dry skin (or specifically for nighttime use), I would buy it. I think we need both versions. That would be the best of both worlds for all skin types, and all times of day or night. A NOTE TO SCINIC: It would be wonderful to add accurate, full ingredient lists to all of your products listed on Amazon. It would go a long way toward helping your customers save time and make informed decisions without any hesitations or uncertainties. Thank you! INGREDIENTS: Water, Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Vinyl Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Nymphaea Alba Flower Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Butylene Glycol, Madecassoside, Cetearyl Olivate, Carbomer, Sorbitan Olivate, Tromethamine, Sodium Hyaluronate.

Would I get it again or recommend it and why: Yes. It's a fragrance-free, irritant-free very gentle moisturizer with a very nice silky texture due to the high silicone content. It feels very good on the skin and is soothing and the price is competitive per ounce. Ingredients: Water, propanediol, pentylene glycol, vinyl dimethicone, glycerin, cetyl ethylhexanoate, nymphaea alba flower extract, aloe vera leaf extract, butylene glycol, madecassoside, cetearyl olivate, carbomer, sorbitan olivate, tromethamine, sodium hyaluronate I put the ingredients listing through Incidecoder's skincare ingredient encyclopedia to check for hidden fragrant or irritating ingredients. Here is an ingredient list of the major ingredients by function: -Antioxidant: Madecassoside -Skin-identical ingredient: Glycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate -Soothing: Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Madecassoside -Emollient: Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract -Moisturizer/humectant: Propanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Glycerin, Aloe Vera Leaf Extract, Butylene Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate Standout Ingredients: hyaluronic acids, aloe Note: If checked in Paula Begoun's skincare encyclopedia, there appears to be a mistake saying that it's fragrant. It is not. There is no detectable fragrance or scent or fragrant ingredient. Pros: -Fragrance-free. No fragrance, perfume, essential oils or fragrant plant oils. I did not detect any scent at all to this. This is safe for those sensitive to or allergic to fragrances. -Irritant and alcohol free. No added irritating ingredients or dyes. -Very simple formula that should be safe for allergy sufferers and those with sensitive skin. -The price is reasonable for the formula, ingredients, size. The price per ounce is comparable to other moisturizers. -Good for face, hands and body moisture. Though for very dry hands you may need something heavier. -I have very sensitive skin and did not have any issues with itching, burning, stinging, redness or irritation during or after application. Formula Texture: It is a white, non-opaque lotion like texture. It's in the low-middle range for thickness, it's on the thinner side. It’s not a cream but a lotion. -It has a very silky feel due to the high dimethicone in it. Personally, I really enjoy this type of texture and like to use high dimethicone moisturizers as makeup primers. -It applied very nicely and spread over the skin easily. -It sunk into the skin very quickly compared to many other facial moisturizers. -It left my skin feeling moisturized. I'd call this a light to mid level moisture. It's not super light but it is not heavy either. It would be good for normal to moderate dry skin. -It might not be enough for very dry skin. I'd suggest adding a petroleum based product over it at night (skincare "slugging") (like Vanicream in the tub, Aquaphor, Vaseline, Cerave Healing, etc...) if your skin is very dry. Even if your skin is normal, skincare layering and "slugging" often is helpful to lock in moisture. -The dispenser (opening in the top, you have to squeeze the bottle but it is easy to squeeze) doesn't over dispense. A little goes a long way with this moisturizer. A pea size or less should treat your entire face. -It's protected from bacteria by not being in a tub but in a bottle. Cons: -Allergy alert: It does have aloe vera in it (for those who are allergic). -Because this is a K-Beauty (Korean) product, the ingredients are not listed in English on the bottle. I had to clip it off the outer container and use a clear elastic hair tie to attach it to the bottle. -It would have been better had the bottle not been see through but opaque to protect the ingredients from light better. -It would have been better to have a small pump dispenser. It is usable in the bottle as it is, but it would have been nice to have a dispenser vs have to squeeze the bottle. Final Thoughts: This is going to be added to my skincare regular rotation. It's one of the silkier moisturizers due to the high silicone content. It will make a nice makeup primer due to the high silicone content. If you like the weight and texture of other gentle formulas such as Cerave PM, Vanicream facial moisturizer, The Ordinary Moisturizing Factors, this is one to try as well. It reminds me a little of Cerave Baby Lotion (vs the cream) (I love both and use them as makeup primer due to the silicone content.)

The lotion's texture is thin, which is easy to absorb. Does not leave any greasy or sticky residue on skin. No scent. What I don't like about this is there is no English version of the ingredient, everything are in Korean. All I can see is this is a mild acidic daily lotion with a pH of 5.5. Next is the bottle is a screwed cap bottle. Bottle is hard plastic and can not squeeze, so the only way to get the lotion out of the bottle is to wait for the lotion to drip out. Dear the manufacture, please make this in a squeeze tube or a pump bottle cap, it will make this lotion a lot more practical.
