How do you sharpen this?

In terms of sharpening, whetstones are the BEST way, although they require a little skill, but scary sharp edges are easily attainable. We would advise 1000 grit and 6000 grit, although you can also go even finer. Soak the 6000 grit side in water for less time than the 1000 grit. Is it dish washer safe?

Thank you for your question. Here are some tips for care and maintenance for your knife:
Best to wash by hand with a small amount of detergent.
Dry immediately with an absorbent towel.
Don’t use soaps with citrus or bleach extracts as they can promote corrosion.
Never leave any amount of staying water as corrosion can eventually occur, weakening the blade.
Do not recommend placing in the dishwasher- heavy jet streams, flying debris and harsh chemicals can push blade against other items, causing damage.
Best stored dry in the included sheath when not in use. 
Never attempt to force a cut by twisting blade or prying.
Avoid cutting frozen foods, shelled animals and products with hard components (coconut, bone).
The softer cutting surface is recommended, such as wood, plastic, and bamboo.
Glass, granite, marble, and ceramic may dull blade quickly.
You can also condition the handles with olive oil or tung oil to keep them smooth and looking new.
