Dorman 902-1001 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Compatible with Select Ford / Lincoln / Mercury Models

Very impressed by the quality and the rimmed hose ends for better clamp and hose fit. Arrived when promised and needless to say it was on in a few minutes. The outside aluminum finish complimented my HP intake manifold. Can't beat the price and quality. When I saw Dorman, I knew it would be right the first time. Thank you

Ford 150 1989-1995 f150 302/351 thermostat housing .Dorman 902-1001 Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing -New with bung.This housing has the bung for a temp sensor if you decide to add a after market water temperature gauge. Quality is very good and comes machined on the neck and also the face of the housing where the thermostat goes. The paper gasket that came with the housing looked to be to be of a lower quality so i bought a new Feltpro gasket. I believe the gasket that came with the housing would have been fine.

I had an issue with the thermostat staying inside the stock housing as it was starting to get too old to use. Found this one and it's just like an exact fit. The thermostat fits tightly in this housing as opposed to the previous one that was too loose and would fall down, causing a leak. The gasket it comes with is thick enough to provide a seal and I used RTV with mine to help stick it to the housing. Filled truck with coolant and no leaks. Works perfect for me and stock hoses connect smoothly.

Its aluminum not steel like the original which I like however the casting is a little rough which requires some cleanup to get good seal on the hoses. That cleanup is why I didn't give it five stars but I have purchased several and will purchase again when needed.

This is exactly what I needed to install an electric fan switch in my classic small block Ford. The item was better than pictured. They have improved the quality. The threaded opening fits common sensor switches

Very nice well made part

I really thought I was getting a good deal. Hey, the hosing and the gasket were less than the price of the gasket alone. When I received it I noticed a blemish but the flatness of the metal where it mounts seemed to be flat. I have put this housing on a total of four times because it leaked. I kept on thinking I did something wrong and possibly I didn't put enough sealant on the gasket. However, even when I got the leaks to stop where it mounts to the engine there was a new leak, the set screw on the top that isn't even used for anything. I tried to remove it to seal the threads and it wouldn't budge. Then I tried to tighten it with the same result. I ended up putting jb weld around the set screw and that stopped it. But none the seal to the engine is leaking very slightly. EACH TIME I REMOVED AND REPLACED THE HOUSING I HAD TO ADD MORE COOLANT FOR WHAT WAS LOST IN THE PROCESS. I have had good and bad results before with Dorman Products but this was definitely the most costly and time consuming.

A beefy casting with zinc plating. Clean fitting threads with an included and installed pipe thread plug. Included a gasket. I ended up filing a bit of casting flash off.

It was just what I needed at an excellent price. Purchased this one because I needed an extra water temperature port for the fuel injection system that this one had.
