Does this fit over the key fob case, or do I have to remove the existing case first?

This is a nice piece....I broke a tab on my fob (volvo battery lasted 2 years) and instead of wrapping a rubber band it, I bought this item...when I sold the xc90 to the Volvo dealer, he was more impressed with this item than the other two keys I handed him. For a few bucks, you can't go wrong and , yes, it slips right over the original and does so perfectly.
