I found a mediocre telescope at a second hand shop for 10$. It was a Celestron Power seeker 127. I know nothing about telescopes. Or know just enough to know I don't know. I didn't even realize the "big shiney fancy telescope" I found didn't have a lense🤦‍♀️, at least not till I bought it. Not wanting to spend a ton on a lense set to find something else was wrong, I did a little research and found something that suggested 4mm as an ok size for something like this. This lense was one of the cheapest and not horribly rated. I'm shocked at how clear my view was of the moon. For a foggy night, in the city. Wind blowing so hard it was wiggling the telescope. Overall a terrible night to try it but my 5 yr old is calling the shots and she could see the moon from a window inside so we had to test out the Christmas gift because according to her it was clear enough, I've added a photo of how "clear" it is tonight. This is what we saw with this little thing on such a horrible viewing night.

Really surprised at the overall quality of this very affordable eyepiece (EP)! It has a wide Apparent Field Of View (AFOV) of 62° and sharp across most of the field. Only thing that could be better is the Eye Relief (ER). To get the full AFOV, your eye needs to be scrunched up pretty close to the lens. However, this being a high power EP at 4 mm, the ER for this level of magnification (and design of EP) naturally won't be that good. Still though, very pleased with this product. What's especially nice is that there is a removable Barlow element threaded in the inside of the chrome EP barrel. That element can be unscrewed - which then makes this a 8 mm EP. So you essentially get 2 EP's in one! Highly recommended!

This eyepiece is a budget upgrade for most of the budget telescopes sold here on Amazon. decent widefield a little ruff at the edge but that's to be expected for the price

Hey the thing works as advertised and the value is excellent. I can't give a thorough review as I haven't had the opportunity to use it in ideal conditions away from the light pollution in my town but using it on my porch I can say that it most certainly helps with viewing features on the lunar surface. At the current time I write this the only planet visible when I'm awake is Venus (too much light pollution to locate Uranus with any reasonable certainty) so I can't speak to its quality when viewing the detail of planetary bodies. The picture seems to be a bit hazy out of the box but I'm sure it just needs a little cleaning. Overall it seems well constructed and the quality is outstanding for a beginner who may not want to drop a ton of money on an eyepiece.

This can suit your telescope well, high power eyepieces are a bit better than Barlow lens for clarity and keeping the weight down, especially for planetary use. It suits my 115mm refractor. Check the max useful magnification of your telescope before you buy a high power eyepiece like this one. I like the wider field of view and the low cost of this eyepiece. I have an 8mm wide field planetary eye piece from Orion which has better set of optics and better quality but costs 6 times more than this one. This one does seem to introduce slight aberration and is not as clear as the Orion. However, the 4 mm gave higher magnification when I needed a more zoomed in view of the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn. Moon filter is a must of course as they reduce glare. I have not tried this on DSOs as I stop at the 8mm magnification for them. For terrestrial use in the daytime it seems to be pretty good upto 500 yards, not really as good quality wise for the night sky because of the chromatic aberration it introduces always, but given the low cost it has a place in my set of eyepieces and it will be an ok choice for amateur astronomers. The chromatic aberration is significant even at the day/night boundary of the moon, so it will come in the way of observing crater details. So this eyepiece is nor suitable for those boundaries where the aberration becomes significant. If you have a telescope bino viewer, you need a pair of these 4mm ones, as it is expensive to get higher quality ones. I recommend getting these for planetary use. This is a good buy, overall, 3 stars, I recommend it as long as you are not looking for a high quality image as the difference will be significant, the Orion one will be much better and a 400 dollar eyepiece from TeleVue will be much much better.

I'm very impressed. This was my first SVBONY purchase and I must say the quality is mind blowing for the price. The eye piece itself is comfortable against the eye. It is strong and sturdy and well made. The lense are clear and free of any imperfections which leads to amazing photos and videos with extreme amounts of detail. This is the first SVBONY of many I will be purchasing. I already have a few others in my cart.

Absolutely superb, I regularly use this for viewing close up on the moon or for planetary on shorter focal lengths, it does have some slightly noticeable aberration but at this price there’s nothing you can say to counter it

I was having trouble going from my 20mm eyepiece to the 20mm with Barlow or even the 10mm eyepiece to magnify Saturn. Every time, I would loose Saturn as I was not able to have as big a field of view. I decided to try this 4mm instead, without the Barlow and I was able to find Saturn with the 20mm, then switch to the 4mm and behold, Saturn was still there. The stated wide angle 62 degrees makes a big difference in the time it takes for me to find and view the planets. I am a beginner so I am sure my skills are that of a neophyte but am pleased with what i would call an upgrade to my viewing ability.

Good quality, I could see Alpha Centauri A and B both with this eyepiece on the other hand 20mm and 10mm eyepieces couldn't separate this twin star adequately enough. Cons: I found a small dark spot in its optics but it did not hinder the view substantially. Will try it on Jupiter and Saturn asap. Bang for buck

Es un lente de calidad media, pensé que era mejor que los que venían en mi telescopio (Celestron), pero esta un poco por debajo en calidad óptica. Hace su trabajo pero si quieres claridad, mejor invierte un poco mas en un lente mejor. Si el presupuesto es limitado, esta bien, solo no esperes mucha claridad.

Bought this for my 5” and 8” Dobsonian telescopes and the quality is excellent. Super happy.
