Updated on 12/11/2023 No matter how often have I dried the inside of the kettle after each use, the inside bottom plate has leached minerals of some sort while heating, leaving behind the little round dark and/or light spots some people have noted here in their reviews. I did not find any issues with rust. I have also reduced the heating temperature to 275 on my Induction plate. Previous review: I certainly appreciated reading all the good and not so good reviews, so I knew what to look out for and avoid: When using the kettle, I did not go over 375 degrees on my Induction plate, so as to avoid any potential overheating problems with the metal or handle. (I imagine this would interpret to using a medium to medium low flame on a Gas burner). I also emptied and dried out the inside of the kettle to prevent any potential rust from forming, adding some paper towels to facilitate evaporation thru the opening at the top, and thru the spout to help eliminate any leftover moisture I might have missed, before returning it to its storing place. I especially liked the zero drip pouring spout, and the way that the spout cover can be smoothly snapped open, without sending any residual hot water flying over onto my hand, as other more expensive kettles have done in the past. I like the blue colored kettle I picked because it goes well with so many of my kitchen things and such. And it definitely makes a high strong whistle.

This kettle is beautiful and fits perfectly with my farmhouse decor. I have not used it yet but it looks and feels like better quality than the kettle it is replacing in my kitchen. I was surprised to see the “wood” is not actually wood. I didn’t read enough before purchase. I worry that the pattern might show signs of wear since it is more of a printed image that might rub off. I still love the overall look and the faux wood feels very soft and comfortable in my hand. I would still recommend! Let’s see how it holds up! Oh and I love that the handle moves too!

So glad this kettle hasn't rusted on the inside. I use this kettle once a day to boil water for tea. My water is from a well and leaves mineral residue on most of my stainless steel cookwear including this kettle but it cleans out easily and shows no sign of rust. That was the most important thing when I purchased it from Belanko who had claimed it wouldn't rust and so far that is true. The only problem I have is that the handle and the whistle component wobble and I worry that it will be a safety issue if it weakens more and falls apart when I boil hot water. I will contact Belanko to be sure that it isn't a problem otherwise I like the simplicity of this kettle and the whistle sound is remminiscent of my childhood.

Purchased the starry white on December 12th 2023 & by January 3rd 2024 it was scorched but that’s my fault for thinking it could handle high heat halfway full lol. Glad the disclaimer now includes care instructions because sure enough it’s rusted one year in & I’m thinking of replacing for a another colour but wondering if I can get better quality since the handle is starting to peel. The whistle is loud enough to my liking (I had ordered a replacement & it wasn’t as loud so sent it back) & it does it’s ots job holding enough water.

I'm always using my microwave. We've had 2 weeks of terrible storms and power outages here in California. I thought I was all prepared with flashlights, lanterns, emergency radio. Then I remembered coffee! How would I boil the water? Luckily I have a gas stove. This kettle is very pretty. I love the color and the whistle isn't too loud- just loud enough. Now I'm ready if the power goes out again!

Very cute but the bottom burned the second time using it on our gas stove.

Original post- I love this little teapot, but 2 months in and its discolored from the heat of the burner. I use it on a gas stove but I am very careful not to have the flame too high. Edited my review, Belanko customer service reached out and offered to replace or refund the teapot. I love it so much I asked them to send me a new one. I will be extra careful with the new one and see if it discolors from heat. I give their Customer support 5 stars, hopefully the new teapot matches that!
