how do you thread the wrist strap on?

By the ears are 2 small holes you push the small strings through then with a pin hook them through and wrap larger strings through its a bit fiddly though

Can I take this on a plane in hand luggage?

Yes you can take it as hand luggage on a plane. I took mine last month without any problems.

Where do you attach the lanyard?

I used a darning needle as shown to thread through. Would have been hard without it

How do you open it once the fan is jammed? It’s completely stuck and now won’t function

Um I unsure but it is bit stiff when you first get it . To be honest with its unique design didn't think it cud jam unless someone purposely tried to close it on fan blades
