Scents With Benefits: How to Craft Fragrances Like a Perfumer (All Natural Perfumery) Paperback – October 13, 2021

Hi,I received this book as a gift. Perfumery, isn’t something that I had any interest in learning about. However, this book is inviting with its bright, pretty cover, and it’s only 58 pages long. So, I sat down to read it, and I super, enjoyed it! I learned so much and I am inspired to maybe delve into creating a fragrance for myself. Definitely, some new diffuser scents, I can make, using the author’s formulations. The author, Abigail Houston, kept me interested throughout the book with her humor & witty comments throughout the book. She comes across as funny, smart, and approachable. Which is so nice because my assumption would have been a book about natural perfumery would be stuffy & mundane at best. Luckily, I was very happily surprised. Not only that, I am inspired to dapple in a new art to me.

Abigail not only tells you how to create natural scents that are more healthy, but also weaves the history of natural perfume. A very good read.

A friend of mine mentioned she made her own home/personal fragrances and I thought I would give it try. I found this guide and it was perfect. It gives a really quick background and then jumps into the basics of mixing and specific formulations you can try. The Instructions are really clear, and I found a few formulations that I really like and others have complemented me on. Cool thing to do if you want to be more natural or if you just want to create a personalized scent.

I LOVE these books! they are a quick read and have lots of great information! Since we have many rescue animals and I volunteer at 2 local animal shelters its important to think of the sensitivity of their noses as well as my own! Thank goodness for the wool balls to substitute dryer sheets as well! Great Books! I will have everyone of them when they are available!

I ordered this book with minimal knowledge of perfume or its history. The book was chock full of valuable information and facts but delivered in a light, humorous manner. The writer is so full of knowledge and seems to have really mastered her craft. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the art of perfumery. The cover art is also very inviting and beautiful.

although perfumery is not a subject I am very interested in, I read this book on the advice of a friend. I must say the book was well written with just enough humor to keep me reading page after page.I don’t think it will spur me to try perfumery but it does make me interested in possibly purchasing perfumes made from essential oils.

Great book!

Not only does Abigail tell you how to make perfume but includes lots of history of it. Writing in a lighthearted creative manner so reading is fun!

The book started on point but ended too soon. I felt as if I have downloaded a sample instead of the full book. To confirm this I checked it again to see it’s only a 14 pg book. I wish there was more to read. Paying 499/- for this information is expensive. Rest the book does generate a curiosity but most of the things you can find over the internet too, for free.
