This is one of those products that I’m annoyed with myself for not getting sooner. Works perfectly and relatively easy to install after watching a YouTube video. I will say the instructions that come with it suck. They have pictures for multiple different boxes and just weren’t very clear in my opinion, luckily there’s tons of videos on YouTube about this box. I did want to address that I almost didn’t buy this box because one of the other reviews said he has to manually switch it for it to work and he thought it was because of his generator. His was either faulty or not installed properly. Mine works perfectly and automatically with any generator.

Was an easy install since my basement is unfinished. I wired all of our must have items fridge, freezer, HVAC, and some living areas in the event of power loss. We’ve had to use it twice so far and it has worked flawlessly.

I did my own installation with my basic wiring knowledge. There are several Youtube videos that were very helpful. The instruction sheet is okay but the videos were better. I was a little disappointed that the supplied single breakers were 15 amp with 14 gauge wire. I needed to replace all of them with 20 amp breakers as that is what is my main panel which required me to replace all the 14 wires with 12. Once I got everything hooked up it worked like it is supposed to. I did have to drill a couple of holes to create 2 runs for the wires as the supplied flexible conduit was too small after I changed to the 12 gauge wiring. I have tried to hook it up to my 7.2kw generator built in to my Ford F150 hybrid but there's something wrong with it that causes it to kick off even when I'm not hooked to the Generac. I have an appointment with Ford service later this month to what is wrong.

I installed this unit myself after some YouTube videos.I’m not an electrician by any means but with some common sense and patience, it wasn’t too difficult, and really adds some peace of mind.Nothing fancy, my well and heat and lights work great on a generator when the power in my rural area goes out.The self installation helps understand how it actually works, and that’s a good thing!Consideration by generac to offer the automatic upgrade for the unit helps to improve it as I can afford to do so, allowing an economical solution to the primary functions with my existing portable generator.

I am a builder and I have a master electrician on staff. I purchased this product and had him install it at a customer location. The installation was fairly simple although the instructions are weak. Product was installed, and was found to be defective right out of the box. I called Generac for assistance and spoke to someone who was clueless. He gave me the phone number of a local company that provides warranty service for the switch. Ha Ha. The phone number was disconnected and the company name doesn't exist on Google, nor on the State of Maine business website. Flip a coin and order; I suggest not. You have a 50/50 chance of receiving a transfer switch that is not defective out of the box.

Easy to install with licensed electrician. Instructions were somewhat confusing but all clear after walking through the process.

A little surprised to see 8ga wires supplied and connected for what the installation instructions state use a 240v 50amp breaker on the non generator side. I bought some 6ga. Otherwise looks like an easy install.

We had this installed by an electrician and it will be great to be able to use if we lose power during another hurricane.

Works with 240V only, Doesn't include the original nema plug and extension. Works great.

installer en 2023 pas eu la chance de l'essayer jusqu'a maintenant mais a très bien fonctionner lors des essais .. j'ai complètement refait mon coins alimentation car au canada il est interdit de mettre des marettes dans le panneau principale d'alimentation j'ai donc utiliser une boite de jonction car mes fils originale était trop court pour se rendre au panneau de la génératrice sa été un peux long a refaire tout ça dans mon cas mais très satisfait du résultat

Super produit très facile Installer mais doit être légèrement modifier pour une installation conforme au canada.

All works good, but I was not happy to see that Amazon delivered me a used unit. One corner was bent and it was obvious that the screws had been unscrewed before. As I had the electrician on site at that moment, I could not stop the work from being done.....Disappointing.....hope all works fine after
