Decent cheap sock needles
I have owned this set for nearly 2 years. The 2.0 mm (US 0) in this set is my most-used sock needle, and the 2.5 mm (US 1) works great for casting on. They are longer than standard 6"/15 cm sock needles so at the end of my toe decreases the extra length starts to get a bit unwieldy. Don't expect to be able to do double decreases with these as the tips are rather blunt. Durability is great for the price; I use the two smallest sizes the most and they haven't bent on me yet (I am a tight knitter). Had an odd chemical/petroleum smell when I first got them but it has dissipated with time.

I LOVE these needles! Great quality at a great price.
I've been knitting for 50+ years. These days I primarily knit fine lace or lace patterns on sport or heavier weight yarns for baby blankets and afghans. With the many yarn overs and purposefully slipped and combined stitches the needles need to slide and nothing does that better than metal. I removed every needle from the package and checked the size to my needle gauge and also checking for rough spots, they were sized correctly and the needles smooth. The points on these needles are perfect. The smaller sizes have the sharp points I need for gossamer, ethereal or other lace weight yarns, the larger sizes taper perfectly and have just a slight rounding at the very tip so I won't split heavier 3 or 4 ply yarns I might use for afghans. I read the reviews and was a bit hesitant, but for the price they were worth taking a chance and I'm so glad I did. Like others suggested, you may want to give the needles a light wipe down before using for the first time as I noticed a slight gray residue on the first few stitches of the swatch I worked up. I was using leftover yarn and have no plans to continue with this particular fiber so it isn't a big deal, nor should wiping them down be. Honestly I cannot imagine starting a project with expensive yarn and NOT making sure my needles were pristine beforehand.

Quality is good. Some listed sizes are wrong. Overall, I'm happy.
Got these today so I can't speak to their longevity. But, at a glance, they're better than I expected them to be. I've started using the 4.5 mm (US size 7) set and they're great so far. I decided to buy this kit despite some negative reviews because I figured: if only two of the eleven sets were viable, it still would have been a good price ($11.85 as of this writing). In my particular case, all 55 needles are viable (although there are a couple quirks detailed below). For the price, that's kind of incredible. Thus I went with 5 stars. Here are some highlights and then give a bit more detail below. PROS: + Very lightweight. I was surprised at how light the package (all 55 needles together) was. + Slick. Basically no friction. (If you're a beginner, this might be a con.) + No burrs or scratches. + $0.22 per needle. $1.08 per 5-needle set. CONS: - Some mild denting on a few needles. Nothing so bad as to make them unusable. - A slight metallic odor. Unpleasant but not noxious. (Might just be my pregnancy nose.) - No size markings on the needles themselves. Only the pouches are labeled with sizes. - Some sizes are inaccurate. LACK OF SIZE MARKINGS The lack of size markings on the needles themselves concerned me. It could cause a number of problems down the line. (If you misplace a pouch, you won't know what size the matching set is. If you have multiple sets in rotation you might accidentally put the wrong set in the wrong pouch at the end of a project. If you lose a needle and then find it again later you might not be able to match it up to it's correct set.) I resolved this by buying an inexpensive needle gauge tool to add to my knitting kit. Adding the cost of that tool to the cost of this set bumped the cost-per-needle up to $0.35 and the cost-per-set up to $1.69. In other words, it's still a great deal. That said, I'll probably use the gauge tool for more than just keeping this set in order. Buying the gauge tool also allowed me to discover the sizing errors detailed below... SIZING ERRORS Three of the sets I received are not the size indicated on their pouches. Not sure if this is an issue for all kits or just mine. Here are the details: + The pouch labeled 3.5 mm (US size 4) contains 3.75 mm needles (US size 5). + The pouch labeled 2.5 mm (US size 1.5) contains 2.75 mm needles (US size 2). + The pouch labeled 2.75 mm (US size 2) contains 3 mm needles (US size 2.5). So my package didn't include a true 2.5 mm set or a true 3.5 mm set. The sizes that these needles actually are are real US sizes and the original listing skips over some sizes anyway so I don't think I've lost out on any value on these two sets. On the other hand, the mislabeled 3 mm set is a duplicate for a set that was listed and included. So I got 10x 3 mm needless instead of 5x. This could be considered a loss of value--approximately $1's worth of value. I'm not too bothered by it.

great for the price
this is a great deal for the price. the needles aren't perfect and the tips aren't super sharp but they work fine. they are lightweight and easy to use. i would reccomend if you're looking for cheap knitting needles, but if you want amazing quality you're going to have to pay a little more.

I bought two different sets to compare and came up even.
I purchased the Z-COLOR 11 Sizes 55Pcs 7.9" Double Pointed Stainless Knitting Needles Set 2 MM -6.5 MM and the Whitelotous 75pcs 20cm Double Pointed Carbonized Bamboo Knitting Needles at the same time to compare them. The bamboo set, obviously, was the better deal, but which was the better value?? I have knitted Loops and Threads Woolike (1 weight), Lion Brand Vanna's Choice (2 weight), Caron Simply Soft (classed 4 weight, but it knits like 3), Red Heart Super Saver (4 weight), Bernat Blanket Pet (5 weight), and Loops and Threads Country Loom (6 weight) with both sets, just for a nice test. Gauge swatches in various stitches with several sizes for a thorough comparison. I had to wash the steel needles, of course, before first use. A little dish soap and a paper towel to make sure the grease was gone, and they worked beautifully. The bamboo was ready out of the package. Both sets frame perfectly sized. I checked every needle for accuracy and was pleased to find they were all correct. The bamboo came in flimsy plastic sleeves that were not suitable for storage, where the steel came in heavier plastic sleeves that work well, aside from the needles slipping out the top. My cats had them all everywhere in five minutes. The bamboo set comes clearly labeled on the needle, while the stainless is labeled on the sleeve, though neither has US sizes on them. Though that didn't bother me in the slightest, I know it does bother some. The bamboo needles are a bit grippy, which is typical of bamboo, and the stainless slid free like aluminum. I tend to prefer different materials for different yarns, so both worked well. The bamboo needles are very sharp, comparing well with my Takumi needles. The stainless are rather lightweight due to being hollow and quite dull, but if you persevere, it is easily adjusted to. They seem sturdy enough, and I had no trouble with them. I spent time switching between sets and even did a few swatches with mixed needles. Once you have the trick of using the dull needles, they truly aren't any harder than the sharp ones. The only trouble I had, actually, was the sharp needles splitting my yarn more frequently after I had been using the dull needles for a while. Frequent switching for a couple of days taught my hands how to use both types, so I no longer have that problem. I like both sets very much. I keep the bamboo needles in the plastic sleeves with steel needles of the same size, and they fit well. The extra bamboo sizes are banded together until I can make a case for them. All needles are now in a cat-proof box. Some of the bamboo needles, especially the smaller sizes, were slightly warped when I received them. It doesn't seem to have affected my knitting in any way, not even the way I move. All in all, both sets are beautiful and I couldn't rank one above the other. I even mix them sometimes still, just because I need more needles. Sometimes you just need six. Large people wear large clothes, but they pay well for them too. If you prefer sharper needles and don't wish to adjust for the sake of value, stick with the bamboo. If you want a hardier material and don't mind learning to knit with dull tips, go for the stainless. Either way, happy knitting!!

They are "fine" but you may need to smooth the ends to avoid snagging yarn
While the sizing is accurate and the price is reasonable, there are burs on several of the needle tips. If you have a fine metal file to smooth them its not a huge thing but it is a step I didn't expect to have to make.

Zero Grip
These are nice and pointy. I recommend more for experienced DPN users because these are VERY Slippery, so if you are looking for ZERO grip and a nice slip... these are for you

Great price, am enjoying using them
I recently had to return a set of Knit Picks Nickel plated double points sizes 0-3 because their 6โ length caused my hands to cramp. This set has the Knit Picks style of slightly blunt tips that I love, and at 8โ feels very comfortable in my hands. They are not as slippery as the nickel plated needles, but at a fraction of the price they are smooth enough. They arrived in good condition except for a rough burr on the tip of one of the 5mm pair, but since I usually use just 4 needles at a time this will not be a problem. Iโm half way done with socks, and these are working out quite well!
