Yes. There is a larger refill version for this item, and that black lid just screws off so they can be refilled.

I don't know for sure but since so little is used I don't think it will harm it. It is alcohol, oil and distilled water mostly in a mist. My husband , who watches his septic like a hawk, has no issues with it. We have used it especially when grandkids come over. We have 10 and 7 are boys. Not sure if this helps.
