Does this fan require anything additional to work with Echo?

Nothing additional is required - a WIFI module is included with the fan. This WIFI module allows you to pair the fan with the Haiku Home app for your Smartphone and Amazon Alexa enabled devices. Call the manufacturer if having trouble - 855-694-2458.

How long are the downrod(s)?

Universal mount includes two extension options for an overall fan height of 11.4 inches or 16.4 inches. You can purchase additional extensions direct from the manufacturer by calling 855-694-2458.

Does this come with a wall controller

I did not purchase this specific voice control fan. In my purchase this was a separate purchase. i would not think a wall controller was necessary with a voice control fan. Big A has exceptional customer service. That number is 877-244-3267. My suggestion would be to call them. Hope this helps.

Can some please post the steps to get Echo to recognize the fan. When I try it never sees it ( though its on my network & the phone app works)

Three steps are more or less the same for all Echo pairing.Step one: Download the App for the smart item. In this case, the Haiku Home app. With this app, you need to program the fan to connect to your home's wifi. Step Two: Link the app to the Alexa app. Just go into "Skills" in the Alexa app and search for Haiku.Step Tree: Run discovery with your Echo or with the Alexa App.It sounds like you have done everything but step two.
