12X50 Professional HD Binoculars for Adults High Powered with Phone Adapter

I spent the weekend using the 12x50 Gllysion binoculars I purchased last week as an alternative to a pair of Nikon 10x50 StayFocus Plus II I’ve owned for 20+ years, and I have a couple observations. The Gllysions came with a sturdy nylon slightly-padded carrying case and neck strap, lens covers for both pairs, two tethers and a neck strap for the binoculars themselves, cleaning cloth, and a cell phone adapter to position a cell camera and take a picture through one lens tube. The Gllysions weigh just under 1lb 10oz, about 8 ounces lighter than the Nikons. One thing I liked immediately was the overall profile, about 1/3 less than the Nikons. Accordingly, supporting the Gllysions is easier, and there’s really no serious tension involved to hold them steady. The eyecups ‘pop out’ by rotating them, so viewing with or without eyeglasses is accommodated easily. I do both, depending. And there’s an attachment point for a tripod adapter. As far as the image goes, I can only say I have no complaints. I’m not an optics expert and I’ve never dissected the performance of any optics I’ve had. As long as I can see what I need to I’m content. Today I could easily see the chipmunk running across the rock wall on the other side of our four acres. That’s got to be about a hundred yards or more away. I’ll also use these as a quick alternative to setting up a range scope for target practice at under a hundred yards. The image at every distance I looked at was crisp, and the colors accurate even under some low light conditions. Last was the cell phone camera adapter. I was skeptical this was going to work, and when I set it up and watched the image on the cell screen moving around (I was holding it free hand) I was sure the picture would be blurred out. But it wasn’t! It took just two tries to get a focused picture at about a hundred feet. The other picture was just barely blurred, but perfectly usable. I’m sure if I was bird watching or something at long distances, I’d put it on a tripod. So overall I like them. And at this price point I think they’re a good value.

Excellent binoculars. I took them on an Alaskan cruise. I noted all the naturalists were using this brand as well. They greatly facilitated my whale and dolphin watching.

So, I got these from Santa primarily for birdwatching. We have a wintering hummer, an adult male Rufous, here in Florida. I can watch him from my kitchen windows but wanted to get some good photos. The phone attachment is great..using voice command to operate the camera makes it a snap..particularly with this skittish hummingbird... because it is a little heavy for me a weak female..tehehe.. holding the binoculars and activating the shutter manually is difficult. .eill probably get a tripod at some point. The Mr. Researched different options and decided on these for value and quality..the lifetime warranty is a plus..hope they as a young company do well...the optics are very good. A friend who has a Vortex Viper an avid birdwatcher and good photographer was very impressed at the quality of the photo i was able to get using a phone attachment with these binoculars. Will update in a few months but am tickled pink with these HD binoculars.

Five Stars or as I like to say two thumbs up on these 12x50 binoculars. Don’t let the fact that they are made by some lesser known brand hold you back from purchasing them. They’re well worth the price. I like to know how binoculars are going to perform both for distance viewing and close range. So, I’ve provided two pictures to back up my review. I used the included cell phone adapter with my iPhone X to take these pics. The first is a herd of Elk from 1.47 miles away (according to Google Earth). As you can see from the pic, you can easily find and identify how many Elk are there. If you wanted to count tines or gross score a bull then you would want to use a spotting scope. The fact that these binoculars show this much clarity at this distance is a testament to their quality. The second picture provides a close-up perspective of a tree about 50 feet away. The details of the limbs makes me look forward to using these binoculars for bird watching…I can imagine a Mountain Blue Bird perched on one of limbs! One of my favorite ways to evaluate binoculars is to look at limbs and see how distinct they appear. High quality glass will provide sharp edges and clear details as these do. Also, notice how clear the limbs are but the background is blurred…this shows how effective the focus is at helping you define what your looking at. One final point that I want to mention is that these binoculars have a screw mount that enables you to affix them to a tripod or window mount. This is very helpful for extended viewing sessions.

These binoculars feel sturdy and high quality. The image is crystal clear. They work great. The accessories are a nice touch. The carrying case is good quality and the straps are comfortable. But my favorite part is the phone mount that works like a charm. The attached picture is during the Lunar Eclipse that occurred May 15th 2022 and was taken with my iPhone using the phone mount attachment. It kept the phone stable and in the right spot to convert the phones 2.5x optical zoom to 30x zoom. The pictures came out perfect. More impressive to me is that to the naked eye the moon had light cloud cover so this photo ended up better than what I was seeing with my eyes alone. On top of a great product, their support team is highly responsive and polite. They really do respond within 24 hours. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase and look forward to using it for a long time.

The quality of the binoculars are excellent. I haven’t been able to put the scope on the camera part of the Apple phone to get a close up picture yet. I’ve messed with it two different times. I really want it to work so I am determined and will try again. I bought it for whale watching in Alaska but it hindsight I don’t really see it working on a moving boat.

I received the binoculars and they seem to be well made. There are no problems with the pair I received and everything is included. Using the phone attachment to take wildlife photos is nice in theory but not practicable. My Android phone with it's case will not fit into the holder. After taking the case off and getting it attched to the binoculars properly (which takes about 5 minutes), it's hard to hold the binoculars steady enough to focus and snap a photo. By that time, the wildlife has moved! I saw no offers in any of the literature saying that you can get a free tripod -- as other reviewers have said they got. The biggest disappointment is that the company is located in China and the website provided to register for the "lifetime" warranty does not exist. In fact, I found no website for Gllysion at all. I tried calling the phone number provided (located in California) and no one answered. On the internet, I found a list of 29 world wide companies that manufacture binoculars and Gllysion is not listed. So, if you have a problem that happens after the 30 days when it can be returned to Amazon, you are out of luck. "Lifetime" only applys for 30 days. On the other hand, the reduced price seems to be a reasonable price for the quality of these binoculars and they work well for my purposes which is to just get better looks at wildlife around my property. So I plan on keeping them. I'm 80, so they will most likely last the rest of my "lifetime"

The sales pitch for these convinced me to buy them however I regret making that decision, I should have returned them right away but didn’t. Through one of the lenses I never could get a sharp enough image no matter what I tried. In the process of messing around with the focus I must have broke the focus mechanism because ultimately I could not adjust the focus at all. Beware of the plastic parts. Before tossing them away I decided to separate the binoculars so now I have a butchered but workable monocular and a throw away other lens piece. I think had I not had what I believe was a build quality control issue from the start I would have been happy with this product.

UPDATE: Seller provides great customer service, they got back to me about the product that u had received, apologized and resolved the issue. 100% GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! I will definitely buy from this seller again in the future! This product is to be avoided at all costs. Left eye on this item is black, cannot see through the left hole. The iPhone extension does not work, I tried everything, it does not work. Too expensive and too disappointed with this. Started a return on this.
