I bought the NEEWER 18" RL-18 Ring Light Kit after struggling with smaller lights that left my TikTok tutorials dim and uneven. I’ve been using it for the past six months, three to four times per week, mostly for overhead cooking shots and makeup recordings in my home studio. The difference was immediate. The 240 LEDs deliver a soft, even 55W daylight glow (5600K) that erases shadows and makes skin tones look natural. The large 18-inch size covers a wide area, so I no longer need extra desk lamps. The pros are strong. First, the light quality is excellent for both video and photography, giving my content a professional look. Second, the included color filters surprised me-especially the warm filter, which adds a flattering tone compared to plain white. Third, the Bluetooth remote became part of my routine, letting me start and stop recordings without touching my iPhone. There are drawbacks. The included 61-inch stand is lightweight and feels unstable if extended too high, so I keep it lower when filming around kids. The plastic housing and filters feel fragile compared to pro gear. Also, the stand legs are packed upside down, which was confusing to set up the first time. Compared to my old 12" UBeesize ring light, the Neewer is far more powerful and covers more space, though the UBeesize was easier to store. Against a professional Godox light, this kit feels less durable, but you’re getting about 90% of the lighting quality for a fraction of the price. An unexpected bonus was the catchlight effect-that perfect circle reflected in my eyes instantly made videos look more polished. If you’re a beginner creator or small business owner looking for affordable, professional lighting for TikTok, YouTube, or product shots, this kit is a great choice. If you shoot daily in a full studio, investing in a heavy-duty setup like Godox or Manfrotto will make more sense. My one suggestion for improvement is for Neewer to upgrade the stand’s locks to metal for more stability.

This light is AMAZING... I bought the 18’ ring. It has the dimmer in a very convenient location, not in the back like some that I have seen, but under the ring so it’s easy to adjust while filming, if need be. I posted a video starting with a pitch black room so you can see how easy it is to use the dimmer knob and also see how bright it will get with no interfering light. It is super duper bright at 100% and a nice soft glow at it’s lowest %. It was easy to set up and it is very sturdy!! I am very impressed with this ring light!! My hairdresser had it in her salon and loved it, she told me it was great quality. She did not lie. I was looking for a ring light to film YouTube videos, so decided to give it a try. People saying it fell over or that their phone fell and shattered did not tighten all the knobs and screws, or maybe they were using the phone mount that comes with it. I made sure it was sturdy before attaching my phone. I happened to own a couple of high quality phone tripod mounts that I easily attached to this so I can’t say if the one that comes with this set is any good... I see that it uses tension to secure the phone, no screw tightening option. I do not trust that. The one I have clamps the phone and has screws that tighten the phone into the bracket securely. (Jansite or Riqiorod are the two brands I bought on Amazon that work perfectly) I would buy a high quality one to make sure your phone is secure. I was a little worried after reading some of the reviews that it would easily topple over, and I have a child, you can hear him in my review video, so that was a concern, that it might fall over on him. Not worried at all because it is sturdy.... if he crashes into it, it will fall but any tripod would. The goose neck tube is very strong and stiff. It also comes with a nice padded carrying case to keep the ring light safe. You cannot fit the tripod into the carrying case but I don’t mind, I would rather store it separately to prevent damaging the ring light. If the light suddenly stops working, I will update my review if the manufacturer does not replace it... but I gotta say that right now it works perfectly and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’m an avid Amazon customer and rely on reviews. This is my honest and unbiased opinion. If this review helped you, give it a like :-)

UPDATE— I had previously written a review based on the fact that part of the mounting was defective- A brand rep reached out to me - sent me a new one immediately and walked me thru the set up ( turns out that unfortunately I did have a defective unit the first time around that I was completely unaware of) after getting the new one and getting it set Up which literally took less then 5 minutes from start to finish - the ring lite is now perfect! Do NOT expect the seller to help- if you have any issues at all contact the brand- seller is worthless! Light is perfect now - no issues at all! I want to add that the silver knob piece that is attached to the stand (has a screw sticking out of the top of it) all you is place the ring lite on top of it and tighten the screw knob that is attached to the ring light it looks like a wacky configuration because it doesn’t make sense logically why it would attach like that but it actually does work and that is exactly what you’re supposed to do once you unfold the arm that attaches to the ring light and you unscrew the knob so that you can see directly looking into it without the screw you simply placed that over that silver knob and then tighten the screw knob handle on the light itself. Hope this little tidbit is helpful because really it is kind of a wacky configuration and it doesn’t seem like it would go together it seems like there would be a piece missing but nope that’s how it’s supposed to be the brand representative was so extremely helpful in getting me a new one and just reaching out to me literally after several several months I had used a defective one so like I said if you have any issues don’t waste your time contacting the seller just tried to reach out to the brand it’s self ! I got this NEEWER 18” ring light for content creation and my workspace, and it definitely upgraded my setup. The lighting is super bright and even, which makes a big difference for videos, pictures, and even video calls. It gives that clean, professional look without needing a whole studio setup. This review is going to be a bit lengthy lol. First of all be prepared to receive absolutely NO instructions with this ring light whatsoever. You literally have to sit there and just play with it to figure out how to expand the tripod, how to snap the filters onto the ring light itself, how to mount the ring light onto the tripod once you've gotten the filters on, how to make sure everything is tightened down once fully assembled and finally, how to use the hot shoe camera and camera phone mounts that come with this set. (I haven't even begun to figure out how to use the Bluetooth remote that came with this set, and while I'm THRILLED this is included, it would be nice to have instructions on how to use it lol). This set includes TWO, I repeat TWO power cords, and one is for use in another country! This is great, but without instructions you'll be sitting there confused for a bit trying to figure out what to do with the darn thing. Very annoying! As far as the ring light itself, it's good. I'm a wig maker so I purchased the ring light to take better pictures of my mannequins wearing my wigs. I've attached 4 pics with this review, 2 pics taken with natural sunlight, and 2 taken with this ring light so you can decide for yourself which looks best. For me there wasn't a ton of difference. Natural sunlight looks just as beautiful as the ring light to be honest. The ring light did create more definition in the HAIR itself, but because of the ring light's brightness I lost definition in the mannequin. This kind of evened things out for me in terms of deciding which lighting, natural or ring light, is best for MY particular needs. I did go ahead and give this ring light 5 stars. Why? Certainly not because of the great instruction manual that came with it (scathing sarcasm). Because of the PRICE. Name brand ring lights of this size are literally hundreds of dollars, and I got this one for just a little over $120 on sale. This price, along with the fact that it was well packaged, with all of the necessary pieces/parts and performed well once I fired it up and started taking pics with it earns it 5 stars. But was it this incredible, MAGICAL halo of light that transformed my pics into something out of this world?? Nope. Not at all. For my specific purposes this light is only slightly better than natural sunlight. As you'll see in my pics. In all fairness though, I have to mention that I haven't taken any VIDEO using this ring light, which is typically what these lights are used for. Folks who make videos LOVE and swear by these things, so this may be absolutely fantastic for creating beautiful videos. But again for my purposes of photographing my mannequins/wigs, the difference in using the ring light versus not didn't blow me away. I do eventually plan to make videos using this light so I will come back and edit this feedback at some point once I see how it works for that application. In the final analysis, because of the awesome price of this ring light for what you get, I can definitely recommend it. But had this ring light been $200-$300 dollars or anywhere NEAR, it'd be going back.

I had to order this product twice. The first time it was shipped via Amazon and on delivery day I got a message that it was damaged and undeliverable. Amazon told me to order another one. Seems to me they would have automatically shipped a replacement. I was afraid I was going to lose the coupon value I had used, but fortunately it was still valid. As an added note, I contacted my seller, Global_omo, about my concerns, and they were very prompt and nice in their response. The second one was shipped via UPS and arrived in good condition. The product box was packed in a bigger box that was about one to two inches bigger than the product box all around. There was a single sheet of brown wrapping paper laid on top of the product box. I really don’t know the purpose of the paper, what it was supposed to protect. It certainly couldn’t secure the product box and the product box could easily slide around. Fortunately it was undamaged. The stand was packed in the top of the box. I guess they’re doing that now since so many people didn’t see the stand when it was packed in the bottom. The product is as pictured. The description is pretty accurate. The picture shows a Bluetooth receiver, which isn’t in the description text, but one was included. Instructions are included, but I didn’t really need them, mainly because I had read through a bunch of the questions and reviews beforehand. There’s an identification guide for each of the pieces, but it’s somewhat useless because half the references are out of whack. For example, image 2 is the phone holder, but it says 2 is the ball head. The ball head is actually image 6, which it says is the soft tube, which is actually image 5. The stand seems pretty good. You should position it so that one leg is front and center of the direction the light is facing. That will keep it from falling over if you bend the light down forward. The power plug from the adapter and receptacle on the light are interlocking. The plug has a couple of nibs on it that you slide into a couple of slots in the receptacle, and then turn it to latch it together so that it doesn’t come apart. I think that’s pretty cool. The light is very bright. The dimmer switch turns it down pretty dim. The phone holder fits my regular iPhone well. It’s a spring loaded clip that holds it to the phone. It might be a little difficult using an iPhone Plus or larger phone. The holder has two embedded nuts for screwing it to the ball head which give the ability to position the phone in either portrait or landscape mode. The nut on the back of my holder was not tapped right, it was hard screwing the ball head into that nut at first, but after several times I think it got tapped right and it’s much easier now. All the clamps and phone holder are plastic, which concerns me a bit. I’m afraid the phone holder will break if I pry it apart for a phone larger than my iPhone. I just hope everything lasts. The soft tube is very tight, hard to bend, which is probably good so that it doesn’t flop around. Almost seems a little too hard though. The remote paired easily with my iPhone. You use it to easily snap pictures without having to push the button on the phone. For Android, it says it is compatible with the standard camera in only certain phones, but there’s another camera app you can install that is supposed to be fully compatible. The carry case holds the light and cardboard accessory box. The accessory box is a bit tight and hard to close. The tabs and slots on my box were bent making it hard to close. You’d have to carry the stand separately. I give it a 4 because overall it seems like a very good product, and I think it will serve my purpose. I knocked off a star mainly for perceived durability, with all the clamps and light housing being plastic. Regardless, I highly recommend this product.

Best lighting ever

Cuando pedí esta luz tenía muchas dudas porque la mayoría de los usuarios comentaban que era buena pero que el kit había llegado incompleto, o en algunos casos no funcionaban bien los leds. Muchos usuarios también comentaban sobre lo complicado que era instalar la luz. Finalmente, después de mucho analizarlo, me animé a pedir el producto y honestamente estoy muy satisfecha. Hasta el momento sólo recibí, instalé, y probé el kit, no lo he usado por horas y horas como quizá haya sido el caso de otros. Pero para el desempaque inicial y la prueba todo ha salido justo como lo necesitaba. En mi caso compré el kit para hacer maquillaje profesional en lugares donde la luz natural o artificial no es suficiente ya que mi trabajo es a domicilio y en ocasiones he tenido mucho problema para trabajar dado que la iluminación no me permite ver lo que estoy haciendo con el nivel de detalle que necesito. Dado que esta luz es regulable ofrece un rango enorme de intensidades, desde la más baja que es muy sutil, hasta la más alta que en verdad deslumbra. Se puede alumbrar un cuarto completamente oscuro con esa luz. Para usarla como luz portátil me parece una gran opción ya que no está pesada e incluye el estuche entonces es bastante conveniente a pesar de que haya que montar y desmontar (lo cual tampoco me pareció nada complicado a diferencia de lo que decían varios usuarios). El tri pie también ofrece un gran rango de alturas, y tiene una parte flexible entonces literalmente se puede posicionar la lámpara y cámara en cualquier punto y ángulo que se requiera. La única observación que tengo "en contra" por el momento es que el accesorio para el celular se ve un poco frágil. Espero que me dure mucho tiempo pero no podría garantizarlo. La ventaja es que este tipo de accesorios se pueden comprar también en Amazon. Pero en general me encanta el producto y espero usarlo muchos años para crear maquillajes increíbles, así como fotos, y videos. Les dejo foto de la luz ensamblada después de sacarla de la caja.

Compré este aro de luz para mejorar la iluminación en mis vídeos de TikTok y YouTube, y ha sido una gran elección. Es bastante grande (48 cm), da una luz blanca muy potente pero regulable, así que puedes ajustarla según el ambiente o lo que estés grabando. Viene con un trípode estable y robusto, mucho mejor que otros que he probado. También incluye soporte para el móvil, y queda justo en el centro del aro, lo que hace que la iluminación sea uniforme y favorecedora. Lo he usado también para sesiones de fotos, directos, e incluso para maquillarme, y va genial en todos los casos. Muy buena calidad de luz, montaje fácil y resultados súper profesionales. Si estás buscando un aro de luz grande y fiable, este vale totalmente la pena.
