Takes your smartphone photography to a new level
With smartphone cameras improving all the time, and in some cases rivaling normal cameras, then you probably need something like the Progrip to literally get a "grip" on your phone. Otherwise, the shape of the phone and its slippiness make it a difficult little beast to control to get decent pictures and videos. The Progrip is a serious piece of kit in this regard, with the quality, ergonomics, and functions being top draw; turning your phone into a very smart piece of photography and video recording equipment. I purchased it to go with my Pixel 6 Pro, which it accommodates easily (length and width), with the phone sliding effortlessly between the spring-loaded jaws. I even managed to achieve it with a Spigen case fitted but it would not accommodate a Caseology case due to the slightly bigger width. If you have a smaller phone the Grip includes extra rubber bumper bars and stoppers, which can be inserted into the grip jaws to provide the required clamping load. My phone felt incredibly secure and free of movement and wobble, even when waving the attached phone & grip about. Set-up is straightforward and very clearly explained in the accompanying "Getting Started" User Guide booklet. The only disappointment is that on page 1 of the Guide it gives you the opportunity to scan a QR code to access an online User Manual “to learn how to shoot the best footage with your gear”. Scanning the code takes you to a ‘COMING SOON’ page, which is very disappointing considering how long the grip has been out and how much it costs. In terms of setup, I charged mine first using the provided USB-C cable and via the connector on the base. Having done so, I inserted the phone as directed in the guide ensuring that it was properly aligned in the centre of the wireless charging plate for optimal charging. There are clear instructions on the alignment process. To activate Bluetooth is very simple, just press the shutter button, wait for the blue light to appear on the grip, and select “ShiftCam ProGrip” on your phone’s list of available Bluetooth connections. That was it. Go to your camera app and the grip is instantly recognised, with a single click of the grip shutter button taking a picture and a long press and HOLD taking video footage. There is no lag between pressing the shutter button and the phone camera responding. NOTE…other than the shutter release, all other camera settings still have to be controlled and set on the phone. If you want to use the grip to wirelessly charge your phone it's just a case of pressing the Qi Charging Button on the back of the grip and inserting your phone. Both picture/video taking and charging can take place simultaneously. To summarise, if you want to make more of your smartphone camera you probably need a grip. The question is do you really need to spend £129 to achieve this? The short answer is no as there are other grips on the market for a fraction of the price, some of which also include a wireless Qi charging capability The advantages of the Progrip are; • Sturdy build, excellent ergonomics, and firm hold on the phone, especially beneficial for larger phones and hands. • Gives you a much better grip on your slippery and not particularly ergonomic smartphone. • Charges your phone whilst shooting allowing you to shoot for longer • The built-in tripod and accessory sockets allow you to expand your photography and video • The phone can easily be rotated in the adjustable grip to provide both landscape and portrait shooting. • It turns your smartphone into something resembling and functioning as a real DSLR camera. One final, final point. It comes with a leather handgrip, which makes it easier to hold but I found it rather difficult to get my hands into. It's fine for taking a few snaps but if you are using the camera for longer periods I recommend the Camkix neck strap, which securely attaches to the tripod mount on the Grip and allows you to keep your smartphone close to hand, secure, and hands-free when not snapping. All in all a great bit of kit.

Better photography experience = better photos!
I like photography and have a DSLR camera, but it's too bulky to carry around all the time - so mostly I end up taking pictures with my phone. The Shiftcam Progrip just made taking photos on my phone a whole lot better! It transforms the way I take pictures with my phone - Progrip feels like I'm holding a camera, it's a natural and comfortable grip and it makes it much more stable when I'm taking a photo. The Bluetooth shutter button (exactly where my trigger finger would expect it) makes it easier to take pictures than prodding at my phone screen - pairing it in my bluetooth settings was simple. Fortunately I can take advantage of the wireless charging built into the Progrip as well - I have a large screen Oppo mobile which the grip easily holds, but also means I can charge my phone when I'm out and about as well. The Progrip also allows me to take portrait as well as landscape pictures, as it rotates through 90 degrees whilst holding the phone. Oh, and then I discovered that I can put it down and use it as a stand for video calls or watching videos (see the pictures, difficult to explain!). If you like a bit of photography but find you have your phone with you rather than your camera, this is a great bit of kit for enhancing your phone photography!

Extremely Effective
There's been a number of similar products on the market but, ultimately, this is the one I chose. Makes mobile phone photography & videography much easier in either landscape or portrait mode. Better too as the bluetooth shutter ensures no vibration from tapping the phone screen to take a shot. There's also the added convenience of wireless charging but that's it really function wise. However, the grip can easily be attached to a standard tripod or monopod.and enables the addition of a shoe for lighting systems. Shiftcam also sell a wide range of accessories. This includes lenses although with the capability of modern mobiles these are becoming less needed Build quality is excellent and caters for a wide range of mobile phone sizes. The photos I've added are examples of shots I've taken with my Pixel phone using the grip. Best demonstrated by the moon shot which was taken handheld on full zoom. I used the Shiftcam ProGrip on a photo shoot last night and it did exactly what I wanted. The only reason I've knocked off a star is that the lovely included carrying case would be improved by providing more space. The current layout means it will only hold the grip. There's not even space for the charging cable. Also, I'd like to see the grip capable of adjusting some basic camera phone settings as some others do. In view of my slightly negative comments, I'd say that the product is a bit on the high price too. Having said all that, as a professional photographer, I would recommend the ProGrip to any level of photographer.

Easy timhandle
I’m a bit of an amateur at photography, like taking snaps when out and about, even when taking action shots watching my favourite rugby league matches with iPhone, this little gadget is the bees knees for what you need to shoot a perfect shot on your phone. It’s more or less like having a Nikon or a cannon SLR in your hands, as it’s similar to using one with this adaption to your mobile phone, it also fits nicely in your hand and is comfortable to handle, only slight down side is the strap, I tend to like straps that go right over ya hand or even around your wrist for added protection and safety of the item, and not over the middle of your hand like this one does, but hey don’t let that put you off, this item is a great item to add onto your module and makes taking photos easier then normal.

Maybe not for iPhone 16 users
I'm going to return this and reorder when the iPhone 16 issue has been resolved. It's a good item and would be perfect if only the bluetooth didn't disconnect every time. The workaround is simple (forget the bluetooth device, restart settings, reconnect) but it's an annoying fault and I don't see how they can fix anything within the device if/when they find the issue. Have to give ShiftCam credit for highlighting this in their description, though.

Truly Exceptional Accessory !
Wow ! – This is s truly exceptional accessory for a smart phone ! From first opening the very high quality marketing and packaging material to the design details and functionality – this product scores 10 /10. Cannot express the sheer quality feel of the product and its joy to use. This is because it addresses all the problems of trying to use a modern smart phone as a camera, lack of grip , misplaced fingers on the screen, risk of dropping and damage, battery life, etc. Have been looking for such a solution – and this is it ! Highly recommended and would give it 11 stars if I could – Well Done to ‘ShiftCam’ - and Thank You !!

massively overpriced and poor build quality
So let’s start with the good. It was easy to set up and fit my iPhone 14 pro max in its case securely and the wireless charging still works through the MagSafe case I already had. It’s easy to pair and comfortable in the hand and has a cold shoe attachment for a light or mic. It also has a tripod screw socket at the bottom The shutter works via Bluetooth and the built in powerbank will keep you taking photos for longer So why only 1 star? Well the tripod mount is on the handle which is on one side so if you’re outside the wind can cause significant vibration ruining your shot. The shutter button doesn’t detach which means you either need another shutter controller or you’re touching your camera on the tripod which is a bit self defeating. Many other cheaper brands have a detachable button so there’s really no excuse. It’s not compatible with a lot of the shiftcam ecosystem. There is no mechanism of attaching the snapgrip attachments such as the snap night. Given the price difference between the pro model and the normal shiftgrip I find the really surprising. It also means that you can’t mount both a light and a mic for video work. Again many other offerings at significantly less cost offer multiple mounts and simply making it compatible with the rest of their range would remove this limitation Finally, and the killer for me, is that the strap broke the first time I used it crashing my phone to the floor. What looked like metal turned out to be plastic and it's really not the quality you'd expect for this price

Imparts more of a 'proper' DSLR vibe to your iPhone. Works very well.
This grip has actually turned out to be better than I expected. I use my iPhone as a backup camera when I'm on paid jobs, and this adds stability, power, and to be honest, a bit of credibility. The cold shoe adaptor is appreciated as well, it's held mics and lights for me. I use this with an iPhone Pro Max and although it's at the larger end of phones that fit, it's always stayed in place and worked perfectly. Would buy again.

Great quality and easy to use!
Love this! This grip turns your mobile phone into an easily handled camera...great for taking steady photos without worrying about dropping your phone! Easy setup, easy to connect and disconnect phone (see below), and easy to use! It does mean that your phone won't fit back into your pocket unless you disconnect it!

Ersttest: Teuer aber gut.
Ersttest: Schnelle Lieferung, Verpackung, gute Verarbeitung, Tasche - alles Ok.

Much better than the Fjorden or LUX Grip
Based on my initial experience, this is an impressive product. Having come from a background of using dedicated D/SLRs for years, I find using phone camera apps with touchscreens alone just doesn't work for the way I like to shoot. So a proper grip is essential to me to avoid lugging around another piece of gear during travel. For context, I bought and tried the original Fjorden grip years ago, but stopped using it after several attempts, for two big reasons. First, the physical dimensions are just too small for my large hands, making it fiddly and slow to use. But the biggest drawback I found wtih the Fjorden was that use in the field was cumbersome—unlock the phone, select camera app, reconnect grip—because leaving the phone on and the screen active killed the phone battery in no time. The ProGrip addresses both these problems with the embedded battery charger, large grip, and hand strap. Granted, it lacks a dial and additional function buttons like the Fjorden or the overpriced LUX Grip, but I personally don't see that as a major issue for a phone-based setup (plus my experience with the Fjorden's laggy physical dial and zoom controls put me off using those controls with the screen readily available). Best of all, I confirmed that the ProGrip works with the Leica LUX camera app, as well as the default iPhone camera and Fjorden apps. It also comes with a very nice custom-molded case and a 2-year warranty, which I think is impressive in this day and age. One of the video reviewers griped about the plastic-y build, but frankly I find it pretty solid and don't see it as notably different from many dedicated cameras on the market at many multiples of the ProGrip's price point. Overall, I'm impressed with the ProGrip's features and the company's dedication to delivering a quality product. I look forward to taking it out for an extended spin.
