Most anyone putting off the expense of buying new furniture and looking for an alternative should look no further than Sure Fit.Our house is quite old over 70 years and although our leather living room furniture wears like iron - the upholstered sofa and easy chair in our sun room has seen better days. Thank's to our Bulldogs, the welting on the cushions has been chewed, the cushions have compressed and look is now anything but Grande.The idea kicked in my slow moving brain cells to look into slip covers. My brief and limited experience with them is that most of them look pretty awful. However it was the Sure Fit brand we kept coming back to.We purchased the sofa and chair in Sable and couldn't be more pleased. Not only do they look sensational, they stay in place and are so over-sized they make for a tailored, crisp and excellent fit.Sure Fit has been around since 1914 and their product has always been slip covers for most any style of furniture you can imagine. The prices however are significantly higher than by purchasing on Amazon - well, no surprise there.The Sable color is gorgeous, a beige with a light gray hue it's transitional so the color doesn't overwhelm and all it takes is a few pillows, or a throw to get the burst of color you're looking for.The box stitching is exceptional, the feel is soft and comfy cozy, full welting along the entire perimeter, wonderfully over sized so there's enough material to really define the look of your cushions and arm rests - and for the most part they stay in place. But of course they still need some attention to keep them looking top notch.Some Quality Touches are:* Box stitching has the look of Upholstery* 100% color-fast the dyes are deeply saturated and there's no transfer of color to clothing of objects.* High Tensile Strength stitching - because these covers can stretch the stitching can stretch as well with compromising the build quality.* Soft stay put backing* Extra fill for a bit of added comfort* Odor resistant* Protective finish is stain resistant and has a marvelous feel* Machine washable (Stay Fit Guarantees less than 5% shrinkage)Unlike the multi piece sets - the one piece design doesn't shift easily. If I had one complaint it's that the Stay Put plastic wedges that literally 'lock" the cover in place are no included and to purchase them the cost is the same as the slip cover itself.They're effortless to put on and adjust. In a few minutes our Sun Room has a complete make over. The covers are simply sensational. If you're on the fence about purchasing one or more of these I would urge you to give them a try as you're bound to love both the look and performance.Highly Recommended.

I did a lot of research of different pet throw covers for my new furniture. I decided on buying for the couch first. I can not tell you how happy I am with this product. It stays put! Really! It is lush on one side and the underside has a little smoother material. The pet throw on the back of the couch is long so it never rides down, the arm covers also are very long. The color of sable was just right. The best part about it is that it washes up beautifully. I put it in COLD WATER AND WARM DRYER. It hasn't shrunk at all. What more would you want? My friend came over and saw it and decided to buy the throw in the love seat. It came and she liked it so much she bought the full couch and two chairs. Her chairs are not the lazy boy ones, the regular ones and she loved all that she purchased. After I saw her chair covers I bought two of them. I have one very stuffed lazy boy and one that is just a regular one. The covers fit both very well. I bought the covers because I have a spoiled beagle, tricolor and her short hair is so hard to vacuum up. Not a problem with this material. Well worth the money. Of course I must also praise Amazon for carrying items that would be impossible to find in our little towns. The shipment was free and came well boxed and protected.

UPDATE ON PRODUCT: SUREFIT IS A GREAT COMMPANY! I contacted the Surefit company about the fact that my 2 covers (one size large, other size love seat) did not match, even though they were both Ivory. This mattered because our sofa is a sectional, so the two pieces butt up to each other. Surefit was absolutely great--they sent me 2 covers at the same time that they had matched as best as they could at their company. I have now had the covers for a couple of months, and they hold up beautifully. They don't seem to get dirt stains on them, even though mine are Ivory in color and you'd think Ivory would really show the stains--but the covers stay clean-looking for a long time. I think it's because they are waterproof, so the dirt dries and then brushes off rather than soaks in. They wash beautifully, too.I was worried when I found out my daughter washed one of the covers without my knowledge in (regular) warm/hot water and then dried it on the regular setting, which also gets pretty hot, because the directions say to wash it in cool water and dry it low. She did this because the dog threw up on one of covers when I wasn't home so it was an emergency situation. But the cover wsshed and dried beautifully. It came out looking great. Surefit has been great, and I highly recommend these durable, attractive sofa covers for owners of active, muddy-pawed, occasionally-throwing-up-on-the-sofa kinds of dogs.But the best thing about these covers is that they really do protect the sofa fabric. That means I can enjoy having my dog cuddle up next to me on the sofa without having to worry about the sofa getting destroyed.OLD REVIEW:This is a great product and I recommend it, but here's the problem I ran into: I purchased the Ivory colored love seat sofa cover about a month earlier, and I love it. I then ordered the same cover, also in the Ivory color, in the full sofa size (we have a sectional sofa, one section full size and one love seat size). However, the shades of Ivory differ noticeably between the two pieces, and I don't know what to do about it. The ivory color of the love seat cover is a warm ivory that is compatible with my sofa fabric. However, the ivory color of the full sofa cover is noticeably lighter and is not compatible with my sofa, and I don't know what to do about it.[...Surefit Company resolved the above problem by mailing me matching covers]. Great company! Great sofa covers!

I have cats that shed, I keep these on my sofa and 2 chairs. Pull them off when we have company, they are nice looking, soft and protect my furniture. They wash up nicely.
