Simply works
I'm glad there's some cheap canister filters on the market. Thing is quiet and effective, I got it running on a 20G long at about 1/4 flow rate. Very nice the flow rate is adjustable. I didn't even take note of the included UV operation, I probably will not enable it unless necessary. Designed well, easy to clean. However the trays have a silly shape so cutting custom foam was tedious, but doable. I didn't expect it to come with media, the media it comes with should be discarded and replaced with actual sponges... While it comes with intake/outake lily systems, and the unscrewable part to fill the line makes priming a breeze. It is just cheap plastic, doesn't look too bad but consider getting your own lily tubes if you care about aesthetics. I also had to cut down the intake tube significantly to fit in my tank, which is fine. Better for everyone that it can be super long for larger tanks. Drilled some holes in the pipe and installed an intake filter, which I highly recommend to save fry/shrimp and also minimize maintenance. Overall great deal. First one I got wasn't working but turns out it was my fault, got greedy and tried to use the upper section as an additional media compartment and it blocked up the outflow mechanism... so be careful about that. Second one working great.

quiet canister filter
great little canister filter really seems to move more water per hour than advertised but have not been able to measure that really. had a light go out in one of them but it came with an extra light and it was easy to install.

Short lived suction. only 2 weeks
Canister filter worked great on timer for two weeks. So it was not on 24/ 7. Then it stopped taking water into tube intake tube that pulled water from tank into canister. It no longer has power to suck up water into the unit for cleaning tank water. Tried disassemblying to remove any debri that might hinder moving parts... it worked for for maybe an hour and then found it stopped once again. this time off the timer system. So... I'm out the $$ and back to long hours of manual tank cleaning after many wasted hours trying to get this to work.

I ran fish dept in pet store.. this is a good buy.
So far it's working very well. No leaking, seems to be sufficient for 55 gal tank. water is staying clear .. 3 weeks so far so can't comment long term yet.. Seems a good value. Is very quiet too. and water fall effect is calming. Was easy to install. I've owned more expensive units, same parts and build quality to me, but this one is doing the job just fine so far. I recommend.

It's Chinese, not German
I had to wait for my preferred brand to ship so I picked this up with next day shipping to help clear up aquariums that were being moved. I was curious how good it might be. Seller descriptions from China are a joke, and this was no exception. The part that really stood out was "quiet brushless motor ", and the exact same motor design as powerhead and most canister filters, hang on filters have been using for over 30 years. Things I liked: filter stages are easy to load and unload. The filter is mostly made of pretty durable ABS plastic. The hose shutoff valves and release seem to work well. The built in handle pockets make the unit easy to carry for cleaning. Things I didn't like: filter stage baskets feel flimsy, I'll need to be careful. Three of four hose clamp collets were on backward (probably would have still worked fine, just points to QA). Vinyl hose is thin, so crimped from shipping (hot water helps to relax them). The silicone O rings are poorly moulded but seem to be sealing. On/off switch has already failed (broke in the on position, unplugging works fine). Media was a bit random and not placed in the correct order for operation. Overall it seems decent, but I think still priced high for the quality. I did use a quality silicone lube specifically for seals on all the o rings and other seals and it always helps. If you invest time, money, and yourself into an aquarium I'd say get a known good brand. Need something that does the basics on the cheap this seems adequate.

Works well. Make sure to keep the tank above the pump. SEE UPDATES
This seems to be doing quite a good job in my tank due to the fact that it pushes so much water through. I have purchased in tank pumps and they just didn't perform like they needed to. He always needed to have them cleaned/removed slash a pain in the butt. This thing has worked for a month and I'll be cleaning it sometime soon but as far as I'm concerned it is definitely better than the in-tank pumps... Less cleaning and better circulation of the water. I recommend this or I think there's like one or two higher than this. I don't recommend the lowest choice that they have this one is like number two on the list. Anyway, it's during the job and I think you'll be happy with it. Keep the tank above the pump the gravity of the water will help it not to stop pumping That's a must. The light should be stronger but it does what it does. I would enjoyed it more if it had a higher wattage for the UV light. Haven't had to clean the pump for the last 30 days which is so much better than in tank pumps I was having to clean those almost on a weekly basis if not twice a week. The amount of water this thing pushes through is good and does its job. Recommended. Update: The pump stopped working and is going back to Amazon. I'm opting for the next size up which I shouldn't have to because the tank is only about 15 to 20 gallons. However, I'm hoping the quality of the next size up will fix the issue with a stronger flow. I've lost quite a few fish due to the pump stopping and the heater overheating the tank due to lack of flow. This will be the third attempt. The first one was sent back because it never worked / the replacement worked for about 3 weeks and we shall see what the third one will do. It's got 30 days to impress or it will go back as well and with that I will switch to another brand. Hopefully, the extra power in the size up will allow it to function correctly and keep flowing instead of sitting there like a brick not doing anything. Will update...

Definitely worth the money
Have had filter running several weeks. This filter performed better than I expected. Easy to get started. Has a handle to prime filter and hoses with no effort. I would recommend it. I have it on a 20 gallon hexagon column and it works amazing. Probably an overkill since I'm doing plants. Im not using the UV but it also came with an extra lightbulb. The only thing is the filter media. The bio-rings are plastic and the pads are not so good. But for me not a deal breaker because I most of the time change things in my filter anyway. Bought new pads that were in a bundle and foam. And I had bioballs of ceramic. Added a lot of bio-material for bacteria to grow. I really like the filter, plus it's not big at all it's actually small good for when you don't have a lot of space.

Just OK. Cheap pads
itโs a OK filter I used it on my 60 gallon breeder tank and it did not meet the expectation. It would be perfect for a 40 gallon aquarium whatever size filter you buy make sure you Aquarium is a lot smaller. And the pads they give are cheap and useless

Works Well
Have been using on a 40 gallon Hex tank for over a year with no issues. Easy to maintain, my only regret is not buying the bigger one. UV bulb hasn't needed to be replaced yet.

Brilliant
No it is not a UK plug but I brought a power deductor for this, so it can be used in the UK. Know it's all up and running, wow what a Filter my tank has never been so clean and clear, even the fish are happier

Buy a different brand one that works
Do not buy one of these. Silent operating, yes because they do not work. This has spluttered a couple of times but is pumping and filtering no water. Having had canister filters before decided to go back to one again. So now I am going to have to make a trip out to an aquarium store today to buy a replacement so my fish do not die. Once again do not buy this I have a lot of money for something that does not work.
