What is the shelf life of dry mounting tissue, i.e. how long can it be stored before is it used to mount materials ?

I have some from 8 years ago that still works perfectly. It has been stored in its cardboard envelope it came in and laid tilted to the side of a 17 gal hard plastic storage box in my room.
