the slide board provides a fantastic cardio workout
I bought the slide board to help strengthen my legs for cycling to be honest and use it when the weather really doesn't allow you to get out on the road - living in England, it will be used quite a lot. The board itself turned up 5 days ahead of its scheduled delivery date which was pleasing, in a smaller than expected box, neatly packed in the travel bag but ready to use. When I first unrolled the board the ends were slightly curled down, which is to be expected but after a few uses it soon flattened out and is now perfectly flat. The board allows me to do exactly what I bought it for, which is to perform a squat at the end of each slide on 'that side' leg and then push up and off into the slide to the other side etc etc. Not only does it work every muscle from your glutes all the way down to your toes, the slide board provides a fantastic cardio workout. The board itself seems well made - the stopping blocks are big enough to do their job without being over bearing - the sliding area has a good balance of slip and resistance when using the provided 'booties' to perform a controlled slide without slipping over. The anti slip rubber underside, when used on wood flooring or tiles, holds the slide board in position perfectly without any sidewards movement. In short, it does exactly what it says it does, plus you can take it anywhere. I would recommend this to any one who wishes to exercise their body from the hips down.

Good concept and well executed
We bought this Slide Board for our 11 year old son who started getting into Ice Hockey. He's somewhat late in the game (no pun intended) so he needs to improve his side-to-side stick handling. We started looking around for a slide board and this one seemed like a promising option. We weren't sure what to expect as there weren't too many reviews when we bought it, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality. The slide board itself feels very sturdy and well built. It's been two weeks since we got it for him and so far so good. The booties are made out of lycra and they're good quality as well, which is an important detail as the cheaper ones don't slide so well. We bought this for hockey training, not for the other workouts, but my wife (who hits the gym 3-4 times a week) got all into it two days after it arrived and it actually seems like a pretty good workout all around (the bottom part sticks to the floor and the slide board itself is very slippery, especially if you're wearing the booties, so exercising on it is very effective). I'm quite pleased with this purchase and would recommend it.

It's cheap
It's clear I got a return. The box itself was badly retaped which made me suspicious from the get-go and sure enough there were no booties at all. What to make of that. Thank you Amazon for your return policy. I've used an old Rebook slide for years and compared to those these are pieces of junk. If you're really gonna go for sliding do yourself a favor and spend more money if that's what it takes to move up from this. Only advantage is portability. I recommend it. Sliding is one of the best things you can do for getting old. I'm 77 and I approve this message.

For adults get the 7.5ft, for kids, the 6ft
So first off, I don't play hockey, or skate that much, but I do know how. The purpose of the slide board for us is lateral leg strengthening, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. It is one component of a multi-sport exercise regimen. I picked this board because people said it was good quality, and the price was right for the quality reviews. The quality of the product is good- it needs to have weights on it the first few days it is out of the box because it curls up, but that settles down. The surface is low friction, and the booties make sliding easy. You need to wear shoes with the little bootie covers because the bumpers on the board become uncomfortable for bare feet to hit after a few slides. I bought the 6 ft (actually 5'7" between the bumpers) and it was too small. I am 5'10, my friend is 6'2, we both felt constrained by the short distance before the opposite bumper. Missed some of the force otherwise required to get to the far side, and reduced the workout on the legs. Another 1-2 feet to push and it would be perfect as a fitness tool. Returning for the 7.5ft item, same price. Smaller people/kids, people who don't skate often, or those working on balance technique may be fine with the smaller board. I don't know if the short distance between the bumpers would be better for someone training for hockey, when short strokes on the skates and stick handling technique matters most- but like i said, that's not what I do. I would imagine if you are in hockey enough to want one of these, a coach could give guidance on the right distance.

Easy, fun, great work out!
I bought this to strengthen my skating muscles for a Roller Derby. It arrived about 20 minutes ago, I unboxed it, slapped it on the floor, put on my trainers and slipped the booties on over them. I am 52 years old, 5‘3“ tall and 115 pounds. The 6 foot length is definitely not too long for me. On the first few strides I could not reach the stopper at end but bending my knees more, tightening my core and putting more force into it, I make it end to end with no problem. It’s really really fun! because it’s shipped rolled up, there was initially a curve at both ends. I didn’t bother to try to roll it in the opposite direction. I used it like that and it flattened out within a minute or two, no problems. I love that this is working my core, quads, abductors/adductors and glutes. This is exactly what I needed. I will say that because I am pretty clumsy, I will probably use this with my skate helmet on. 😅

Really great! I got the 7.5 ft...should have gotten the 6 ft, but I was able to put a block on either side, and now I am getting so good at this I am going to be taking the blocks off! Ps. I am a 62 year old lady, and 5' 7" tall.

This is a great item on its own or as an addition to another exercise routine. It is perfect for low impact exercise. I now use it to take a break from the treadmill and stationary bike and it fits in perfect! I won’t go into great detail about the muscle groups, but if you have ever skated you get the idea. It definitely works different muscles than the two machines I mentioned above. As far as the board and booties go, they are great quality and work much better than I expected. I was skeptical about a compact “travel” exercise board, but this item exceeded my expectations. It took a little getting used to because the board is definitely slippery, but once I got the hang of it the exercises went well. It also took a couple of tries to roll it back up, but once I got the knack it was much easier the second time. The instruction booklet gives you some basic exercises that are pretty standard, but you can search YouTube for more in-depth instructional videos. Overall, this is a great item for those looking to practice some skating skills, get into a low impact exercise, or add to their current routine. The bonus being that it is very portable and it “sticks” well to hardwood and carpet (I have both). My only complaint is that it was supposed to come with bonus “gifts” and they are nowhere to be found. Not a reflection on the quality of the item, but the package was not as advertised for sure. Therefore, I am giving this a 4 star review. If everything came as advertised in the pictures and description, I would give it a 5. Keep this in mind if you are planning on ordering. I was contacted by the company and asked to test this product. Once completed, I gave the above review based on my findings.

Love this product. The price is right and you certainly get your sweat on. Cheaper than a gym membership and you can supplement your workouts with weights.

Do not buy if you weight over 200 pounds and have some power in your legs. When pushing on the stopper to slide, the stopper only retained by 4 screws without spacers came completely off. That in only in 15 min of use , AVOID if you weight and push hard !!!
