This is such a simple yet effective way of teaching little ones basic English and Math. In the box you get two ring bound books with bright, colourful and simple to use/understand pages that allow your little one to use the light-up interactive hot dots pen to find the correct answer. The pen itself requires 2 AA batteries (not included) and can either be used simply with the light - red for wrong and green for correct - or you can add sound to it also but if I'm honest, this got annoying really fast!I like that it can be used with an adult or as a tool for independent learning and with the self corrections, should allow a little one to get a grasp of basic math and English fairly easily and quickly. Not the cheapest to buy but does make learning fun and interactive which usually gets little one's more interested and could be used for multiple little ones say in a classroom setting.

In this set you get:- 2 spiral bound Hot Dots workbooks designed to interact with the Hot Dots interactive pen: one aimed at early Literacy, the other at Mathematics- One Hot Dots reader penThe pen requires two AAA batteries to run, and these are not included. The system is clear, simple and easy to use. Each book has a series of questions targeted at early reading or maths tasks. A series of multiple choice answers are then given, each with a pen-readable dot next to it – simply hold the pen over the correct dot to identify the answer. If you get it right, the end of the pen lights up in green; get it wrong and the end of the pen turns red. There is also an option to add sound effects to the lights – a descending noise if you get it wrong, a cheerful jingle when right.The reading book includes activities based around: lower and uppercase letters; identifying the letter sound that starts a particular word; identifying ending letter sound; rhymes; and logical progression in stories.The maths book features activities that include: counting and number recognition; comparing most and least; sequences of numbers between 1 and 10; pattern recognition; knowledge of shapes; comparing this by size using comparatives and superlatives (smaller and bigger; and small, larger, largest/large, smaller, smallest); colour matching; matching more than one thing of the same colour; and identifying things that are different.These are good and basically reusable workbooks. The activities are well laid-out and in line with the content of the top end of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The books come with sets of star stickers and instructions to add one of these to a page when the page has been completed. If you ignore this nonsense, and just award a star and keep a record of what has been completed then the book is completely reusable between children in a class or multiple children at home.This came with largely recyclable packaging, although the box was sealed with three large stickers (one would probably have sufficed), and the pen wrapped in a plastic bag.

Its a lovely gift. However the pen is turning red on answers that should be green as for right.

It is a bit easy pieces lemon squeeze for kids over 4years old if they already knows number, counting and alphabet. For new starter they needs accompany with adults as they have not got sounds on the pen, it only shows green light if answer is correct, red light if answer is wrong.If pen tap to the word and it could pronounce out the sound that would be great, kids can learn by themselves.I give 5 star to Durability as it still looks brand new since we had it.

The media could not be loaded.  Brilliant bit of kit the set includes 2 books reading and math and 1 answer penThe pen takes 2 AAA batteries not included.There is a volume button on the side to put volume on or off there is a couple different volume settings but both sound the same volume to me it's not overly loud at allThe books have pages and pages of activitys in them and you use the pen to press down on the black answer dots. Using the tip of the pen till it presses in if you have the correct answer the end of the pen goes green makes a happy noise if you have the answer incorrect it goes red.I have no idea how it works and picks up the correct answers but 100% works every time.The pages of the books are like a thick card and can be wiped clean if anything is spilt on them.A fun interactive learning toy for young children my son is 5y.o and he loves it its simple to use nothing to confusing.

This hot dots pen is a really clever way of learning. Inside the box is;1 Hot Dots pen, and 2 50-page spiral-bound activity books. Pen requires 2 AAA batteries (not included). The pen can be used with the book and it magically reads what you point it too as well as gives feedback to an answer that you can give to a question. It is great for children learning numbers/how to count as well as letters. There are lots of activities to do and the books are well written and laid out.We have used something similar with the leapfrog pen and my only hope is that there will be more books available to use with this pen so that it isn’t a short lived toy.

Infatti i comandi nei vari esercizi di matematica e lettura sono in inglese. Ciononostante circa la metà degli esercizi proposti non abbisognano di un comando da capire, ma piuttosto si viene portati dalla logica.Il prodotto lo consiglio solo a quei bambini che possono avere affianco qualcuno che spieghi loro cosa fare su ogni esercizio, ma non lo vedo adatto ad un bambini che opera in autonomia.La penna ha quattro suoni da poter selezionare in caso di risposta giusta o sbagliata, più una modalità silenziosa, nella quale si illumina di rosso o verde solo il cupolino,senza emettere suono.

Mein Neffe verlässt nun langsam den Kindergarten und ist schon ganz aufgeregt auf die Schule, die dieses Jahr beginnt.Er wollte unbedingt schon anfangen zu lernen, aber was soll man einem Kind auf die Vorbereitung der Schule beibringen? Ich habe mich auf Social Media rumgefragt und mir wurde dieses Learning Resources Hot Dots Homeschooling-Set 1 – Lesen und Mathematik – von Learning Resources empfohlen. Ich dachte um ehrlich zu sein, dass das etwas hoch gegriffen ist und vielleicht überfordert für die kleine sein könnte, schließlich ist da auch schon englisch dabei. Aber alle versicherten mir, dass das nicht so schwer sei und meine Tochter sich dann langsam in die englische Sprache reinfinden kann. Nun gut.. also bestellt.Die Lieferung hat 2 Tage gedauert und voller Freude packt sie folgendes aus:-1 Hot Dots-Stift (der Stift benötigt 2 AAA-Batterien)-1 Aktivitätsbuch in Spiralbindung Mathe (50 Seiten)-1 Aktivitätsbuch in Spiralbindung Englisch (50 Seiten)Im Lieferumfang sind keine AAA-Batterien enthalten, also bitte vorsorgen.Die Öffnung für die Batterien geht mühelos ein und danach kann der Spaß fürs Kind schon beginnen.Der Stift leuchtet grün und rot. Grün für richtig und rot für falsch. Zudem macht er noch ein richtig oder falsch Geräusch beim drücken der Antworten. Wenn es einen Nerven sollte, kann man das aber abstellen.Meiner Meinung nach sind 40€ schon viel und für insgesamt 100 Seiten, wovon das Kind am Anfang erstmal nur 50 Seiten verstehen kann.Als Kind kann man sich damit super selbst beschäftigen und meiner Tochter macht das wirklich viel Spaß zu lernen. Bei englisch sitze ich natürlich noch mit und helfe ihr, aber mit dem Mathebuch kommt sie soweit gut zurecht, da es selbsterklärend ist.Der Stift ist gut für Kinderhände geeinigt und geht nicht so leicht kaputt. Er besteht aus Plastik.Die Farben und Bilder sind super dargestellt und perfekt für Kinder.Ich denke schon, dass es für jedes Kind ein schönes Lernset sein kann und man damit viel Spaß und Freude hat.Damit kann man den Kindern das lernen „verschönern“Ich würde es auf jeden Fall auch weiter empfehlen, trotz des Preises.Es fördert den Spaß be lernen (besonders im Bereich Rechnen und lesen), durch dem interaktiven Hot Dots-Stift mit Lichtsignal. auMit den Spiralbüchern wird diese Mathe- und Lese-Aktivitäten gefördert (auf eine lustige Art und Weise).Das gute daran ist, dass sowohl Farben als auch Licht mit ins Spiel genommen werden. Das sorgt immer für einen besonders guten Lernprozess.Die Anwendung ist für jedes Kind verständlich:Man hält den interaktiven Hot Dots-Stift mit Lichtsignal auf einen Punkt und wähle anschließend die richtige Antwort aus (es handelt sich um Multiple-Choice-Fragen). Für jede korrekte oder falsche Antwort gibt der Stift eine „Rückmeldung“.Alles in einem ist es ein wirklich super Set. Das Kind lernt selbständig und mit Spaß zu lernen. Cette boîte contient 2 cahiers à grosses spirales et un stylo interactif. Chaque cahier comprend 50 pages cartonnées. Chaque cahier est muni d'une planche de stickers en forme d'étoile, que l'enfant doit coller en haut de la page quand il a réussi les exercices.Le premier cahier est consacré à la lecture. Il faut trouver la première lettre de l'objet dessiné. Les lettres sont écrites en majuscule et en minuscule. Lorsque l'enfant a trouvé la lettre, il appuie sur le petit point avec le stylo interactif pour indiquer sa réponse. Le stylo est lumineux, une lumière verte indique une bonne réponse et une lumière rouge indique une mauvaise réponse. Le stylo est muni également d'effets sonores qui peuvent être désactivés. Le stylo fonctionne avec 2 piles AAA non fournies.Un deuxième cahier est consacré aux maths. Une partie consiste à compter le nombre d'objets et de trouver le bon chiffre ou nombre. Il faut ensuite compléter logiquement une suite dobjet, trouver l'objet le plus gros, le plus petit, le plus long, le plus court.....Les cahiers sont bien adaptés aux enfants de 4-5ans, mais ces cahiers sont en anglais et ne sont pas forcément adaptés à des enfants de langue française.

Ho intenzionalmente evidenziato nel titolo della mia recensione che:a) si tratta di un gioco di apprendimento in “lingua inglese” e cheb) NON sono incluse le 2 batterie AAA necessarie per il funzionamento della pennaperché, se volete regalarlo ad un bambino/a che non conosce o che non sta ancora imparando la lingua inglese (oltre a non poterci giocare per la mancanza delle batterie!), rischiate di provocargli/le una grande delusione!!!!Ho apprezzato i sigilli adesivi presenti sulla confezione, il che significa che non è stata manomessa da altre persone e che (si suppone) siano presenti tutti gli elementi del gioco (es: penna, libri, schede, ecc….).Lo considero un buon “gioco educativo” o, per meglio dire, strumento di apprendimento dal momento che il bambino impara giocando e divertendosi allo stesso tempo; non solo, ma é un gioco che aiuta lo sviluppo del ragionamento e delle capacitá cognitive.È ovvio che se il bambino è alle primissime esperienze con la lingua inglese, all’inizio i suoi giochi saranno solo quelli ove sono presenti figure ed immagini (per esempio da associare) o comunque in cui c’è una sequenza logica da seguire. In ogni caso il gioco è semplice, facile da usare ed intuitivo.In generale lo considero un valido gioco educativo tuttavia, visto l’eccessivo prezzo di vendita di € 35,15, mi sarei aspettata quantomeno di trovare le due batterie AAA in dotazione all’interno della scatola (unico motivo per cui ho attribuito 4 stelle)!!!

The media could not be loaded.  Deux livrets d'apprentissage avec un stylo sonore et lumineux :✏ Le plus intéressant est le fait d'utiliser le stylo interactif pour stimuler l'envie chez l'enfant d'apprendre : la lumière est rouge lors d'une mauvaise réponse et verte pour une correcte. Les sons diffèrent également donnant un peu un rythme au fil des pages.✏ Les livrets sont de qualité : les pages sont assez épaisses, la reliure en spirale permet de tourner facilement les pages.✏ Les exercices sont illustrés et intéressants✏ Un livret centré sur les bases mathématiques et l'autre pour la lecture (en anglais...)MAIS〰 Piles non incluses.〰 Texte en anglais〰 Incohérence de la croissance de l'apprentissage〰 Stylo volumineux pour des mains enfantinesCe jeu n'est pas vraiment adapté pour des Francophones mais destinés plutôt pour des bilingues ou anglophones néanmoins, accompagné par un adulte, il est possible de de guider l'enfant. Le jeu est de qualité bien illustré donc je n'enlève qu'une étoile.
