Cocoa Mini Protein Crispies

Thankfully these are way better than anticipated. Some of the reviews nearly scared me away from trying them. But since I like a lot of the Highkey products, I still wanted to give these a try.The texture is good. It has a good bite down, chewy mouth feel. Not at all gooey, but there is a pleasant "rice crispy treat" vibe to it. More like the commercially prepared kinds, not at all anything like home made.Taste is neutral. I find it lightly sweet, lightly salty, and lightly "protein powder" tasting. Not incredible, but totally palatable. If they could boost a more marshmallow taste, or a stronger vanilla taste, I think these would be excellent.Each cube is 2-3 bites. Not big, but is good for a quick snack. 50 calories, 2 g fat, 20 mg sodium, 12 g carbs (though 1 net carb after 4g fiber, 7 g erythritol & allulose), 5 grams protein. Not too shabby!10 servings per container (I dont rate on price, but yeesh, $15 is a bit steep)OVERALL: 4 stars. I like them, and they'll do for a quick snack when I want a riced crispy treat mouth feel.These taste extra good dressed up. Try a frosting, or some other spread on them (nut butter, hazelnut spread, etc). I use  Edible Cookie Dough  as a frosting on these (this stuff is soft when at room temp, or more like a stiff cookie dough when in cooler temps). mmmmm so good on this.

I agree with a lot of the featured reviews on here. You have to have a very high tolerance for the salty aftertaste flavor so KetoChow fans would probably like these a lot more than others.Pros:- It does have a rice crispy treat flavor but with a slightly salty aftertaste. This doesn't bother me too much as it does other people as I prefer salty over sweet since doing keto.- I've been on keto almost a year now, this is probably more tolerable since it's been over a year since I had a real rice crispy treat. It DOES subdue the craving quite a bit for me, which is why I even try these instead of a tried and true mugcake or fatbomb.- The rice crispies do taste a whole lot like real rice crispies.- Individually wrapped so your timer doesn't start ticking the second you open the bag.Cons:- This does not have a rich buttery vanilla / marshmallow flavor like grandma's treats. However most keto sweets just don't replicate marshmallow well anyway.- Not as gooey, more like 3-4 day old treats.If the price was considerably lowered I would probably purchase these again when the cravings return, but they will not be making it to the scheduled delivery and I hope Highkey goes back to the drawing board and does a revamp since I adore a lot of their other products.

These tasted like burned sugar. Not my favorite thing. I couldn’t eat them because I couldn’t get over the taste. Boyfriend didn’t mind to much.

**** I loved these so much but I just had 3 packages delivered today and I can't ever bite into it. It is so hard, I am very sad because I really did love them. Also can't be returned and can not find a contact info via Amazon****I had bariatric surgery in 2020 and I am unable to tolerate real sugar (not a bad thing for me). But when I saw this in the things you may like I jumped on it..it gives me the feel of a real rice crispy treat there is a slight tang after taste and I wish it was a tad bigger maybe the size of 1 and a half of current bars.They are currently sold out and really hope they come back ASAP. I usually don't do chocolate goods but had to try them since I am out. Will update upon arrival.

The first time I tried these was at Christmas 2021. My daughter gave me a bag of them. She opened the bag and emptied it out in my stocking as a stocking stuffer. Fantastic idea for a stocking stuffer. I fell in love with them! I love rice crispy squares and since I am diabetic, was estatic (not just glad...but estatic) to see there was a keto version of a favorite treat. I tried them. LOVED them! They were different than the kids treat. A little salty and sweet at the same time. Definitely could get used to them and I did. Amazon was out of stock on them when I went to order more. I waited about 3 months for them to be available again. I looked forward to their arrival with great anticipation and much delight.What a disappointment when I got them. They looked different. They were darker, almost like they were too done, overcooked, or whatever the process was. I opened the first one and, much to my disappointment and sadness, they were as hard as a rock! I could barely eat them. The bite I took stuck to my teeth and I couldn't get it off!Would I buy these again? Absolutely! If HighKey could get their product quality consistent.

They smell way better than they taste. They are ok. Nothing great.
