Q: Does this board repell water?

I have been using these in my Art class for 5 years now. No warping. They are great.

Q: Any surface prep prior to oul painting ? Roughing surface, gesso?

I have not painted it. I use it for water coloring. I tape my paper down onto the board and it helps to prevent warping of the paper

Q: Will this stop watercolors page bleed through on my adult coloring books?

I don't see how it could!. I use it to tape down watercolor paper, to keep it from buckling from the water. It is used by my students to transport their watercolor pictures home and back to school.
