comfortable, great sound quality, amazing for price when discounted
i used my last pair for five years, i think it was. the first thing that went was the charging - they didn't charge in the case. so i had to charge the earbuds by charging the case. then the case didn't charge as well anymore. then the battery of the earbuds declined so i only had maybe an hour of noise cancellation, which is my primary reason for using these. then they stopped pairing so well, and then ultimately one earbud stopped working altogether. so i bought another pair! these are worth buying when they're on sale the two times a year they go on sale. camelcamelcamel.com can tell you exactly by copying and pasting their URL. these have the best sound quality ever. the bass is AMAZING and makes all the difference for me. the other aspects of the quality are also incredible and the noise cancellation is the best i've tried so far. would definitely recommend - and have! my dad bought them as well, and he's very very picky about comfort. he always complains about how they fit in his ears. but he likes these and he is willing to work out with them as well.

A Must-Have for Workouts and Audiobooks!
I’ve been using the JBL230NC TWS True Wireless In-Ear Headphones for my gym sessions and audiobook listening, and I’m thrilled with them! The sleek, modern, and stylish white design gives them a premium look. They stand out without being too flashy, and I love how they look and feel in my ears. The earbuds are lightweight and fit comfortably, staying secure even during intense workouts. The connectivity is seamless, thanks to Bluetooth 5.0, which ensures a stable and quick connection to my phone or other devices. I’ve never had issues with dropouts, and the proper wireless design allows me to move without tangled wires. Whether lifting weights, running, or just sitting back with an audiobook, the sound is always clear, and the connection is reliable. In terms of functionality, these earbuds have it all. The active noise cancelling works wonders during my gym sessions, blocking out all the distractions so I can stay focused. When I’m outside or need to be more aware of my surroundings, the smart ambient feature lets in just the right amount of external sound, so I feel safe while still enjoying my music or audiobook. The sound quality is fantastic with JBL Pure Bass Sound—the bass is deep and impactful, making my workout playlists feel energizing. The clarity of the mids and highs makes audiobooks super enjoyable without any strain on my ears. The four mics for perfect voice calls make phone calls crystal clear, which is great when I need to take a quick call during a workout. Plus, the IPX4 rating means these headphones hold up to sweat and rain, so they’re perfect for intense workouts or outdoor runs. The 40-hour battery life is another standout feature; I can go for days without needing to recharge, and that’s been a huge convenience for me. Overall, the JBL230NC TWS headphones perfectly blend style, performance, and durability. They offer amazing sound, seamless connectivity, and all the functionality I need for workouts and listening to audiobooks. I highly recommend them for anyone looking for high-quality wireless earbuds!

A satisfactory pair of earbuds with a decent attempt at noise cancellation
In this review, I will compare the jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds with some of the best wireless earbuds of 2023, based on four criteria: noise cancellation, sound quality, battery life, and design. Noise cancellation: The jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds have active noise cancellation, which works well in most situations, but may not be effective in very loud environments. The Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds are the best in this category, with outstanding noise-canceling performance that adapts to your surroundings and personal preferences. The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 are also excellent, with adjustable noise cancellation levels and a transparency mode. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 is another good option, with effective noise cancellation and spatial audio support. Sound quality: The jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds deliver a decent sound quality, with a balanced and clear output. However, they may not satisfy audiophiles who prefer a more detailed and dynamic sound. The Technics EAH-AZ80 wireless earbuds are the best in this category in my opinion, with a superb sound quality that rivals some of the best over-ear headphones. They have a rich and balanced sound signature, with deep bass, clear mids, and crisp highs. They also support high-resolution audio codecs and have a dedicated app for EQ customization. The Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds are also great, with a dynamic and engaging sound that can be tweaked via the Sony Headphones Connect app. The Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2 are also impressive, with a top-notch sound quality that is well-balanced and natural. Keep in mind that the jbl 230 nc sits in a very different price point than the earbuds above so it's still punching way above its weight in this regard. Battery life: The jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds have a battery life of about four hours, which is average for wireless earbuds. They come with a charging case that can provide an additional 12 hours of playback. The Sony WF-1000XM5 wireless earbuds are the best in this category, with a battery life of up to eight hours with noise cancellation on, and up to 24 hours with the charging case. They also have a quick charge feature that can give you an hour of listening time with just 10 minutes of charging. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 are also good, with a battery life of up to six hours with noise cancellation on, and up to 30 hours with the charging case. They also support wireless charging and have a fast charge feature that can give you an hour of listening time with just five minutes of charging. Design: The jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds have a simple and sleek design, with a matte black finish and a jbl logo on each earbud. They are lightweight and comfortable to wear, with three sizes of silicone ear tips to choose from. They are also water-resistant, which means they can withstand sweat and rain. The Apple AirPods Pro 2 is the best in this category, with a sleek and ergonomic design that fits snugly in your ears. They have an open design without tips, which means they don't block out the outside sound completely. They also have force sensors on each stem that let you control music playback, calls, noise cancellation, and voice assistants. The Beats Fit Pro wireless earbuds are also stylish and comfortable, with a winged design that keeps them secure in your ears. They have an IPX4 rating for water resistance and have touch controls on each earbud. Conclusion: The jbl 230 nc wireless earbuds are a decent pair of headphones for casual listeners who want to escape the noise of the world. However, they are not the best in any category, and they face stiff competition from other models that offer better performance and features. If you want the best noise cancellation, sound quality, battery life, or design, you may want to consider other options such as the Sony WF-1000XM5, the Technics EAH-AZ80, the Bose QuietComfort Earbuds 2, or the Apple AirPods Pro 2. At this price point however, which is often lower (I bought mine on sale for 50% off), the jbl 230 nc is a no-brainer and will give you a value you can't say no to.

Amazing sound quality
This review is representative of my first impressions after receiving the item. Fit - 4/5: While I've had better fitting earbuds in the past, I would say that these aren't problematic at all, but not perfect either. The buds fit fairly snugly in my ears, and its quite nice that they've included a few tips. They don't seem to move around if I shake my head, so I have decent confidence that if I take them to the gym or on a run, I wouldn't have problems. That said, they don't quite fit perfectly, but everyones ear is a bit different so others might find it better or worse. Sound - 5/5: All I can say is wow do I love the sound that these produce. The level of bass is far beyond anything that I've had from my other earbuds (Jabra Elite 65t and Jlabs JBuds Air). The app includes equalizer settings that actually make quite a lot of difference (unlike other headphone apps I have used) and I am blown away by how much bass can come from these headphones. I have also noticed with other wireless buds that they tend to be on the quiet side, not reaching the same volume that my larger Sony headphones can, but that is not at all the case here. These get LOUD. As someone who plans to mainly use these for workouts, this is exactly what I hoped for. Battery - 5/5: So far I have not had a chance to use these until they die, so I have to disclaim that. However, if the battery matches up or comes close to their claims, which I expect they will given it is a reputable brand, then I will be impressed. My other buds max out at around 8 hours, so getting almost 4x the total battery life is excellent. 8 hours without recharging is very impressive. Look and feel - 3/5: The case looks nice and I think the aesthetics are fine. But the buds themselves are polished smooth, which makes them a bit tricky to handle with your fingertips. Once they're in, its no problem. But a matte finish or some texture would have been better for usability. I'll update this review if I find any reason to, but I am extremely impressed by the headphones, especially for the price point. Highly recommend!

I received a defective/used iten!!!
First and foremost, I would like to express my frustration and disbelief at receiving a product with a $99.95 price tag when I paid $109.99 for it. They could have at least removed the price tag so the actual retail price wouldn’t be visible! That alone would have been enough reason for me to return the product. However, I decided to test it, and when I opened the package, I noticed that the seal was loose and appeared to have been removed previously. On top of that, there was a white label placed directly over the area where the product’s serial number is located. This immediately made me very suspicious because I own several JBL products and have never received one with an external label covering the serial number on the box. I also searched for several photos of the exact same product purchased on Amazon, and none of the photos showed this “suspicious” label on the packaging. I charged the product to 100%, and I noticed that as soon as I removed the earbuds from the charging case, the right earbud showed only 10–20% battery, while the left earbud showed 80–90%. The right earbud completely died after only 3–10 minutes of use. I charged it again, performed a factory reset, installed the latest update, and nothing changed. There is clearly something seriously wrong with this product. It is very likely that I was sold a used or display-model product at a higher price than the one being sold in the store. They didn’t even have the decency to remove the original price tag from the box. This is completely unacceptable. Amazon should not allow something like this to happen on its platform. I expect a full resolution to this issue.

They work great .
Works great for about two years . This is my second set . You need to clean your ears everyday with a q-tip or you’ll cunk up the ear buds and they will fail prematurely. After about a year and a half the earbuds start losing the ability to connect to the case easily and they start unevenly charging so one earbud will go dead immediately or within a couple or three hours , you can remedy this by placing the case on its bottom on a table so gravity helps connect the earbuds to the charging points in the case but eventually they just wear out . I use my earbuds daily for 6-8 or more hours per day at work 5-6 and sometimes 7 days per week . I work in a loud dusty dirty environment. The noise cancellation is fantastic and even works to block out the roar of my 48 inch loud John Deere lawn mower . I love the earbuds but .., I wish they lasted longer . I’ll be buying another pair soon .

Great headphones, where quality meets affordability.
Honestly, I’ve been really impressed with these JBL headphones — especially long term. I’ve had them for about a year now, and this video was taken one year after purchase. Despite constant use, they still look and sound almost like new. The charging case has held up great. It’s compact, lightweight, and the matte finish hasn’t gotten slick, cracked, or beat up. The lid still snaps shut firmly and nothing rattles around inside. The earbuds themselves have stayed solid too — no loose parts, no fading, and the silicone tips still fit comfortably and stay in place. I also appreciate the app, which works seamlessly and allows you to customize controls as well as EQ, etc. Connection is still fast and stable, volume gets plenty loud, and the sound hasn’t degraded over time. Bass is punchy without being muddy and vocals stay clear. For something that’s been used this heavily, the durability honestly surprised me. Overall, these have proven to be a great value and way more durable than I expected at this price point. If you’re looking for affordable true wireless earbuds that actually last, I’d absolutely recommend them. (I'm a photographer, the first photo is just a personal take I took using the headphones a few weeks back. This isn't some fancy ad, that's the same set showing up at your door.)

Good but faulty.
I love these ear buds, sound great, long life, needs more volume range on the low end. I found nothing wrong with them, until the right ear bud just started malfunctioning today. Used em last night for work, no issue, then as I was using them this morning, sound dropped from the right ear bud. I thought they were dead, but I took my left one out, and could hear audio coming from the right ear bud, but it was almost inaudible, it was so quiet. That’s actually how I knew it was broken, because the default volume on these ear buds are actually quite high. The lowest volume is the equivalent to 4-5 clicks on Apple AirPods, which lasted me way longer, and had slightly better noise cancellation, and also had much more range of volume. Same thing happened with those, right ear bud blew out into pure static. Warranty for apple air pods expired 2 weeks before they crapped out. Warranty for the JBL’s expired a month before they crapped out. I’m not saying it’s a conspiracy, but I’m really tired of the trend of electronics conveniently breaking right after the warranty window expires. I had wired skull candy’s in highschool that I picked up from a gas station that I genuinely still have in my closet right now that work perfectly fine. These things should not be breaking from just being used as intended. My 10$ gas station ear buds should not be outlasting 50-100-200 dollar ear buds. This is pathetic. ——— Just saw it’s made in China so, classic. You might be thinking “well duh” but I was just hoping our only options for everyday electronics wasn’t cheap Chinese trash. Going to try to find American or German made earbuds. Anything that isn’t from China will work tbh.

Recomendo!!

I was pleasantly surprised by the sound and silence quality!
I have been looking for some wireless headphones for a while now. Tried a few options under $100 but all of them were bad. Low audio quality, low voice quality or couldn't be heard in anything other than a quiet room, poor battery, poor connectivity, you name it. I was already set on increasing my budget to $150-$200 until I saw these JBL on sale for $70 (I think the original price was around $150) and knowing that JBL produce great sounding speakers figured I had nothing to lose by ordering them. They really hit the mark! for the money I paid I get very nice actual noise cancellation (I commute on subway to work and listen to podcasts) and great audio for music, podcasts, and conversations. Who ever I asked about the sound quality of my speech always replied I was crystal clear, no matter the surroundings (I'll admit that when standing next to a loud bus the quality diminishes, but that's just an outlier and no one, not even the $300 set, will be able to tune out that noise). They fit very snuggly in my ear and don't fall out even as I am pushed out the subway or working out. Pros: + great value for money + awesome audio + very good noise cancellation for the price cons: - haven't had any for now Overall, I highly recommend getting these if they're on sale! I don't know if I'd pay full price for them as they have competition once you go to the $150-$200 price range. Will come back in a few months and update if something's not right.
