Works well. Make sure to keep the tank above the pump. SEE UPDATES
This seems to be doing quite a good job in my tank due to the fact that it pushes so much water through. I have purchased in tank pumps and they just didn't perform like they needed to. He always needed to have them cleaned/removed slash a pain in the butt. This thing has worked for a month and I'll be cleaning it sometime soon but as far as I'm concerned it is definitely better than the in-tank pumps... Less cleaning and better circulation of the water. I recommend this or I think there's like one or two higher than this. I don't recommend the lowest choice that they have this one is like number two on the list. Anyway, it's during the job and I think you'll be happy with it. Keep the tank above the pump the gravity of the water will help it not to stop pumping That's a must. The light should be stronger but it does what it does. I would enjoyed it more if it had a higher wattage for the UV light. Haven't had to clean the pump for the last 30 days which is so much better than in tank pumps I was having to clean those almost on a weekly basis if not twice a week. The amount of water this thing pushes through is good and does its job. Recommended. Update: The pump stopped working and is going back to Amazon. I'm opting for the next size up which I shouldn't have to because the tank is only about 15 to 20 gallons. However, I'm hoping the quality of the next size up will fix the issue with a stronger flow. I've lost quite a few fish due to the pump stopping and the heater overheating the tank due to lack of flow. This will be the third attempt. The first one was sent back because it never worked / the replacement worked for about 3 weeks and we shall see what the third one will do. It's got 30 days to impress or it will go back as well and with that I will switch to another brand. Hopefully, the extra power in the size up will allow it to function correctly and keep flowing instead of sitting there like a brick not doing anything. Will update...

Definitely worth the money
Have had filter running several weeks. This filter performed better than I expected. Easy to get started. Has a handle to prime filter and hoses with no effort. I would recommend it. I have it on a 20 gallon hexagon column and it works amazing. Probably an overkill since I'm doing plants. Im not using the UV but it also came with an extra lightbulb. The only thing is the filter media. The bio-rings are plastic and the pads are not so good. But for me not a deal breaker because I most of the time change things in my filter anyway. Bought new pads that were in a bundle and foam. And I had bioballs of ceramic. Added a lot of bio-material for bacteria to grow. I really like the filter, plus it's not big at all it's actually small good for when you don't have a lot of space.

Absolute Garbage
I amended this review after 2 weeks. The pump began putting out far less volume of water. I took it apart and cleaned everything and it still was moving little water. I pulled the intake cover and checked the lines, there was no obstruction. I even tried with the filters out, no go. I'm getting a replacement and will update. I'm worried if this happens again I'll be outside of the return window. Update on my update. I received the replacement and the motor was noisy. Also none of the fittings were correct. The downtubes were clear plastic and too small for the inlet cage. Also they sent me two inlet elbows with no way to fit the spray arm. After cobbleing the hoses together to make this thing work, the new pump leaked. I tried resetting the top portion and no matter what it leaked about 2 inches in a 5 gallon bucket in an hour. It was coming from where the handles are in the top. I absolutely would not recommend this unit. This has been a two day struggle and I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS PUMP!!

Just set up but doing well so far
So far so good i just set it up, it was a little complicated to get started but it has good flow of water and is working beautifully. The waterfall part makes a strange squeak sometimes but that may just be mine. If you are having water flow issues give it a chance I couldn't get mine running for a couple hours and I did consider returning. I gave it one last shot readjusting my seals and tubes and it worked! Excuse the dirty tank old filter went out and havent had a chance to clean.

Bang for your buck
Donโt mind the video of the tank being dirty looking just did a water change and agitated the sand. Yes there air in the line so it squeaks fixed now First time with a canister filter after useing HOB or internal ones and look I am new to aquarium stuff so take with a grain of salt. My tank is a 29gallon with rosy reds Minos (turtle food/ survivors) 10 albino Cory Doraโs catfish 3.5inch painted turtle Yes he will eat the fish but got lucky with the Coryโs dose not bother them to much/eaten none so far Some live plants adding more I got the 225gph(gallons per hour) you 2 stage one(two layers for bio media So far for a few days it is good with no reference to compare with. Hoses are think hard to work with kinda but not frustrating or anything set up is simple direction are ok but itโs not rocket science worse you gunna do is leak water a lot but. I will say the flow rate is great but has sowed signs of it diminishing not sure if it clogged or what took it apart and itโs good so maybe itโs faulty not sure but besides that it works to what you need I would not recommend going with Max tank size for this which is a 55 gallon just because flow rate might die overtime and become weaker. Not sure if that affects much or not but for a 30 gallon is what I have and itโs fine no cons really besides flow rate it hit or miss it seems like.

Quiet and efficient filter
Had my canister filter going out friday night, luckily been in the hobby for so long thought me to always have a back up filter at hand so I always run two filters in my aquarium simultaneously, it has always worked great for me since I can clean one filter while the other one keeps running so no downtime there plus I can always move one canister filter to another aquarium making it cycle faster, but I digress! Again one of my filters stopped working, no idea what happened but it stopped pumping water, I attempted to clean it but is an old filter and parts are not easily available so I went ahead and order this one in a hurry, surprisingly the flow is really good and quiet, no leaks, it have uv light and a spare bulb, hoses are descent and plenty long, water spouts are plastic but unless you spend the money you won't get stainless steel, its a really good option for the price in my opinion.

Good filter with plenty of features at a good price
Purchased this in February 2025 so Iโve been running it for almost a year. The filter has been working amazingly. I have the 225GPH version and run it on a 8 gallon nano tank. Perhaps some people will say it is overkill but I have not had to do a water change (only top ups) for a year and have only cleaned the filter sponge once. Not sure how effective the UV bulb is but algae has been minimal. Water is crystal clear 24/7. The stocking in my tank is very light and it is well planted. 1 Male guppy, around 30 neocaridina blue shrimp, and maybe 10-20 rams horn snails. I would definitely buy this filter again for another tank this size or even slightly larger. Very easy to clean if needed, you can close off your intake and outflow tubing with one lever. I love the adjustment for water flow as well. Noise is very low as well, my air pump is much louder. Fits nicely inside an aquarium stand cabinet.

DONโT WASTE YOUR MONEY!
I ordered this in May but didnโt end up set up the new tank until this week. I wish I would have set it up sooner so I could have returned this canister filter. I am out of the return window now. It is absolute junk. The water flow through it is very low might be suitable for an 5 gallon tank. It also just randomly stops pumping water so itโs very unreliable. I would give it zero stars if that was an option.

Brilliant
No it is not a UK plug but I brought a power deductor for this, so it can be used in the UK. Know it's all up and running, wow what a Filter my tank has never been so clean and clear, even the fish are happier

Buy a different brand one that works
Do not buy one of these. Silent operating, yes because they do not work. This has spluttered a couple of times but is pumping and filtering no water. Having had canister filters before decided to go back to one again. So now I am going to have to make a trip out to an aquarium store today to buy a replacement so my fish do not die. Once again do not buy this I have a lot of money for something that does not work.

Cannot be used in the UK
Zero stars. Went looking at this I read the reviews and everything was great so when it arrived I took it out of the box and assembled it and got it all working and then got to the point where needed plugging in assuming that a plug change would be what it needs and it turns out that if you live in the UK you should not buy this appliance because it's 110 volts and if it was plugged into a socket in the UK it would sit on fire so now I have a setup filter that I now have to drain and put back in the box and send back. I am fuming. Turns out all of the reviews are from the US and there was no warning of that.

Great value.
Have this canister running for 2 weeks now. Everything is included, filter media, bio balls, and even a spare UV lamp bulb. Easy to prime, unlike both my Fluval canisters. It's quiet like most canisters and the flow is adequate for small to medium sized tanks 30-50 gallons. So far so good, it is an incredible value for the price. Hope it lasts like my inexpensive SunSun canister going on 4+ years.

Very Quiet and low maintenance
Initially, I didn't feel entirely confident upon observing the seal design, and that sentiment persists. It's not due to any immediate problem, but rather a concern that with time, the latches may weaken, potentially leading to a leak. However, there's a chance this may not occur. Currently, everything seems to be functioning as intended, and the UV light indicator is still active.
