MoroccanOil really hit it out of the park with their holiday gift sets this year. This Magic of Repair set is awesome.I have naturally wavy hair that is color-treated, has some heat damage and, especially in the dryer winter months, is prone to dryness and breakage. I feel like most of these things make me a good candidate for anything promising to repair hair.The first thing to note is that all of these products are heavily scented in MO's signature scent. *I* happen to love this scent and I appreciate it when washing washing styling product fragrances all match. Any MO fan will likely love this. But it's probably not ideal for someone who is highly sensitive to fragrances, as it's pretty intense.Items in this kit are full-size, which is fantastic. So you'll get a full-sized shampoo, hair mask and heat protector spray, along with a small bottle of the signature hair oil.The *only* minor quibble I have with this kit is that it doesn't include conditioner, and the mask doesn't have enough slip to function as a conditioner alone. (In fact, instructions specifically say to apply, wait, rinse out and follow up with conditioner.) I usually prefer to add conditioner to any mask that doesn't have enough slip to let me easily brush my hair in the shower. Now, luckily, I happen to have some MO conditioner on hand already. So I just added a little of that. But if I hadn't had it, I would have needed to use another brand's conditioner just to complete my in-shower wash day routine and brush my hair through while I washed. Not a deal-breaker, but it does detract from the "I like it when all my products smell the same" factor. Given the choice, I think I'd rather this kit included conditioner, mask and styling mist. I'd rather give up the shampoo and just use whatever.The heat protectant styling mist was a pleasant surprise. I have used it both when styling wavy and straight and I feel it did a great job of protecting my hair both ways. I often find that some products do better with one style or the other. Only rarely do I reach for the same heat protectant for both. But I do now. I quite like this spray.In addition to great MO products, you'll also get a generously-sized, soft, velvety zip bag with metal accents and MO logo fabric lining. I've gotten lots of holiday sampler kits like this before but these feel different because of the high-quality bags they come in and the full-sized products inside.This is a great set and it would make a fantastic gift for any MoroccanOil fan.

I have thin bleached blonde hair that was further damaged by an unfortunate incident testing a new flat iron with a different brand of heat protectant. I have a relative who is a hairdresser and she said not to trust any brand except the MoroccanOil. She also told me to begin using a bonding mask so to prevent further breaking after the hairs were cinged off. Buying this set is a better value than buying items individually AND you also get a repair shampoo and a small bottle of MoroccanOil treatment oil (just under a quarter size of the regular bottle).Here is my thoughts on the products and how I use them:Repair Shampoo: I had never tried the MoroccanOil repair shampoo. This product lathers well and has the signature light MoroccanOil scent you expect. It does a decent job of removing oil and dirt from my scalp without making my hair feel greasy (it does contain silicones so you may want to swap with other shampoos from time to time such as a clarifying shampoo, so that you don’t get buildup). My hair feels soft and manageable after using this shampoo.Restorative Repair Mask: This is a super thick hair mask that is similar to a bonder. After shampooing and towel drying your hair, apply a decent amount from mid shaft down to ends of hair and leave on for 5-7 minutes (I generally leave on for 7 and put a shower cap on so that it adds a little heat from my head). After you rinse out, condition your hair as usual. I really love this hair mask. I see can a dramatic improvement in my hair - it doesn’t look fried anymore after using this about 2x a week for a month. My hair is stronger and the texture feels improved too. Make sure you don’t leave this in your hair for longer than directed since the protein in it could cause damage. This has the signature scent - I really love this product although it is pricy. I find it very similar to the B3 Bond Builder or Olaplex home bond building products.MoroccanOil Defense:Use this heat protectant spray on towel dried hair before blow drying or when dry before using any heated styling devices (irons/brushes/etc). This product is a thin clear liquid which dries quickly in your hair. Shake the can well before spraying, hold 5-6 inches from your head, give yourself a good coating and then work a comb through to make sure that the product is applied evenly. Also remember not to turn your iron up too high - don’t be me and melt your hair! This still has the typical MoroccanOil scent but you also get an alcohol sort of scent mixed in too. If you are adding heat to your hair, you should be using this product or at least some other product with a similar protectant in it. I won’t go without this spray anymore! I haven’t had any more damage since I switched to this brand of spray.MoroccanOil Light Treatment:You can use this (in addition to Defense) before blow drying or it can be used after your hair is already dried to condition it, get rid of frizz, and make your hair more shiny. You only need a tiny amount, so be careful when tipping the bottle (hold it tightly against your hand so that only a little comes out). The bottle doesn’t come with any sort of dropper or applicator, but as long as you are careful it’s ok. Work it mid length through ends of your hair shafts (stay away from your roots so that you don’t apply a lot of oil to your scalp). This product smells so good (and it lingers more than the other items in this set) and the oil works like a charm to make my hair more manageable and look less crazy. I have shoulder length hair which is frizzy unless I help it out with this oil.This set is better priced than buying each item individually, and you get a beautiful aqua velvet storage bag with metal zippers also (great if you are traveling!) All in all, I love everything about this set. I’d recommend it for anyone who has damaged hair, especially hair color damage. It would make a great gift too.

After bleaching my hair two months ago, it was not the same. My hair was dull, brittle, and dry after going lighter. When I saw this set, I knew I had to try it out and see if it brought back some life and softness to my hair.This set includes four products: Perfect Defense Protector, Moisture Repair Shampoo, Restorative Hair Mask, and a mini Moroccan Oil Treatment.- The Perfect Defense Protector: This adds a great scent to my hair and shine. It also helps protect my hair from heat damage when using hot tools to style it.- The Moisture Repair Shampoo: This product was the least impressive one out of the whole set. It cleaned my hair well and added a nice scent but I did not notice any drastic results after using it. I think it works best when used in conjunction with the other products.- The Restorative Hair Mask: This is a lovely hair mask. It smells great, is easy to apply, and leaves hair soft and silky. DO NOTE, you have to use a conditioner after using this product. If you do not, the hair feels a little brittle afterwards.- The Moroccan Oil Treatment: Smells lovely, adds shine, and leaves hair silky soft. I wish this set included a bigger size of this.These items all come in a super cute velvet toiletry pouch. It is super chic and luxe and will be perfect for storing my toiletries when I travel.If you are looking to bring some life and softness to your dry damaged hair, I suggest trying out this set! This would also make an amazing gift for anyone who needs a little TLC for their hair!
