WACACO Minipresso NS Portable Espresso Machine For Original NS Capsules

I LOVE this little powerhouse of an expresso maker. It is literally a ‘Where have you been my whole life?” traveling essential for expresso lovers. This version is a newer model. I do not know how the Wacaco team did it but they made a great product even better! The Minipresso NS looks sleek and compact until you see the NS 2. The newer version is half the size of the original model. Now I am not gonna lie, it is a bit tougher to squeeze out your expresso gold. Instead of just thumbs I need to get the palm of my hands involved. I just consider it my morning upper body strength training. It is doable, but notably more rigorous than the original minipresso. I have always been impressed with the exceptional packaging of Wacaco products and the NS 2 is no exception. It speaks to the attention to detail of the entire Brand. Speaking of attention to detail the individual or team who decided to add the little stand that the unit can be set in once you use the cup for expresso gets a standing ovation from me! This is the FRENCH KISS of the whole process! I have a couple other travel beverage makers that include cups. Once you use it and put the beverage in the cup there is no were to put the wet and possibly messy maker. You have to clean it up before you can set it down anywhere. With this little stand you can save the clean up for after you have enjoyed your expresso. This shows that the creators at Wacaco have thought through the entire process from start to finish and created a self contained, multi level product that fully meets your needs and solves problems you didn’t even know you were going to have. Insider tip, when storing the drip cup inside the unit make sure that you place it upside down. It fits very snugly and if it is upside down you have the lip on the bottom to grab on to when removing it. (Ask me how I know one way works significantly better than the other! You don’t wanna be fighting with it pre coffee, thats all I’m sayin’.) Of course the coffee made with this machine is good, other reviews cover this in more detail, the clean up is simple, all of the accompanying pieces can be conveniently stored inside the unit, and it comes with a draw string bag to use when tossed in your bag. This little travel buddy is well worth every penny. I highly recommend!

A+ 5 star... I'm not sure what the complaints are about... this is a great little espresso maker. It makes a pretty good cup of espresso, yes, it cools off pretty quick would do the same in most cups as the cup is plastic. The cup could be thin metal insulated cup but then again, if you take more than a few minutes to drink it then go get a cup of coffee. You just need to know what you're getting. I got this for hiking its small lightweight and no power needed and durable. You'll need hot water... when I hike, I have my jetboil and in 25 pumps you've got espresso. The pumping action is easy and by using the Nespresso pods the measuring, tamping and cleanup mess is easy peasy. I wish Wacaco would make their coffee maker easy to use like this device. This is a device for travel, hiking and if you're a cheap skate for home, the price is good as the unit is so small lightweight and great functionality and so easy to use some folks will get fooled into thinking it's not worth it. WELL IT IS !

I admit to loving coffee gadgets. I drink one double Nepresso latte in the morning--and I like my coffee the way I like my coffee. I'm not a snob just a creature of habit. So, when I went to visit my mom for a few weeks, I needed a way to keep the coffee flowing. Enter this little bundle of joy. Small enough to take on the plane with me, it worked better than I expected. Are there issues with the pod getting stuck, yup, but you'll figure it out (it isn't that hard). Did I burn my hands pouring the hot water into the container--sure--but that was me not paying attention. Did my hand cramp into a permanent claw trying to pump the machine--absolutely. But ultimately, I got to have my coffee almost my way. I figure I can throw this thing, a small milk frother, and a box of Peets pods into my bag any time I have to travel and I'm set to go. All you need is some boiling water (and hot milk if that is your thing) and you're good. They include a little cup for the hikers and campers, but I skipped that in favor of a regular mug. You'll get some sputtering and, no, the coffee won't be as good as out of the machine, but it will certainly get you through a few days or more. I was quite pleased with the quality of the shots. Make sure to try it out before you go--there is a learning curve but not a steep one. It is easy to carry, easy to clean, and easy enough to use. This is a useful addition to the gadget collection.

As an espresso lover, I used to struggle on work trips to Eastern Europe and Africa because I couldn't find a decent shot to save my life (they drink real coffee there.) So, I went on a quest for the perfect portable espresso machine, small, practical, without lots of parts, and one that takes espresso pods.... and luckily I stumbled upon this one! At first, I was on the hunt for an electric espresso maker, but the price tag was unjustifiable. Plus, the size of some of those contraptions was going to take some real estate in my luggage. So, I settled for this cute little manual machine, even though the thought of pumping it 20 times for one tiny shot didn't exactly make me want to do a happy dance. But, let me tell you, this little one packs a punch! The entire process from boiling the water to pumping out a perfectly extracted shot takes less than 3 minutes. Sure, I have to do a bit of arm work to get my caffeine fix, but its not as horrid as I imagined (memories of manual orange juicers when I had to squeeze 3 oranges to get half a cup). And, there's something oddly satisfying about making my own espresso without having to rely on electric machines. I also own a Nespresso Creatista machine, which has more features than I know what to do with. So, it's refreshing to use a simpler device that performs just as well. Plus, I can use my espresso pods with this portable device. Most other portable machines, including the original of this one, do not have espresso pods feature or would require you to buy an attachment. I really dont use coffee grounds and dont want to make a mess of this when I am traveling or worry too much about cleaning, so the espresso pod was perfect for me! I also ordered an electric kettle that works worldwide for tea but it will also pair greatly with this Minipresso on the go without worrying about finding hot water. Finally, this was easy to figure out without reading the manual. That was great. And, major props to the creators for providing a manual in multiple languages. Even though I didn't need it, it's always nice to have the option. I am sure I am going to be using this now everywhere I go as it fits nicely in my purse. The only negative issue I found is the cup attached to it. I dont know if it's BPA free, but even if it is, BPA free cups become affected when they are heated. I wish it was a stainless steel cover instead. Overall, I highly recommend this Minpresso. It does not compromise on taste or quality. Easy to use and really practical. I am a happy customer.

I was very skeptical. It beats every expectation I had: it's tiny, it's very easy to use and it really works. It produces a great shot of espresso. As good as the capsule is at least. But I would definitely recommend it and definitely buy it again if I needed.

I wanted to love this little coffee press. In fact, I do love this little coffee press. But, it leaks and you might get burned. The product has a 1 year warranty. I made a total of 30 Nespresso shots on three different out-of-town trips, and on the last trip I scalded two fingers on my left hand. I have had this unit about 5 1/2 months. I reached out to the manufacturer asking to replace the unit and that's when the back-and-forth began. Send the serial # and manufacturing date stamp and purchase receipt. I did. Are the threads in the water tank worn out? Send us a picture. They weren't. Is it the orange seal/gasket? It looked fine to me. After more trouble-shooting, I believe what causes this unit to leak is the heat of the water itself. Per the instructions: "6. Add boiling water into the water tank." This is what will yield a decently hot shot of Nespresso, but sadly I believe boiling/near-boiling water is also what makes this little baby leak. The water tank is a hard plastic. So just guessing here (I'm no engineer) but boiling hot, or just post-boiling hot, water makes the tank expand just enough that it compromises the integrity of the seal with the main body. You then flip it upside down to start pumping out your shot of Nespresso and near-boiling hot water seeps out onto your hands. The last round of Nespresso shots I made the water wasn't as hot and the unit didn't leak onto my hands. All other variables were the same (same Nespresso pods, same altitude, using filtered water). I was going to rate this at least a 2, but with the risk of having your hands burned I had to go with a 1 because this just isn't safe. And let's not even talk about the run-around with the manufacturer when you're asking them to honor the warranty. Frankly, I just gave up. I will at least be able to get tepid shots of Nespresso out of this unit without getting burned. And, I'm looking into buying a pair of heat resistant silicone cooking gloves to see if that might be doable to make getting a hot shot out of this unit feasible (whoever thought I'd pack a silicone baking glove on a trip? LOL) If you are going to buy the Minipresso, these are my suggestions / best guesses to keep from getting scalded: - Do not use boiling or near boiling hot water. If you are going to use water that is hot enough to burn you, protect your hands with something. - Do not fill the water tank above the fill line. This will cause water to immediately seep out when you attempt to screw the tank onto the main body. (I got some more minor scalds this way prior to the near-boiling water experience). - Make sure both the water tank and the part that holds the Nespresso pod are secured very tightly to the main unit before you begin pressing your Nespresso. (Also a lesson learned). Pros: - It's compact. - It doesn't require batteries. - Although your shot of Nespresso may be tepid, it tastes just as you'd expect. Aside from the leaking, the Minipresso does a good job. Cons: - It leaks. I'm just guessing the temperature of the water is the main factor that can't be fixed without fixing the design. Perhaps the seal and water tank threads are also an issue in the design. - You may have to press very hard and communicate a long while with many questions and pictures before the manufacturer will honor the 1 year warranty. Unknown. I gave up. Good luck!

I first bought the newer model, NS2, after four shots it extracted only water; I returned it. A friend, who has had hers for three years, recommended buying the previous model: NS, but after one perfect cup, the same thing happened. Bottom line, after trying various pods, it actually worked perfectly, just not with Ristretto (intensity 10), but anything lower, no problem, even with Arpeggio, which is a nine. The Ristretto pod is obviously packed with a denser amount of coffee, not compatible with the machine, but it took trial and error, a number of different intensity pods, to figure out why the Minipresso was unable to pierce the pod. It probably should be noted on the description that the machine is incompatible with Ristretto. But now knowing this, it’s actually the best portable espresso machine ever.

The good: it makes decent coffee, it's easy to use, and it's easily portable. The bad: it gets jammed if you're trying to make back-to-back coffees. I like this product and use it for traveling frequently. However, the biggest issue I have with this item is that the pod holder has a tendency to get stuck. After making the frist coffee, the part that holds the pods can become completely stuck. Usually this is only while the espresso maker is still hot (or warm). Once it cools off and the pressure is reduced you can usually open it (sometimes easily, other times with a lot of effort). But this really a big issue if you need to make more than a single coffee, which I do while traveling when I make coffee for my wife and myself. I often bring this to work where I will only make one coffee a day, and it works fine for that as I don't any issues with it getting stuck. These issues seem to happen more with some pods than others, but it is quite annoying. Otherwise it is a nifty little coffee maker.

Lichtgewicht, doet perfect wat ie moet doen en ziet er nog mooi uit ook. Jammer dat de case er niet standaard bij zit, die heb ik er nu apart bij gekocht.

Kanon när man är ute på äventyr i naturen! Funkar klockrent! Blir inte super varmt men jag tar alltid med en liten espresso kopp i porslin som jag förvärmer med hett vatten för bästa resultat! 👍♥️
