Not all brands are the same as Gold Bond even if the ingredients are
I ordered an alternative powder recently and quickly found Gold Bond Medicated to be far superior. It works wonders for itching and has helped heal eczema and we are really grateful and happy about that. I ordered the three pack and each bottle was actually 10 oz compared to a different brand I recently ordered which was 1/3 full. The bottle is about half full and lasts a long time. The powder does not burn or sting and has a nice lasting effect. It can be reapplied whenever and I use it generously. I just recently realized how important this powder is to have on hand for all year long. I have also used it in my hair before bed as a dry shampoo and it absorbs any night time oil making my hair clean feeling and fresh in the morning. I am happy with Gold Bond and now know from experience that all brands are not the same even though the ingredients are the same.

Gold Bond Powder is Best
I've been using this close to 30 years. This powder does not clump. Goes on smoothly. Feels silky. No strong scent. Soothing on itchy dry skin. Absorbs body moisture really well. I love using this on my skin during a psoriasis outbreak. If it's a minor outbreak, I can put only this on and it calms down the horrendous itching. If it's a bad outbreak then I'll use my Rx ointment and then apply this powder afterwards and it does make a difference, for me personally. If I'm having a hot night sleeping, this is great for cooling me down and allowing me to get back to sleep. I'm one of these people that mosquitos love. Whenever I get a bite, I'll wet the bite and then sprinkle on some Gold Bond Powder, which will basically makes a paste. Helps take the sting/itch out of the bite.

Keeps Me Very Dry
Really works! I bought this in hopes that it would prevent the armpit staining of my undershirts. I found out that the staining is actually caused by aluminum in the deodorant mixing with your sweat. I have since switched to a brand of Arm & Hammer deodorant that doesn't contain aluminum and I sprinkle some of this powder on over the deodorant. Not only has the staining stopped but I stay dry the entire day all the way into the evening when I shower before going to bed. It does have a slight mediciny smell but not strong enough to seep through my clothing for others to notice. I will continue to use this from now on.

Recommended by a nurse for skin care
It was recommended by a nurse to use on my husband's skin, especially the areas that had broken down. She said she doesn't usually recommend a brand name, but she makes and exception in this case. She said the medication will make open areas sting for a little bit but then it will numb them an make them feel better. It seemed to work for my husband. My only caveat-if you send someone not familiar with the product line, Gold Bond also makes non-medicated powder and it would be useless in this case. Fortunately, if you tell them abut the bright yellow container with he red top, that should help.

Old-school fix for old-school problems
It's a delicate balance. Do you want to smell like an old man fresh from the old-tymie gymnasium, reeking of whatever it was old men put on themselves, or do you want to smell like ripe crotch and old shoe? This is a very strongly Mayberry sort of smell, here. Anti-hip. Which I guess these days means pro-hip. I get so damn confused by the silly language kids use these days. Which means this stuff is probably perfect for me. Unless it's hip. Anyway, I use it regardless. But it works, it sops up whatever that stuff is that leaks out of the fold between your leg and your balls when you scratch it too much and it goes all red, it covers up all but the most existentially harrowing of footstinks, and you will smell like your grandfather, unless he was a monstrous bastard, in which case you will smell like somebody else's grandfather. Not Basket Jackson, though. Somebody with a nice grandfather. So it will work, it will reduce/eliminate the distress of running a fungus farm in your nethers, but you will smell of menthol instead of a composting bag of leftover chitlins, which is probably good unless you are into carrion birds.

Good stuff.
To be 100% honest, I bought this stuff because I really like the smell and the cooling feeling on my below the belt area. With that being said, I have noticed an decrease in overall dampness while sleeping as I have a tendency to sleep hot most of the time. As far as the scent goes, I really like it however I can totally understand if you don't. It's not for everyone and it definitely has that medicated smell to it. But as I said before, I'm a fan. I would recommend this cause a 3 pack for 17 bucks is a pretty darn good price from what I've seen at stores.

Helped my life in the bedroom
Gold bond is great for those of us who have a little issue with how our nether regions smell after a day of doing just about anything. To put it in simple terms, my wife would make me shower before she would give me any kisses downstairs. But since I started using gold bond on my giblets she says there’s no smell and is all about kisses downstairs. I wouldn’t leave home without wearing deodorant and I wouldn’t leave home without GB on my boys.

Works great
This soap is awesome! My husband has a skin condition that the doctor has been treating for several months with a variety of medications and cream and nothing has been working. We started using tea tree soap on the rash, followed by Gold Bond medicated powder. In just a couple of weeks the rash is almost gone. The rash was in his arm pits and he has stopped using deodorant. The Gold Bond worked on the rash, but it also controls oder.

Gold Bond powder is talc (not corn starch)
Gold Bond powder with menthol is a great itch relieving and soothing powder. Just use it as a general body powder. Some reviews make comment about the smell, I find that the smell of the powder is ok and disappears quickly not causing any problems. I originally purchased Gold Bond powder when visiting the US and have used it ever since.
