The red wire goes to the device that you want to turn on and the black to that Device

If you are stating the chassis is battery plus, then it should work, but would need to cycle your negative signals to control coils. John Deere 60 tractors have a positive chassis methodology, so might need to investigate how they operate to verify implementation.
