No more sharpening pencils

I actually love this pencil, and find myself carrying it everyday. The main issue it had is that the advance mechanism only works at the very tip of the pencil. So if you push the sharpened tip flush to protect it, then you find it will not advance. The rest solution is don't push it all of the way in flush. If you leave the tip out even a1/16 inch, then it abscess fine. This issue also happens if you break a lead inside the pencil. It won't advance. You have to take a thin long piece like a toothpick or bamboo skewer to push the lead down. Finally, the threads on the pencil sharpener are fine and strip easily. Don't tighten. The sharpener is extremely good though. I like this better than a much more expensive one of similar design from Rockler.

I constantly keep breaking pencil points on my woodworking projects. This lead is much heavier (thicker) than a normal pencil so it hasn’t broken since I started using it. However, the down side is the line is a bit wider. If you are trying to be super accurate (down to 1/32”) this might be an issue.The yellow pencil is of a crayon consistency and is rather soft, it works quite well on metal or other dark surfaces that I’ve used it on.I’m sure it will be a long time before I use up all the lead included with this set.

I really like the pencil. It really never needs sharpening if you use it correctly. I go back to my drafting training in the early 70's using a mechanical pencil and needing to roll the pencil as I draw to maintain a consistent line quality. I have dropped this pencil many times on a hard surface and only broken off about 1/4" of lead once. it seems very durable and never leaves me without a useable pencil. The price is actually way too cheap for the utility it provides. My only concern is that the sharpener cap falls out way to easily. It needs some additional engineering to allow the cap/sharpener to stay securely seated in the top of the pencil. I actually have never used the sharpener but the cap is needed to be able too advance the lead. That said, I am going to buy several more so I can have one readily available in any situation. Great pencil with one minor issue.

This pencil is amazing..and at my age I've used alot of pencils.. maybe enough to build a house out of ! However I do think the threaded part and the friction fit could be a little more robust. But even with that it's still best pencil ever.. very quickly bought several more !

I recently had the undesired but necessary task of putting up shutters on some old, dirty siding. Getting up on a ladder, holding the shutter in place and precisely marking the hole locations is an acrobatic feat in itself. Imagine yourself 20 feet off the ground holding a 55-inch shutter in place and reaching up to mark your hole locations only to realize your marker is not thin enough or long enough to make the mark. Why! Sure I could have tried a mechanical pencil but the lead is too thin and would break before making a visible mark. A marker would be ideal but would need a much longer tip to get through the shutter hole. This product came in to save the day. The lead is thick enough to hold up and make a mark even when extended while still being thin enough to fit through tight spaces. Even with my shutter task completed, this pencils are my go-to for everything. I also recently discovered the tiny pencil sharpener located in the cap. Didn't even know that was there! These are really great I bought 4 of them so I always have one with me for every job.

Better than expected

These pencils are simply put awesome. Love the different colors, which is needed for darker woods. Then the sharpener is in the cap and very quick.
