Toner Cartridge
The recent delivery for my new black toner cartridge is correctly working. The previous toner cartridge was brand new, but it did not work.... sending me a warning sign over and over again in every time I made any printing page. That previous toner cartridge was not used over six months, and then I put that new one into my Brother TN-110 device. The black toner cartridge was no good.... so I attempted to exchange this bad one for a new one, and they (Amazon) did not approve to exchange because it has been passed over 30 days. I think this is a ridiculous decision because I liked to order all four new toner cartridge to be stocked in my office room in advance. But they (Amazon) told me they could not exchange the bad one.... I have not opened that box of black toner cartridge until my printer informed me that the black toner cartridge was in a low.... as it was a time to get a new one. So I had that new cartridge in my office cabinet and be ready to replace the low one.... but it did not work.... it must be dried or damaged that I did not know it was a bad one.... it would be foolish to order all new ones and test them before putting them back into their boxes and save them for later replacements? I think it was a full of craps! You can buy a dozen of soaps and use them for later. You can buy a dozen of auto oil containers for many months and can be used for replacements.... you can stock some thousand sheets of paper printing and can be used for a year later. You can stock some tapes, staples, post-it notes, etc. and can be saved for later months. But the toner cartridges..... they have not opened until I needed them in some months later.....they (Amazon) said "no, the receipt has already passed six months and they were sorry! That is a full of craps!

Original OEM is the ONLY way to go!
This replaced my generic toner purchase. I saved a 'few' dollars on the generic, to only have to lose that investment and buy again with the right thing. You'd think after all these years the copy cat guys would get it right, but they haven't. So take an IT guy's word for it, ONLY buy OEM toner for this or any other printer. You'll be glad you did.On a side note, I had to run ~ 50 or so copies of a 2 page duplex document from Word to clean up all the smudge marks all over the place. It was pretty bad to start with and was MY fault for buying the generic to start with. I only put the word TEST on both pages so as not to waste the new toner. It was the process of getting out all of the old toner. Its working like brand new now and I'm very happy I bought the OEM replacement.

I think the cartridge was old
Put the cartridge in the printer and the print it produces is very light. In fact, if you attempt to print something that is gray in color, it is almost illegible. I think the cartridge itself must have been old but I don't have the box anymore so I'm not 100% sure. I'm assuming there may have been a date on it.

Catch 22
Okay, I like this printer a lot with the usual exception of toner cartridges. See, the TN110BK is a fine cartridge, but I blow through it very quickly. So, it would be obvious to go to the high yield TN115BK right. Not really. After about 2000 pages, it starts to leak toner and by 2500 pages needs to be replaced anyway because the pages are starting to become unusable. And yes, we have tried the remanufactured ones, they are even worse. We have yet to have one that the rubber strip didn't fall off. So, this is a catch 22.

Review of the TN110BK
I always check with Amazon first. They always have some lower price cartridges than the big box stores. All I say, is "Check it out for yourself". I think you will agree with me. And remember that Amazon will take care of it for a guaranteed time if it does not satisfy you. Remember the TN1l0 has a shorter print span than the TN115. So if you print a lot I would recommend the 115 version. But since I don't print much, I always order the 110 version. Al Lott

Initially OK, time will tell
After looking at 3rd party cartridges I ended up getting the official Brother unit again. This because of various other reviews indicating leakage, failure to work with machine, etc. I was hesitant to get another official Brother cartridge because the original started leaking and covered the interior with toner even though the cartridge clearly had a lot of toner left. Perhaps the original was just faulty. So far it is quite good. Installed w/o issue and is producing clean, clear, dark prints. In any case, time will tell whether the official cartridge replacement is better than the less expensive 3rd party units.

Brother laser printer cartridge
I bought this cartridge as the print quality on my brother HL4040CN laser printer was getting worse (black streaks & bands in the printout. This cartridge came in retail packaging. After I replaced the cartridge, the print quality is better. Make sure you clean all the corona wires are cleaned and print out a few sheets to clear the residue in the drums, after you replace the cartridge. I was thinking of buying the high capacity cartridge (TN115BK) but settled on this one because of the price. Hopefully it will last long.

Love Brother printers
I'm using this in an MFC-9840CDW color-laser all-in-one. The toner cartridges have excellent life (five users in the household), are reasonably priced, and fairly simple to replace. I've had my unit three years and this was my third black cartridge replacement (12/09). We put a LOT of paper through this unit. Also nice that Brother provides printable return shipping labels (at their website) that allow you to send the spent unit back to them at no charge in the box the new one came in.

Original OEM Toner works best me
Great as always. Open package and install in printer. Nothing else to do.I recently tried toner refilled cartridges hoping to save some money, but did not have a good experience. They required special instruction to "trick" the printer into accepting them and reset the End-of-life warnings. Vendor all took back their product, but the hassle just wasn't work it to me in the end. The OEM replacement costs more, but it always works. My printer (4040CDN) is about 9 years now and get's light use. On original everything except for toner, which has been replaced about 5 times.
