You could just spray with antibacterial soap and rinse in hot water. And it will be well sanitized and sterilized.

i ordered these, package arrived cut open with no brushes inside. how do i get this resolved?

Call customer service asap. If the packing list is still inside make sure you have it when you call. If it's missing too then have the shipping label on the package. They will want numbers off of it. If you paid with a credit card, call your card company and explain it to the as well so they can take that charge off of your acct.
