This Lenink Carplay Jumper works perfectly at making your Harley think you have a headset attached to the bike so you can use Apple CarPlay.History:Harley agreed with Apple to make it so that their radios would only work with Apple CarPlay if Harley made the radio require a headset is attached to be able to use their CarPlay. Many people have come up with ways to fool the Harley radio into thinking a headset is attached and this plug does exactly that and does it very well.What it does:This Lenink CarPlay jumper connects two pins that are wired directly to the radio but also the rear headset jack. This is all the radio needs to enable Apple CarPlay so you can use it. This jumper and others like it have no impact on the driver being able to wear headsets and use CarPlay at same time. WARNING: You can't use this if you ride 2 up and wear wired headsets, the passenger will NOT be able to talk to you. This is not a design flaw, this is doing exactly what it is intended to do and that is to make the bike think a headset is attached. If you have this or any other jumper plugged in and want to ride 2 up and use headsets and talk to each other you will have to remove the jumper first.Jumper with 2 headsets trick:I took this and improved it though as I sometimes do need to use headsets for me and my rider. I first cut the wire so that it is 2 wires. Then I installed a micro on/off switch in the lower part of the fairing on the left side where it is all black (factory). Connect the wires to the micro switch. When you want use CarPlay without headsets, turn the switch ON and the connection is made and enables CarPlay to work. When you are riding 2 up and want to wear headsets, turn the switch off and plug in your headsets and CarPlay will work and you can both talk to each other.Overall thoughts:I do wish the wire was a little longer but I was still able to splice into the wire and add a hidden micro switch so that I could use headsets and still have CarPlay. This plug fits perfectly in the factory plug and will not work it way loose. Make sure you plug this into the grey connector under the fairing. Installation is very easy and quick.

At such a low cost, I was skeptical about this. I admit I was pleasantly surprised. For $10 on here, this is something HD would charge $1k for. Fairing removal is simple and the point of connection is in a reasonable location. There's nothing to the connection aside from snapping it in, bolt the fairing back on, and you're set! You'll notice it can take around 30 seconds for carplay to appear after your bike is powered on. Remember that your device will need to be connected to the USB port in the media compartment unless you also purchase a wireless adapter (which I did). I'm anxious to hit the road for an extended period to test reliability, but so far, so good!

I was skeptical when I ordered this, but for the price I took a chance. The jumper arrived quickly, no real directions but videos are available on YouTube. Install went perfect, and low and behold, I had apple carplay on my 2023 Road Glide 3! no voice activation or phone calls, nothing that requires a microphone, but google maps, waze, sirus, audible, music they all work!

Worked like a charm. Did indeed take longer to take the fairing cover off than to find the plug and install the jumper. Plugged my phone in and immediately had Apple CarPlay. Have to keep phone plugged into the usb port, but I knew that going into it.Just what I wanted.

Item didn’t come with instructions! Found the instructions on Amazon, plugged it in and it did nothing. My whole screen was empty and black. This product doesn’t work!!! I can’t even return it because I wasn’t able to install it within the 30 days!

This device was relatively easy to install (after watching a YT video) and at the time I had an iphone 7, it worked great. A month ago I upgraded to an iphone 17 amd it just won’t work at all. Then I did a test with my sons unit which is an iphone 13 and it worked very well…! My phone and his phone have the same iOS version. So, it seems that it will work fine for ‘older’ iphone models, from 7 to 13 at least.
