Radio Controlled WV-59RD-1AEF Mens Wristwatch

This watch is the best I've ever owned. I don't wear a watch as a status symbol, so the chunky, designer type things were never a temptation for me. I have a Seiko automatic that I also love, but this beauty is my everyday watch. I just think it looks amazing, so much better than the round versions - why have a circular watch with a digital display? It has clear, large digits, and it updates reliably every night to the exact second. I think it has pretty decent water resistance and all the usual alarm and timer functions, but I don't use them. I think it looks rather good, too.July 2023 update: still a pristine shiny face, no scratches. I didn't mention the strap adjustment you'll undoubtedly need to make.First off, to make it all easier, detach the strap from the body of the watch, so you have a flat stage to work on. Use a pin to push a spring bar out of its housing. Pull out 3 links. You'll need fine point tweezers or a small point screwdriver to edge them out from a small gap within the inside of the strap.. when you see it you'll know. Try to push outwards from the gap, and a flat link- head should start to appear from the strap. Then pliers to remove. You might be able to do this by hand. It'll be worth it. You'll get a fine two pronged bracket. Pull it out, wiggle and twist until the link escapes - again, you might feel like you're doing damage, but you're not. Removing a link and putting the strap back together is then intuitive. Replace the strap onto the body of the watch with skill, depressing the small bar till it fits back into the slot! Prior to buying this, I chopped and changed frequently, but almost a year on and I've worn it every day. I'd still absolutely recommend this wave ceptor. I just looked for a plastic strap version as a second, but it seems none available. Now a sizeable p+p charge too.

An excellent, sturdy watch and very comfortable on the wrist. Please note that you will lose the Wave Ceptor feature if the battery becomes low, and/ or the light might stop working also.This is not a fault with the product; merely a sign that the battery needs replacement (just use a good quality one e.g. Panasonic). Good stuff..

I just love this watch. It’s easy to read display is great and the radio signal time keeping works. If you like Casio you’ll like this.

Had one when they originally came out happy with purchase obviously very accurate with it being radio controlled

The negatives are as follows: the case/lugs are plastic, it's a pity it's not stainless steel at this price point. The stop watch only times up to one hour. There are many watches out there that have 24hr timers (both Casio and from competitors).The positives: it's radio controlled so accuracy guaranteed! The usual Casio extras such as alarm, hourly signal, an orange backlight and calendar which can be set as either DD/mm or mm/DD. Overall I'd recommend this watch, it looks smart enough to be worn for business, the stainless steel bracelet looks great and is quite comfortable, I have a slightly chubby wrist and I still had to remove quite a few links which is reassuring.

I have been using Casio Wave Ceptor watches for many years and have found them to be excellent.I have never needed to change a battery, wear one for rough work as an agricultural engineer, have broken some of them accidently due to the work I do and possibly not looking after them as I should.I clean them in a bowl of hot water with washing up liquid and a nail brush.I always have the correct time, even when I change time zones.I could not wish for more.Tony Morris.

Radiopilotage = la meilleure technologie à l'heure actuelle. Un mystère difficile à percer est de comprendre pourquoi on continue de vendre encore autant de montres NON radiopilotées...!Affichage numérique = résistance aux chocs bien meilleure que celle des montres radiopilotées à aiguilles (lesquelles, outre leur fragilité, requièrent une fastidieuse procédure de synchronisation des aiguilles lorsqu'on change la pile).Bracelet métallique = facilité et longévité (seul point qui sera à surveiller: la résistance à la corrosion; il est censé être en acier inoxydable mais sa qualité n'est pas spécifiée). Dans cette gamme de prix, il est exclu d'espérer un bracelet en titane ou en céramique.Personnalisation et programmation = meilleures que dans les anciennes montres radiopilotées de cette marque (le calendrier couvre tout le 21ème siècle, le français fait partie des langues et l'affichage de date à la française - jour, mois, année - est même possible!).L'alimentation par simple pile n'est peut-être pas aussi smart qu'une alimentation solaire mais ce n'est pas gênant vu la longévité des piles et les doutes qui pourraient être émis à propos de la durée de vie des batteries équipant les montres solaires.L'encombrement n'est pas aussi discret ni design que dans le cas des montres de marques plus onéreuses mais on évite très heureusement, à mon humble avis, l'aspect massif horrible pour ne pas dire monstrueux de bon nombre d'autres montres proposées par cette marque-ci.Globalement : ce modèle est un excellent choix que l'on ne risque pas de regretter car il semble de plus en plus difficile de trouver des modèles radiopilotés à affichage numérique. Pour une soixantaine d'euros, c'est carrément unique.

Reçu rapidement , je recommande cette montre de marque connu mise à jour automatique très rapide au bout de quelques minutes minutes. La réception DCF est très bonne.

The package was not appropriately sealed, but the watch is great. It fits well on my wrist. Adjusting the metal bracelet required a very small screwdriver and a lot of patience.
