Can I make tiny strings just like Sri Lankan string hoppers?

Yes we can make different size. We are using this to make Idiyappam.

Is this dishwasher safe?

I haven’t put mine in the dishwasher. I bought the brass one and not the stainless steel. Hand washing in warm soapy water worked well for me.

Can I make Sri Lankan string hoppers with this?

You absolutely can. After you have kneaded the dough, you can add it to this kitchen tool and using the plates with the medium holes, you can make the string hoppers to steam.
