WEN JT630H 10-Amp 6-Inch Spiral Benchtop Jointer

At the time of my purchase, the description vaguely states "cast iron, metal".There may be some cast iron inside somewhere, but it is not the top tables of the jointer, which is appears to be cast and machined aluminum.That aside, the jointer was easy to set up, 99.9% spot on for cutting head to outfeed table, and nearly spot on table to fence. Only needed to do very minor adjustment to the fence to square it to the cutting head and outfeed table.Ran some pine through it to check things out, then jumped into squaring and surfacing some mahogany. Oak followed, as did a little maple. All nicely processed.I'm really surprised by the cut quality of the 12 staggered cutters.Keep in mind this is not a heavy duty floor stand jointer, it is a light-duty bench-top variant.Works perfect for the 3-4 foot long boards I typically need to surface. Fits nicely on a shelf or under the bench when not in use.Hook up a good dust/chip collector, as it will spray wood chips all over the place otherwise.I did notice another review where they stated the push-pads were defective. Their "defective" pad appears to have made contact with the cutter. My pads are well made, no faulty adhesive, work really well.Also, some reviews comment about the aluminum table being damaged, or scarred after just a few passes of material.While the table will mark up, it doesn't impact the flatness nor ability of the jointer to do its job. Yes, a true cast iron table set would be an improvement, but the price would likely increase proportionality. The tables on my jointer show "use", but nothing that can be felt with a fingernail, the marks seem to be more burnishing of the deck lathing than actual damage to the surface.Glad I made the investment.

This is a very good DIY planer but the Amazon Australia sales site does not warn you that voltage is 110 and and your require a $90 2000W Step down Transformer. There is a short note in small writing advising buyers to check voltage but is easy to see. A banner next to product description that is easy identifiable should be visible for all non 24V products.
