Nutramax Cosequin Joint Supplement for Dogs, Skin & Coat, Soft Chews,120ct

I have a 14-year-old Weimaraner who unfortunately is having neurological problems, but I have no doubt these Cosequin chews improved his quality of life for at least half a dozen years. I initially started giving him this joint supplement when he was around 8 and I became concerned about his mobility. He was slipping and sliding around a lot and even falling down every once in a while. My vet recommended this product and so I immediately went and found this maximum strength bag even though it was a little pricier and had less chews than the bottle of Cosequin DS. And thank God for these chews too, as I know without question they have prolonged my old guy's years on this earth. He's now on an anti-inflammatory but my vet told me to continue giving him his Cosequin and he's a stubborn old man and trying to hang on. He's never given me any trouble taking these and actually loves them, although for "Soft Chews" they are NOT very soft. However, he did run out of these ones once so I had to buy the Cosqequin DS (they were not as good) and compared to those which are a totally different color and texture, I can see why these are considered soft. I have actually gotten a few of these bags that were close to the expiration date, and in that case the chews felt harder and looked more dried out than that of a fresh bag but they still worked fine. I do remember when we first started giving these to him that it was maybe a couple of weeks later when my family and I noticed a marked improvement. It honestly shocked us all and I was so grateful to have found these. They are literally a life-saver and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them (and have) to anybody who has a senior dog who is having difficulty getting around.

Our dogs do so well with this supplement and we can tell a difference when we don't give it to them. We use for both of our dogs. The move better and their skin stays clear. The chews are easy for our dogs to eat and chew. They would eat more than suggested dose if they could, they love them.

Update: 3 months in and we haven't had anymore injures and no signs of discomfort after walks. They have been down to 1 chew a week for the past month. They still don't like them, but will take them. Original Review: I have 2 Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. A 2yr old and a 3yr. old. They both have loose knee caps, and were always getting hurt out walking the trails, or even while having the zoomies at home. They're small dogs, but think they can handle anything. On their last exam the vet mentioned starting them on these. Due to one of them having leg injuries, twice, 2 months apart, at the joint. At first my dogs thought they were getting a snack and gobbled them up (bc they are greedy little snack goblins). But they thought about it for a day and decided they were not going to eat them anymore. I have to offer these to them before any food or treats in order for them to take it. They are not a fan of anything liver flavored. Luckily. One Month later: I'm passed the first month of treatment, (1/2 a chew everyday) and they have improved in joint health. They don't limp anymore or walk like they are stiff.

Hello all, I can only assume this product is beneficial to my dogs since they haven't been off of it for a period of time. It's an expensive product that my vet recommends. I have two 9-11 year old Labrador rescues. Brother and sister. Millie's back vertebrae are starting to narrow and show signs of arthritis. So I think it's helping her. One more thing, these come bagged and are semi-soft chews. Amazon puts the bag into a larger shipping type bag. These small thin packages get crushed. And my Cosequin product bag was crushed. Expect a possible return. I'll inspect the product tonight when I open it. Put some better protection around this product, please. Thank you

I love these soft shoes over the chewable tablets! I mean, I've not tasted them myself, LOL, but my dogs prefer them for sure. I have one that's pretty picky and she won't eat the chewable tablets but she does love these and actually looks forward to them. They do have a very fishy smell when you open the package due to the ingredients, but that is natural and does not mean they're rancid. Just check the expiration date on the package if you are curious about that.

Chews are great for older dogs that have a hard time chewing very hard food. Works like it should, good for joint issues. Easy to digest. My dogs haven't had any side effects.

I was so worried I would end up having to force my almost 8 year old German Shepherd to take these like I do her heartworm prevention (she's also an expert at eating pill pockets but somehow spitting pills out) but she LOVES them. I haven't noticed a difference in her, however, my vet wanted me to start her on glucosamine as a preventative because of her age.

After having double knee surgeries, I can appreciate joint health and this product for my pet. We have a 200 pound plus Boerboel puppy. This breed is typical for both elbow and hip dysplasia.. I noticed he started limping jumping in and out of the back of the pick up or if he got in the house and jumped on the couch and got down so I started to give him this. It’s been three weeks now, he’s still in the’ load’ period but I have noticed a difference already. I started out with two and I’m up to four now after reading any side effects I started slow. He will go on maintenance around the middle of October to about two cubes per day.. yes of course it stinks. Omega-3 is fish oil. It stinks. I dip it in peanut butter for him and give it to him one at a time then give him a normal treat. It is pricey, but it is effective.. he does chew it a little bit, but ends up swallowing it anyway.. I wish it was cheaper, but I don’t care about the taste because the peanut butter really helps.

She wouldn't eat the harder tablets from this same company, but she will eat the soft chews. I break it into about 4 pieces and hand-feed them like treats. I had to take her off her dog food that was very high in glucosamine and chondroitin as it was very high in protein and she now has kidney protein issues. So I started her on these chews, which are lower in dosage so not yet quite as effective, thought somewhat helpful - she isn't yet jumping onto her favourite chair again.

It is for my labrador retriever, and he is doing great on it!
