What A Kick!
Page turner of a novel.A psycho killer is on loose. The way he goes about killing his targets is just unbelievable and very INHUMAN.Lieutenant Jack Daniels along with detective Herb is imcharge of the investigation. The killer's main kick is derived from thinking of possessing Jack. Why is the psycho killing? Why does he want Jack?Read this novel to find out.

God read, simple language, but very interesting story
- I liked the way book keeps you engaged- The language is simple. If you are a newbie on book reading, then this is one of the best thriller books- If you are an experienced reader, story will bind you to the screen (or page)

Very readable
No spoilers...I like the reality of the characters in this book, for the most part they were terribly relatable - there’s no fairy tale here at all.The bad guy was shudderingly believable.Very few typo’s and well written page turner.

a lire
Très bien bon suspense. Je recommande toute la série. Facile à lire et très prenant. Bon bouquin à lire en vacances.

Witty and gritty
This is the first in a string of thrillers starring Lieutenant Jacqueline “Jack“ Daniels. A bit surprising how the humourous tone and the gruesome torture scenes fit together, I first thought the author should have made up his mind which direction to take but after a while I really noticed that the style of the novel is indeed very entertaining. The female protagonist is a mixture of Kathy Reichs' heroine Tempe Brennan and Harlan Coben's Myron Bolitar in my humble opinion and is quite likable. I will definitely continue reading this series, it does not set any new standards but keeps you turning the pages anyway.

If You like Your Heroines Tough and Your Drinks...
... stiff, mix Yourself a triple Whiskey Sour - A Thriller (Jack Daniels Mysteries) - ( or take the threesome: Jack Daniels Series - Three Thriller Novels (Whiskey Sour #1, Bloody Mary #2, Rusty Nail #3) ) - recipe always at the beginning of the thriller - and start with a new series. And yet better if You like Jack Daniels - because that's the name of our more than tough, forty-something protagonist, Lieutenant in the Chicago Homicide Squad.Had been there, seen it all, caught a lot more...And this is the first thriller of a series that reached his (momentary) height with Stirred (Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels/Luther Kite Thriller) where a Super Serial Killer meets our - quasi - indistructable and beloved Detective...But that's an entirely different story...In this thriller Lt. Jack Daniels is hunting the "Gingerbread Man" - some nice human (?) beeing who hunts, tortures, kills and ... vulnerable young women. The and... Yes, that You have to find out by Yourselves - like Jack, who attracts the attention of our bad boy a little bit too much..."Whiskey Sour" is one of those books You want to read and finish without being interrupted by Your yelping dog, Your scratching cat, Your yelling spouse etc...You will simply want to finish it.And continue with the series! You will find everything a good thriller should have: Frights, wits, black humour and all the twists and turns a good mystery needs. So have a good read and - Cheers! Amusing and thrilling
A good well written story. A very bad baddie and a good detective on his trail. Amusing bits to laugh at with the not very clever profilers for the FBI. All in all a good read
