![Man From U.N.C.L.E., The: 8 Movies Collection (4 Disc) [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/7133zNxcoBL.jpg)

Combine the spy-against-spy Cold War era with '60s cool and the result is the trend-setting series that became a cultural touchstone -- and generated 8 Theatrical Movies derived from and expanding upon key episodes. Napoleon Solo (Robert Vaughn) and Illya Kuryakin (David McCallum) are intrepid U.N.C.L.E. agents who maintain tongue-in-cheek style as they confront the deadly schemes of THRUSH in the U.S. or anywhere else spy chief Mr. Waverly (Leo G. Carroll) sends his two top operatives. Guest stars caught up in the globetrotting intrigue include Joan Crawford, Janet Leigh, Vera Miles, Leslie Nielsen, Jack Palance, Eleanor Parker, Telly Savalas, Rip Torn and more. THE MAN FROM U.N.C.L.E.: 8-MOVIE COLLECTION includes the following movies: TO TRAP A SPY ONE OF OUR SPIES IS MISSING ONE SPY TOO MANY THE SPY WITH MY FACE THE SPY IN THE GREEN HAT THE KARATE KILLERS THE HELICOPTER SPIES HOW TO STEAL THE WORLD. Review: Great pakage 8 films - this is a great pachage Review: "A Fifty-Year Time Machine!" - Although I was a big fan of the UNCLE TV series, I did not realize there were eight films from 1965-68 which I have never seen. Maybe I was so involved with being drafted into the US Army, I missed them. Though some of the story plots may be corny today, viewing the vehicles, aircraft, and actors of the time appearing in these movies transports the viewer into the turbulent 1960s. For the individuals that did not appreciate these times this American film culture provides a view into it. It seems these films have much "gun play" and people dying of gunshot events. Oddly, there are some outstanding actors that appear in these films even though most of the films lost money. The eight films play very well in the Blu-ray player with color of the 60's genre. Unfortunately, there are no extras featurettes with this collection. To people that experience this time, these are wonderful. To the remained, they are comical.

The 8 Man From Uncle Movies from the 60's.
Now my UNCLE video collection is complete. I just wish there was subtitled for the hearing challenged to read.

Movies, not hour long shows
I have not watched this show since the 1960's, Friday night entertainment with my buddies down the street. It is fun to watch, but they are movies, from what I read, they are expansions of shows. They are good and my wife and I enjoy them, but after the last one we watched (we only watch one per viewing), she turned to me and said, "I wish they weren't so long". They are about 90 minutes of a little longer. The quality is great, they play very well and they are a fun, this was reasonably priced, and it is a trip down a memory path that will put a smile on your face. Like many of the shows of this genre from the 60's (Honey West, Wild Wild West) that are not on Netflex streaming, they can be a bit salty in price for a trip to another decade. I think you should judge if you are a serious U.N.C.L.E fan or someone who who like to see it one more time for memory sake.

This show had a cult following and was the original high tech spy vs spy
If you loved the show you have to see the movies. David McCallum just passed in 2023 but he and Robert vaughn were the original high tech spys. Leo G Carrol was their all business boss. Ted Cassidy even graced the set with his presence in a few episodes. Great stuff.

Excelsior!
These 8 movies were superbly made by some of Hollywood’s finest production talent and they featured some of Hollywood’s legendary actors in guest starring roles. The cinematography, sound, costumes, and set work was all top shelf stuff. As you read the loving comments of fans who cherished watching every weekly episode during the original run of The Man From U.N.C.L.E., you have to wonder why we have never seen U.N.C.L.E. fan conventions on a par with Star Trek fan conventions. I am a fan of both Star Trek and TMFU, and I would definitely attend a convention for TMFU.

Movies the same but I'm Different
I haven't seen these since they were first aired in the 1960's so I wasn't sure what I would feel when I watched them again almost 50 years later. Unfortunately for me the feeling was not what I first felt but instead bordered on boredom. This is not to knock the series which I enjoyed immensely when I was young but I guess I grew up and my tastes changed. The Transfers are all of very good quality and the packaging is good. I think part of my problem is I keep seeing Robert Vaughn as the corrupt politician in Bullitt or the demon haunted gunslinger in the Magnificent 7. Also it seemed that Vaughn and McCallum get their butts kicked far too often in the movies to qualify as the kind of spies I have come to expect from James Bond and Jason Bourne. The problem with the series was it couldn't decide if it was serious or a spy spoof like Matt Helm or Our man Flint.

It takes me back to my youth, when things were more optimistic and less mean spirited than they are now. I thoroughly enjoyed the Man from U.N.C.L.E. then and (it seems) still do now :) It might seem a little hokie, but it has a charm you don't see on the (yes, it's real this time) wasteland that passes for television now. I far preferred the more serious efforts in U.N.C.L.E. than the silly ones that came later (what idiot management thought that was a good idea?), but still - thoroughly enjoyable - and re:watchable. Thumbs Up!

Arguably, the eight films included here represent the best of the "Man From UNCLE". Created from two-part episodes, with extra footage added, they were intended for theatrical showing in some countries and were certainly a TV staple in the UK long after the series proper had ended. The quality varies, of course, and there's no escaping that some of the films are lazy ("The Karate Killers") or simply tired ("How to Steal the World") efforts. On the other hand, there are also some wonderfully entertaining yarns such as "One Spy Too Many" and "The Helicopter Spies". Overall, the quality is very high, with more hits than misses. So don't miss the chance to see how spying used to be done, and "Open Channel D" for this neatly packaged set of pure nostalgia!

Para los fanáticos de CIPOL están estas 8 películas en color excelentes, lo único es que esta versión que hicieron de aniversario no viene doblada o subtitulada al Español, pero de igual forma se disfruta. Llego muy bien empacada y protegida y a tiempo.
