Can I shut out display completely during night time?

You would have to unplug it to get the display to turn off. There’s no way to do what you are asking(at least that I’ve found) and it is quite bright.

Does countdown timer have silent mode once it hits zero? I want to use it for speaking, but don't want it to beep once it gets to zero

Not sure but the beep is so quiet no one will hear it anyway. It only gives 3 very fast short beeps. You can always disconnect the pizza alarm. It is easy to get to.

I have never heard any kind of buzzer. We use mine fir speaking on TV and videos.

Dose it work in cold weather 15 to 30 degrees

My clock is positioned in my office about six inches above a flat screen TV. The temperature in the office fluctuates but never falls below 65 degrees Fahrenheit or above 80 degrees. At that range of temperatures, the clock hasn’t skipped a beat. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to any temperature below 65.
